Superior bird watching binoculars
I purchased this product after many hours of research about internet recomdations, types and quality of binoculars, their purposes, and their prices. My goal was to purchase binoculars which were affordable, very good quality, which were suitable to my overriding objective, a pair of birdwatching binoculars for my beautiful wife, who is over years young. Ultimately, this is the product I selected, and it arrived this morning --- time enough to wrap a Christmas in July (2020) message on the wrapping paper. She was thrilled, and after I got acquainted with the product, I was very pleased that the product met my hopes. It was perfect for my purposes. Incredibly sharp, bright colors and images, easy to use, and with a 2 meter minimum focus range so that she can closely view the birds who daily gather at the end of our front porch to feed. We could easily read car license plate numbers 60 yards away. I did not try further than that. Attaching the halyard (neck strap) was a bit of a challenge, but after viewing several on-line videos, it did get done successfully. I'm not the sharpest pickle in the barrow, but I did get it done. I need to say that these are not heavy binoculars. But my wife has not got a great deal of arm strength, and so she had some difficulty holding them steady. But, with an optional lbrace (through 3rd party suppliers) and with a tripod, both of which are possible with the product, she should be able to watch both the porch birds and those much farther away, any time she wants. I would absolutely buy this product again.

Excellent for Birdwatching
Package arrived on time. A quick check revealed all items were accounted for with no damage. I immediately registered my purchase on the wingspan website for the lifetime warranty and downloaded the bird watching files. I reviewed the instructions regarding making adjustments and did a check of the focus features. The Binoculars have a rubber, nonslip finish. The focus nob has a knurled finish and I like that the right eye diopter adjustment is on the body, not the eyepiece. The screw out eye reliefs work very well and it was easy to get a perfect sight picture. I did not attached the strap provided, instead installing key rings to attach my binocular harness to. I took the binoculars out to the lake for a checkout and found that the field of view and the quality of the optics was excellent. It was easy to pick up small, fast moving targets and the picture was clear and bright both near and far on the marsh and in the forest. The focus between near, middle and distant objects was impressive and the clarity and sharpness was outstanding. Overall, these binoculars are very impressive for the price.

Great binoculars at a great prive for the value
Carried these on my daily 5 mile walk. Didn't feel like I had them on. Too cold for very many birds but the ones I did see jumped out in full detail and high contrast. These glasses even lighten up shaded areas. From a cardinal at 20 feet to an airliner at 20000 feet it was simple to refocus and get a clear crisp image. Also like the thumb grooves on the underside of the barrels, makes it easy to quickly bring them up to look at an object with a solid firm grip. Light and compact enough to fit in a jacket pocket but also easy to have around the neck. Excellent product. Highly recommended.

Best Binos for the Buck?
Factoring in the price-point, these Polaris ED 8 X 42 binoculars could rate five stars. They show some residual chromatic aberration (color-fringing) and spherical aberration (fish-bowling) but not enough to detract from most viewing. They cost only a tenth or even less than top-of-the-line binos that should be essentially free from noticeable optical aberrations. They focus up close. If you have a bird-feeder right outside a window, only two meters or six feet away, you can easily reach focus with these binos and study the colors and shapes of feathers to your heart's content. If hunting, they are so light weight (lighter than the most expensive binos) that they are best for the "buck" here, too! Whether birds in the foreground or large game in the background, the sharpness and clarity of the view in the Polaris ED binos is sure to please. Finally, they are made of robust materials and should hold up well against lots of use outdoors. Update: I like these ED binos enough to have purchased a second set, the first set having gone to a birding friend who recently had new lenses put in her eyes and wanted to celebrate by seeing her avian world through these almost aberration-free Polaris glasses. The second set is for me and replaces three other sets of binos I have now given to various members of the family (West Marine 7 X 50 Porro, West Marine 8 X 32 Roof, Nikon 10 X 50 Porro). So that is probably the highest recommendation a product can receive! I now have only two sets of binos: these Polaris EDs and my Canon 15 X 45 Imaged Stabilized roof prisms. With these two sets, my astronomy and birding needs are covered. I notice that the 8 X 42 Polaris EDs also have a place where an L-bracket can be attached to a tripod: good versatility, although not crucial, given the light weight of the binos. All in all, this is a satisfying product and a great value.

Great binoculars for watching fauna in the forest...
Purchased 1/2017. After reading many reviews of several models and discussing lens quality, depth of field and field of view with my pro photographer husband, I decided that this pair was most likely to meet my "needs." Score-a-rama! I am so excited and pleased to be able to see and enjoy the wildlife around our home as well as I can now! Due to cataracts and general senioritis, unsteady hands, slow focus time, etc., I have not been able to see details of the many birds on our birdfeeders. Pretty much the most I have been able to identify is, yup; it's a bird. Or, oh no! The crows are eating all the suet again! Today I was able to determine that we might have had a purple finch AND a house finch visit. We frequently have bands of deer stroll through. While I usually can spot them in spite of their great camouflage, I thought, today I was spying on the birds at the feeder, I suddenly realized that there was a set of legs within the field of view. As I raised the binoculars, I found a trio of little does kind of hanging around trying to decide whether or not they needed to have some birdseed for breakfast. Shortly after they moved along without sampling the seed, a lovely pair of fully antlered bucks strolled into view. When I observed them without the binoculars, I was unable to even see their antlers due to the background of "twiggy" trees. So much fun! Extended eye cups: great for eyeglass-less viewing Weight: terrific for stablization, not too heavy for my arthritis and carpal tunnel, but weighty enough that when I have my elbows propped on the back of the couch, they don't tend to "float" up Wide viewing field: gives me plenty of time to "look around" within a site to locate birds on a feeder without having to move the binoculars requiring me to re-focus my eyes. Bottom line: Very satisfied with this purchase for viewing bird feeders and other fauna on our property this winter.

Field of view not in crisp focus. Substandard focus performance compared to my Nikon.
Poor focus. The very center of the image is in focus, but the image focus is not crisp away from the center of the lens. This is very noticeable, and does not meet the performance that I am used to from my Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 which I have used for 4 years. Due to the focus issue, I compared this purchase to a brand new pair of Nikon Monarch 5, and there was a noticeable difference. I bought the Skyview due to it having similar specs to the Monarch 5 as a gift for a friend, but am disappointed since they are not equivalent to my personal binoculars. I am assuming there is some error in the lens polishing which is a result of inadequate manufacturing tolerances and a result of the lower cost point. As a birder, I would not use the Wingspan that I received and am returning them. Quality of focus is a major issue.

An exceptional binocular for a reasonable price.
For a mid-grade binocular, these are fantastic. The vividness of color and sharpness of view is the best of any binocular I've ever owned. I purchased these to take camping as my previous pair was stolen. While I didn't appreciate having to buy another pair, I am pleased I purchased this pair. The alignment of optics is perfect and I like that the eyepieces rotate outward, keeping your eyelashes off of the eyepieces. There is no noticeable vignetting or fringing that you'll often see in binoculars. They're not heavy but they are clearly built solid. A lot of thought went into the design with good execution.

Clear, sharp images. Easy to use. Worth every penny.
These are great quality binoculars. Described as light as a feather, durable as a tank, they are easy to focus and the images are sharp & clear (noticeably better than our old Bushnell's). There is an easy to use adjustment for glasses and good instructions for basic operation. There is even an adjustment to compensate for the slight difference between a person's 2 eyes. This was advertised as the last pair of binoculars you'll ever need & I can see why. It comes with a 30 day $ back guarantee & a lifetime warranty. Not sure what else you could ask for. I have to say I am really happy with this purchase.

- lebenslange garantie - also erbstück!

Unbeatable Wingspan customer service.
Excellent product. Clear, easy to hold & focus. Not too heavy. I have no hesitation in recommending this product - in fact a friend has already bought a pair after trying my set. Absolutely brilliant customer service from Wingspan in response to a minor fault.

Nice quality pair of binoculars
Great pair of binoculars, arrived well packaged and exceeded expectations. They are nice weight to hold and the wider lenses make the image bright.
