Review: Living with Happiness - I titled it the way I did because this book does definitely help you to come away empowered on how to increase the happiness in all areas of your life. Many people from all walks of life are going to benefit from this book because of the information that it contains regardless of how happy you are in your life (whether you are still learning to be happy or you are already super happy). Some of the helpful chapters contained in this uplifting book are about living in higher purpose and recognizing life purpose. You may want to keep a pen, paper, and/or highlighter handy for information that is going to resonate with you depending what path you are currently on in your life. I must be considerate of all who are interested in the book, but have yet to read it so I am going to share a couple of my favorite excerpts from the book. My first favorite passages are on page 183(the chapter about living in higher purpose) where it reads: Manifesting is a matter of trusting and believing in yourself, and holding that vision in front of you(the first sentence of the last paragraph) You are often tested by the universe to see how much you believe in your vision. Every goal is reachable if you keep working on it. (also in the last paragragh on page 183 of the living in higher purpose chapter). My second favorite passages are on page 191 of the recognizing life purpose chapter that read: There is often a time lag between the new thought and the having it that confuses and stops many people from continuing to think of the new. So past thoughts may still affect you for a while, even as you change your thinking. Within two to three months, however, the new thoughts will have gained momentum and will have created new outer forms to match. I felt the urge to mention these passages taken from the book because they resonate to me (and I am sure others who read the book) how important it is to believe in your dreams regardless of how long they take to manifest. Living with Joy also gives helpful information on how the bigger the dream that you have, the more time that it may take due to the internal changes that are going to have to occur first. The book contains fun excercises and information regarding stimulating the internal changes needed to put you on the path of joy and increasing your receptiveness to attract what you desire. There is going to be others who read the book and discover many other helpful passages and healing information contained in the book. Last, but not least, the other favorite information that I got from this book was how important it was to honor yourself as a unique individual and avoid comparing yourself as better or less than when it comes to how others are doing in their life. Yes, I am aware that countless others may know this, but I enjoyed being reminded of this because I live in an area where it is sometimes too easy to let others define you by what you do. Please understand that I am happy and appreciative where I live, but the first thing I did discover when I moved to the D.C. area is that it is all too common for many people to ask your occupation as a condition of defining you. I quickly learned to avoid comparing myself to others and just be the best that I can be. However,it is always good to read a helpful and cheerful book (such as Living with Joy) on why it is important to your own overall happiness to go within yourself to discover your highest path, and compare your life to that (also found in the recognizing your life purpose chapter). This book is very important to purchase if you have even the slightest concern and/or determination to increase the happiness and joy in all areas of your life and those who surround you. Review: Living in Joy is Possible: This Book is Where My Journey Began! - It would be difficult to write a concise review that describes the significance of this book in my life or its potential for yours. I first read Living With Joy in the 1990's, having "found" it as I was leaving a 20 year experience in evangelical Christianity. I had found the latter too confining, and so prescriptive as to not allow me to "work out my own salvation," (to borrow from the New Testament). While I had experienced some very deep spiritual things in my Christian walk, it left me feeling over-regulated, where I was expected to conform to dogma. And as orthodox Christian dogma came to seem less and less likely for me, I came to discover that the spiritual world was much broader than that. Living With Joy was one of the first books I read that was not in the self-reinforcing mold of popular Christian writings. It immediately captured me with the gentle tone and spirit. While Sanaya describes her writings as the channeled message of Orin, a being of light, she also makes it very clear from the outset that it's OK to embrace only the parts that fit for you, and not struggle over those that do not. That gentle, respectful and loving tone permeates all her work. At the time I first read this book, I could not have imagined how it would be possible to live in joy as the normal state of affairs. But pieces of this book have stayed with me, and I have returned to it over and over during the last 20+ years. One of the simple truths she shares is, "Think Higher Thoughts." As you do, you'll realize that the only thing standing in the way between you and a life of joy is YOU! We have all been so conditioned that we cannot find our hearts, we are busy executing all the obligatory activities, including religious activities. I won't review the content here- others have done plenty of that. I'll simply tell you that this is one of my core books that I return to over and over. In fact, quite "coincidentally," I started re-reading another of her books tonight, "Spiritual Growth." I also recently gave a copy of Living in Joy to one of my clients when he expressed interest in moving toward joy. Frankly, if the subject draws you, just buy it. Ignore the bits that bother you, and embrace those that resonate. You will be blessed, and you will be inclined to move forward in your spiritual growth and living far more of your life in joy. P.S. It IS possible to live in joy. I've moved from perhaps one day in 14 to now enjoying 12 or 13 out of 14 days being fully joyful. This book is where my path began!

This is my desert island book.
If I could give this book 10 stars I would. I have all the books in the series. I started with Opening to Channel back in 2011 or 2012 and I can't begin to explain how powerful and eye-opening reading that book was. It opened a spiritual doorway in me. I often read a passage of one the Orin and DaBen books everyday before bed. I can't recommend this book highly enough. The messages just ring true in your soul. For many years every time I had a question or problem I was facing, if I opened up one of these books, and the exact solution would be staring me in the face. Now they have become so much a part of my life, I do the Orin and DaBen meditations daily. I am more peaceful, I feel as if I have gotten rid of a constant low level state of anxiety and I hold less fear in my body. I am more compassionate. I gained the courage to leave an unhealthy work situation and unhealthy relationships. I have attracted my soul mate who is also a spiritual person and we are celebrating 4 years together this week. I found work that was enjoyable and now I have doubled my income. I can hear messages from my guides. I owe a lot of these improvements in my life to my continual spiritual growth. Many of my manifestations that I have been working on for years are coming true. Buying and reading this book along with the others in the series has been one of the best and most important things I have ever done with my life. I know that sounds extreme, but it is true. It's not very expensive, but it might be one of the best things you ever do! I have also read A LOT of spiritual books and books on law of attraction and manifesting. And this is among the BEST. You can read it over and over and learn something new each time.

Life-changing!
Living With Joy is an amazing book that has changed my life for the better! Although I've always been fairly positive and happy overall, at times I would sink into a funk about some aspect of my life or another that wasn't working out like I wanted it to. Living With Joy has totally smoothed out those rough spots by helping me to think about and experience my life in a new and better way. Some of its basic tenets are this: that you can learn and grow and accomplish what you need to in life on a path of hard work and struggle or on a path of ease and joy - your call. That there is plenty to go around for everyone if you choose the path of joy. That the life situations we encounter are a direct reflection of our own attitudes and state of mind. That approaching social situations from a stance of love and compassion will cancel out negativity and hard feelings. And that you can life your life the way you want to, not the way you feel like you have to or the way you feel is expected of you. My sister recently blogged about Living With Joy and had this to say:
I am continuing to be amazed and astounded at how suddenly unproblematic my historically always-problematic personal life has become, through the simple exercise of some Living With Joy basics: being willing to stay vulnerable, to speak the truth that is my deepest truth, to listen fully without making either myself or the other person "wrong", to express love when I feel it, the way I feel it, without either attachment or aversion to outcome, to give my full attention and full compassion to the situation someone else is having, while knowing it's not my situation to navigate. To be quiet when I want to be quiet, which is amazingly often, considering what a chatter-box I can tend to be. There is no one who stresses me. It's a change in me, and I like it, and I absolutely love the way it opens doors to all the good in everyone I know. There is so much good in all of us, it floors me.
I highly recommend this book!

Falling in love with this book all over again
When I picked up the first edition years ago, I just couldn’t put it down. It was full of such wisdom that I connected with instantly. I always kept it at my bedside and highlighted it again and again. I think the whole book is highlighted now. Then to find a new edition- well, I’m doing the same thing again. I love the wisdom, the play sheet, the daily practice and the affirmations. I feel empowered once again to co-create my joy in this life. I asked my partner (who doesn’t read books), if he would read just a few words at least of the second chapter on living with joy. Half an hour later, I found him still reading. He asked, “would you be terribly disappointed if this book disappeared for awhile?” Yes! I have now ordered him his own copy. He said that just that little bit he read has already helped him so much. That’s how I feel reading all of Sanaya’s and Orin’s books. I hope more anniversary editions are in the works! This is one of my, if not my favorite book of all time.

This is a must have for anyone who wants daily spiritual reading.
I purchased the book knowing that it was used. But it was in very good condition. The back and front covers were a little worn but I love this book. I keep it by my night stand and read it daily. It is very spiritual and helps keep your mind in a peaceful state. I have purchased several of these books as a gift. I love buying my books for Amazon they arrive on time and so far I have never had to send one back.

An Everyday Guidebook If Worked Will Change Your Life!
When I first bought the book, I kind of read through it quickly, then I put it back on the shelf and forgotten about it. Recently I picked it off the shelf and started just reading any chapter, one per day. Many channeled works have left me empty as the information just did not resonant within me. HOWEVER....this book is a gold mine of guidance to turn your life around. If you are struggling on your spiritual journey, this book is for you. That said it is only ready for you, when you are, it is not a book to read and then set it down. Its a book to read a chapter, focus on how you can work the info into your life. Think about it, meditate over it, just let it sink in, ask yourself questions, and if something overwhelms you, move to another chapter, or rest you mind for a day. There are suggestions at the end of each chapter that will ask questions of yourself,. This gets you thinking, and you can move to the affirmations after each chapter. In the beginning of the book, Orin introduces himself and gives you tips about reading the book, nothing is shoved at you, it is written in from a basis of love and compassion. But you must use this book, work with it on a daily or weekly basis. Read, think and apply, read focus and refocus and apply. You will find a peace and contentment as you work through the book. Desire to change your life, buy the book.

SPIRITUALLY UPLIFTING BOOK
I've read the other Sanaya Roman books and every single one of them are spiritually uplifting. I like carrying this book in my book bag, anytime I need spiritual reminding or simply inspiring words I'll reach the book. I seldom write reviews but Sanaya Roman deserves this five star rating, she writes in such a way that you can actually sense that she's speaking directly to you. If you're contemplating on buying this book I really think that the average reader will get a lot out of it, I like to call her book "Comfort Books." Enjoy!

Excellent Book Ahead of its Time
This book was written over 20 years ago yet it feels like it is from the future. Many rationalists may immediately by turned off from this book due to the fact that author Sanaya Roman is "channeling" a "higher being". Even if this seems illogical or out of this world to you that has very little to do with the information inside the book. If you want to live more joyously and connected and are open to helping yourself this book can really speed things up. This book is extremely simple to read yet the wisdom is literally out of this world. I have never had an experience with channeling and so I can't prove it exists...but something tells me there's more to the text than a human could conjure up by thinking. At the end of each chapter as you may have heard there is a daily joy practice to recap, there are also affirmations to remind you. At first these affirmations seemed cheesy to me but then I realized the only reason I was skeptical towards them is because I was constantly thinking the opposite of their positive ideas on a regular basis. When you notice you believe the opposite of something very positive something in your head "clicks" and that old ego thought pattern dies. Affirmations also work with your subconscious. Even if you say "I will live joyously today" with all your heart you may not feel like it is doing anything, yet the subconscious is extremely powerful, and contains much more than the conscious mind. These affirmations "stack up" over time and you really do begin to change things if you let yourself. Overall this book was great and I would recommend to anyone who is open-minded and willing to learn and grow! :) 5 Stars

Love the books in this series
Anyone who is open to the idea that we have the power to make our lives better will enjoy this book. This is the third book I've purchased in this series. They are books you can open to any page and get something valuable, do the exercises if you feel like it, and read over and over. The affirmations are helpful and I feel more positive just reading the book.

Uplifting and Empowering
The full title of this work is Living with Joy: Keys to Personal Power and Transformation. Personal power and Transformation being what this book is all about. Although the hands that actually worked the typewriter belonged to medium Sanaya Roman, (thank you Sanaya) from page 10 onwards the actual words, or to be more precise thoughtforms belong to Orin, a "timeless Being of Light" whose self appointed mission is to heal the healers and teach the teachers. So this is a channeled teaching as Orin is discarnate and doesn't have an actual physical body at this time. The book is laid out in 19 chapters, each containing 10 pages or so. Which means its in nice "bitesize chunks" not too taxing for the limited (my) attention span. The level of language is that of the average man in the street, so its accessible to even those with a fairly modest education. Every second page or so contains a key concept in bold type with space around it. A bit like an affirmation I suppose you could say. The surrounding text expands the idea, and they are all listed in the contents page also - so its really easy to find an idea you wish to review. At the end of each chapter are a few simple exercises you enable you to apply what you've read to your individual circumstances. This book is very, very user friendly in the way its been written. The work of an extremely high intelligence. Every book is an answer to a question - and only if you are asking that question at that particular time will that book connect with you. If at this time you are aware of walking on a spiritual pathway. If your questions are "How can I heal the past and move forward? How can I raise my vibration and help others? How can I grow as a person and make a difference in the world?" If these are your questions then maybe Orin is your answer. These ideas can take you to the next level of existence. It would be a great shame for someone interested in healing, or in personal growth not to experience the joy so many of us now have found in these pages. Orin is a beautiful spirit to connect to. This book is the first in a trilogy by the way. And yes! the others are also as good. I,d just like to add that if this review, or the others on this book seem a little "Over The Top", its because we cannot help but reflect back the joy and the love these teaching have brought to us.
