Worth every penny
I have a shure SM7b also and it needs preamp also but this microphone doesn’t need anything additional and sound 99% the same as SM7b. So glad purchased this.

Great sound
All Shure mics are dependable. This one too lives upto expectations. Clean sound. Volume levels can be adjusted on the recorder you may not need the very expensive one. You can try a pre-amp too for this.

Very good quality
I bought this a couple of months ago, to record for my videos, and it is quite good at rejecting ambient sounds unless you are very close to it. Keep in mind that I had to buy literally everything else to make it work. The package only sends the mic, literally nothing else.

Great Mid End Microphone!
Love this microphone! Was a bit tricky to start out and get the settings used correctly with my Focusrite, however, now I sound better than ever and I can easily modify my settings to hear absolutely crisp vocals with 0 background, or, I can make it pick up a bit of ambiet noise if need be!Highly recommend for the price.
