Why is this called a gel when it is liquid?

If yours came in liquid form, send it back. The stuff I bought was clearly a gel and it worked perfectly. I even got a fire going while it was raining with wet wood. I think you bought a bad batch.

Absolutely, this item complements a Lotus Grille. Applying the One Match Gel Firestarter over a bed of coals or wood is all that is necessary.

You squeeze the gel out on the wood, BBQ brickets, etc & light. The gel clings so the wood or fuel burns longer than normal. Makes a good wood fire starter!
