Fantastic, but don’t make my mistake.
Great, functional product perfect for camping or off grid cabins, etc. BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN TIGHTENING THE FITTING FOR HOT WATER OUT. You need to be extremely careful and delicate or you can break the unit. It’s meant for camping and garden hoses. If you are doing a permanent installation with something like pex and brass fittings, be very careful and gentle. MAKE SURE AND DRAIN THE UNIT DURING FREEZING TEMPS. This is super easy and takes five seconds. I’ve lost 3 of these to freeze damage. For any kind of permanent installation, YOU NEED A PRESSURE RELEASE VALVE IN THE HOT WATER LINE OUT JUST A FEW INCHES OUTSIDE OF THE UNIT. This will keep your pipe from exploding in the event that the heat exchanger gets clogged from degree in the water supply and hot water pressure builds up inside the unit. If you have a shower that automatically mixes hot and cold water (one handle) it’s possible that you may only get warm water if your water source is very cold. The best kind of faucets (sink and shower) for this water heater is the kind that has a separate handle for hot and cold. This allows you to get only hot water. Some faucets that have only one handle will mix hot and cold water even when the handle is turned all the way to hot. This is only a concern when temps are below 40 degrees.

Nice for camp shower and hot water for dishes etc.
I mounted mine in a Pelican-like case which holds the Tankless Water Heater, hoses, electric pump etc. We have a teardrop trailer, so the above modular kit makes it easy to set up. Just hang the kit on hook or tree limb, drop the water intake hose into a 5 Gal. Jerrycan, connect the pump to 12V power source, connect gas hose to the propane tank and enjoy a nice, hot shower. Our trailer has a water tank but no hot water, so the kit also doubles as hot water source for cleaning dishes, dogs, whatever. The Camplux works great, setting the temperature is a bit touchy but after using it a few times you'll get used to adjusting the water pressure and/ or temperature knob to have a nice comfy shower. You can also just cycle the hot water back into the water can to warm the source up for a nice consistent tenp. This setup makes us Happy Campers and was worth the cost and effort.

Works wonderfully
Bought for outside shower option after hubby had an accident. Works amazingly well and it’s a blessing!

mostly good, but room for improvement
nice and hot instant water. Works as described. My only real complaint is that the fitting for the shower hose is required, otherwise it sprays water all over the place, and the fitting is made of plastic, so it's easy to break off - rendering the unit useless until you replace or plug the hole. I wish that fitting were metal, and I wish it had a valve to shut off, as I'm not using this for shower only, but rather for hot water solution throughout camping trailer, but if I don't plug in the shower hose, the unit cannot be used!

Doesn't stay lit
Unit doesn't stay lit for more than a few seconds before turning off, trying to relight (can hear the spark generator clicking) then just not working. Result--hot water for a few seconds at most. At that point I have to turn the water valve off then on and start over. Same result. Contacted Camplux numerous times for help and they directed me to build a "shed" to protect the unit from wind. I installed baffles on the sides and top that allows for air to enter and products of combustion to exit, and at the same time block the wind. Still doesn't stay lit. Had the water volume and PSI and the gas flow measured and they all are within the parameters set by Camplux. Have adjusted the gas and water flow on the unit to find a sweet spot, and still won't stay lit. Now being told it could be a solenoid, which I have to buy from Camplus and replace myself. At this point I'm replacing it with another brand. Hasn't worked correctly since I bought it and Camplux hasn't offered to replace it. UPDATE: I took the cover off to replace the solenoid, as directed by their customer service rep. I discovered that the wires were melted and other parts were burned. This is consistent with a number of other reviewers reporting melted wires or the unit burning up. Reported this to Camplux and asked for a replacement. You can guess how that went.

Great customer service, love the product
This is a fantastic product, and I say that even though mine developed an internal leak after about one year of steady seasonal use. Camplux's customer service in dealing with my issue was timely and effective. Why I didn't know about this type of shower setup until 2025 annoys me, as I'd surely have purchased one sooner! Unless you're trying to heat up absolutely frigid water (which I've tried), your shower will be quite warm. Pressure is sufficient.

Great buy. Has held up for about 2 years so far.
Good product. I have a mountain water seep filling an 18 gallon container (elevation about 20ft up), then about 600ft of black poly pipe to a 3.3 GPM diaphragm pump that feeds the unit. The diaphragm pump came with an inlet water filter - 50 micron I think. Without the pump, the camplux unit would sometimes work, just didn't always have quite enough flow or pressure, especially if the pump inlet filter got clogged. In short, I needed a small RV style pump for my situation to get the best use out of the Camplux heater. For some situations, if you have enough elevation for your water source, you might be ok with just gravity flow. At first, I tried to have a splitter valve at the unit for cold water, but ultimately I found a better solution. All you need to do is turn open the battery compartment so the batteries are disconnected. They designed it so the D batteries are held in place, they don't fall out. Very smart. Two D batteries has lasted me so far through two seasons. Highly recommend reading the manual, learning a little about thread types (GHT, NPT, etc.). This came with adapters and I was able to figure it out. Installed a quick connect that I purchased separately. Also highly recommend figuring out which weather service is more accurate for your area for low temp, and give yourself a bit of leeway for frost conditions. If temp gets <35F or so, I drain it. It's necessary and important, unless you are going to maintain a heater nearby to prevent the unit from freezing. I also keep my source water flowing to prevent it from freezing during the winter, but every situation is different. Areas for improvement: - Consider larger labels and indicators on the front, keeping in mind people won't have their glasses on and will use the unit in low light conditions. - Consider labeling the little knurled drain location on the front so that it is easier for people to find. Last thought - I used 1/8" thick N52 magnets, stacked as necessary, with thin double-sided adhesive in between the unit and the magnets as well as magnets and wall. Unit is held onto the shipping container in the picture via magnets this way.

Good product strong customer service!
I purchased a Campluxe for my camper van and love it! I have hot water at the sink and also at the back for an outdoor shower. It was easy to install and easy to use. Their customer service is very responsive! Thanks Campluxe!

This is AWESOME!!!
So far so good! This outdoor shower is amazing and exactly what I needed for my off grid camp. I love that it came with a pump too. It’s hot on the lowest setting even. I was super impressed by this on the first use. Easy to install & hook up, it’s going to be a game changer when you spent a week off grid! No more boiling water for bird baths 😂

Damaged parts and box filled with dirt and dust!
Edit: There are no instructions included in the box on how to troubleshoot issues with the pump. Sometimes the pump will work, sometimes it won’t. When it arrived in the box, it was filled with water, so I don’t know if I received a used pump. The propane heater works fine (It’s very hot water on the minimum setting), but the pump and knob adjustment for water regulation are VERY poorly designed. Only after reaching out to customer service do they offer videos on how to troubleshoot the unit. Why wouldn’t they include pump operation and troubleshooting guides in the box??? I’ll give this a couple more tries, but I’ll probably return if it doesn’t work consistently. Either I got a dud or returned unit, or this portable shower and pump are poorly designed. (Original feedback) Customer service told me at first they wouldn’t send me a replacement shower head, then they must have noticed my review and then suddenly offered me one. Amazon’s customer service is getting horrible. I can’t just get a replacement shower head, they want me to unmount it, package it, drive it to the post office wait days for my refund, and then have me order it again. The device works for now, but service gets a big fat ZERO. Also, nowhere can I find what the warranty on this device is!
