For the 90th anniversary of Winnie-the-Pooh, a sequel featuring new stories and a new character from the Hundred Acre Wood. Now a New York Times Bestseller. The Trustees of the Pooh Properties have commissioned four authors to write in the timeless style of A.A. Milne to create a quartet of charming new adventures for Winnie-the-Pooh, Christopher Robin, and their friends. Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall: take a trip back to the Hundred Acre Wood with a collection of tales sure to delight year-round. One story finds Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet on a quest to discover the "Sauce of the Nile" (they suspect it's apple). And in another, all the animals rally around poor Eeyore when he thinks he sees another donkey eyeing his clover. The winter story features a new penguin character, based on a stuffed toy owned by Christopher Robin Milne himself. Readers of all ages will love rediscovering old friends and making new ones in this essential new volume of Pooh stories. The book feature beautiful color artwork in the style of Ernest H. Shepard by Mark Burgess. Review: A wonderful book and tribute to an iconic bear - Anyone who loves Pooh needs this book! It also introduces a new "person" - Penguin. There are photos(not in the book but available when searched) of Milne and his son with a stuffed penguin; however; the character was never in any of his books. These stories were written in honor of Pooh's 90th birthday and are in the style of the original stories, as are the illustrations. A wonderful book and tribute to an iconic bear! Review: Very Cute! Captures the spirit of the original Pooh books! - This was so endearing and adorable. It will make a great gift for anyone who loves the classic Winnie the Pooh stories. The illustrations are so cute and really look like the Shepherd ones from the originals. They capture the style and spirit of the originals. I know I will treasure this book for years, and I plan to give it as a gift for my little nephews and nieces.

A classic, updated
WiINNIE THE POOH is a classic, my childrens' favorite many years ago, and the "new" edition quite charming. It does include in one section the addition of Penguin, which led me out of curiosity to ordered this version. Very well done, and following effectively in the patterns of the original A. A. Milne story books.

I like the seasonal themes of the stories
I'm usually a purist when it comes to books but these stories are charming and well done. I like the seasonal themes of the stories. Also that the stories are done by different authors, rather than all by one author as has been done before.

Wonderful to revisit old friends but misses the mark somewhat
Having read the original Pooh stories, I am delighted to revisit the hundred acre wood. However, these stories missed the innocence and wonder of the originals. To be fair, nobody else has been able to capture that unique approach to childhood either. It is difficult to carry a host of characters that only a child would really understand. The original stories were quite critical of the characters because of their pride (rabbit), ignorance (owl), cowardice(piglet), depression (eeyore), and just plain stupidity (pooh). But, it was not insulting them. They were flawed characters in need of their loving master, Christopher Robin. In short, "you silly old bear." This new group of stories tries to carry on those flaws but does not touch on new ground really. And does not quite have a child's heart with its mixture of innocent cruelty mixed with loads of love. After all, there is just fluff between its ears.

A joyful read about an adorable bear and his friends.
I read it with my grandchild and we both loved it. Winnie was a joy as we thought we'd never read any more lovely stories about Winnie the Pooh.

Beautiful 90th Anniversary Sequel
I bought this beautiful hardback book as part of a Birthday present for my 8 year old Grandson. Flicking through the pages, I found every page to show wonderful pictures demonstrating that the artwork is truly beautiful. I have attached a sample photo of the time when Pooh & Piglet met the Dragon during the Autumn season. The Best Bear in the World is split into the fours seasons, Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer, each with a little story of their own. This little gem of a book is a fantastic addition to any child's book collection and one which can be kept and handed down to generations to come. Just "The Best Bear in All the World."

Winnie-the -Poo
