No grips on the straps but I have never had a issue with it sliding off my shoulders and more than any other backpack

The backpack is made from high quality materials. Yes, it is machine washable. I like it and very recommend.

How many binders can it fit along with my computer in the main holding area

I’m not sure. If you want to carry binders and a laptop, go with the next size up on the backpack, I was disappointed at how small this backpack is.
