Fantastic dash cam with near flawless functionality
I have now owned 6 different dash cams to varying degrees of relative success with them. When I say that this is by far the best I've ever owned, understand that there isn't even a close second place finisher. This camera is perfect for what I have been looking for. Thus far it has worked flawlessly. I love the Magickey that allows you to take an instant snapshot of any event at any time. That, coupled with the constant loop recording, it truly captures everything that occurs. It was SO EASY to set up. Took about 5 minutes to have it up and running, app installed and synced to my phone. The only negatives to mention are a common theme with many other reviews: 1) there should be a way to turn off the distracting bright blue light. 2) and there should be a way to turn off the volume completely. I have to believe that these are functions that they are working to address. I hope. But these are minor issues that do not take away from the overall quality of this camera. Lastly, the parking security feature (motion detection while parked) is brilliant. As long as you have a constant power source, it works great. You can always use a portable power pack/battery charger as a power source. I use it in my parking garage at work to hopefully catch vandals at work. We've had several occurrences lately, thus another reason I needed this feature. I'm extremely impressed with this dash cam and highly recommend it. It's priced right, video quality is stunning and it is loaded with practical features and it's so easy to use - everything is controlled through the app. Definitely 5 stars. ***update: PLEASE READ: I had an issue with the loop recording not recording the whole time. I sent an email and Goluk asked me to mail the T2 in to them to look at it. After about a week, I received a brand new unit - not a refurbished one. Their customer service is absolutely fantastic & everyone I have worked with from Goluk has been so extremely polite and friendly. I can't possibly express this enough... Goluk is absolutely outstanding! I will now be a lifetime Goluk customer.

Nice little camera
Initial impressions are that this is a nice camera that gets the job done. Small, fits nicely behind the rearview mirror, and produces a good image. I especially like the parking security mode feature, this was a major selling point for me. The android app is serviceable. Not the most user friendly thing in the world, it dropped wifi connection to the camera several times. You can muddle your way through using it and finding clips, but it's not a very well designed app and could use a lot of improvements to make it more intuitive. April 2017 Update #1: dropping this down to 2 stars. It might be ok in colder climates, but it became unusable after a day in the Florida sun. It kept having a memory card malfunction, with multiple different memory cards. If it wasn't for the heat issue, it would be a good product, but as it is, I can't use it and have returned it. April 2017 Update #2: Credit to Goluk's customer service, they saw this negative review and contacted me directly to resolve it. They offered a small discount on another camera so that I would give them another chance. I ordered a T3 and will receive it shortly. If I have a better experience, I will upgrade this review. April 2017 Update #3: After many emails with Goluk customer service, I replaced this with a T3 and it is working much better. Overall, I find the dash cam market to be a bit immature in the US. Eg, written instructions for most cams are poorly written or translated, most mobile apps have weaknesses, and some features are missing. That is why this gets 3 stars and not 4 - these are correctable issues, but the product just isn't there yet. That said, it's a good little camera that gets the job done. In this particular market, you'll have a hard time doing better at this price point.

Can’t handle heat very well...
The camera itself was good for the price. Quality both day and night seemed great at first. I installed the Parking Security mode cable and that was a bit of a pain, but that’s car specific, not Goluk’s fault. However, I live near Sacramento and we are seeing 100+ degree heat constantly. I read reviews of people complaining about the heat and Goluk’s response was to say that it has been tested at 170+ or something to that extent. I installed mine over the weekend, and was very happy with it. I always park inside my garage out of the direct sunlight, and driving around to stores on the weekend seemed to not be an issue. However, as soon as I got to work on Monday, I started having issues. Not even an hour outside, and when I came back to the car to get something out I heard the camera repeat “memory card failure.” Now, having read some of the reviews I figured the issue was the memory card that I bough (64GB Sandisk Ultra). However, the camera itself was not responding to anything I did; no WiFi was being broadcast to connect to it, I unplugged it and it kept beeping and telling me “memory card failure” for a while...I tried resetting it with a paper clip and all I got was beeping and cut off talking from the camera. After a few hours, I was able to reset it again and it seemed to be working ok again. The SD card still had a “failure” so I put in the 16GB one that came with the camera. Very next day (yesterday) I took my dog to the vet for a shot. Was literally inside for 15 minutes and came outside to find the same issue...again. I tried the SDs on a camera, and they were totally fine. I saw another review where the seller said that it may be a faulty camera since they’re made to handle much more heat, so I’m hoping I got a faulty one, but in short, this camera can not handle direct sunlight very well. It gets pretty darn hot in my garage in the evening and that seemed to not have an effect on it. Waiting to be contacted by Goluk support.

Fantastic camera, but the app needs some work
Update 4/2/17: The included 16GB flash drive bombed within 1 week, this caused the camera to behave erratically (would freeze up at times). I replaced it with a new 32GB card (which I planned to do anyways) and so far it's been working perfectly. Overall I'm still very pleased with the quality of the camera but hope that they improve the app and setting features. ------- First impressions: the camera has a nice sharp image and there are no blurs on playback like on some other dashcams I've used. I'm overall very impressed with the build quality of the camera. The android app does have some issues with staying connected to the camera, and I wish there were some more settings to adjust on the camera within the app. Pros: - Excellent clear crisp image quality (Even better than some high resolution cameras) - Parking monitor feature (hard to find affordable cameras with pre-buffered parking mode!) - Excellent transfer rate of captured videos to phones via the app (Very slow process on other wifi cameras) - Fantastic build quality, includes dual USB car adapter and 16GB memory card (Should be at least 32GB though) - Audio voice alerts to guide users on camera setup and other alert messages Cons: - Lack of setting adjustment options (See my review of the app below) - Connectivity/firmware update issues on app (See my review of the app below) - Parking mode is not discreet (Lights stay on or flash, camera beeps when motion is detected) - Not a super-higher resolution (Some cameras have gone up to 1440P already) - No support for larger memory cards (64GB max) My review of the app itself (I'd give the app a 3/5): The app works ok but needs some work and I'd like to be able to adjust more settings on the camera... for instance I'd like the ability to turn off all the camera's lights, to turn off the sounds the camera makes when it detects motion or impact, and to turn off the camera's wifi when the parking monitor on (All controllable independently, basically I'd like to make the camera more discreet during parking monitor mode). It is annoying to have to reconnect to the camera's wifi every time I want to reconnect to the camera while I'm still within the app. I had to manually press the camera's reset button in order for the firmware update to be sent to the camera. The "Parking Sleep" mode doesn't appear to do anything, yet it has the exact same description as the parking monitor mode. There are other settings in the app that are not explained at all, and are not self-explanatory. Rating: Camera's build quality, image quality, and features: 5/5 Camera app: 3/5 Combined: 4/5 Bottom line: I've researched dozens of cameras over the past few months, there is no perfect solution for all situations so you have to pick your battles. This is the best camera I've found when balancing price, features, and video quality. If you're looking for an affordable camera with a great parking feature and a good crisp smooth image both day and night then this is an excellent choice. If you're looking for something with parking mode and slightly better image quality then go with the Opia2, but the price jumps up quite a bit compared to this. If you don't care about parking mode and just want something that works well then go for the Viofo A119 (Slightly better image quality at a lower price).

I determined that there was no perfect dash-cam. There was positive and negative reviews on ...
Dashcam Write Up Enough people have asked, so I figured I might as well do a write-up/review on my installation of the dashcam. After reading hundreds of reviews on Amazon, I determined that there was no perfect dash-cam. There was positive and negative reviews on ALL the cameras so I pulled the trigger on the Prime Recommended camera. I then returned it after finding out that it was missing one of the functions that I wanted. So I went back and did more research. The key features I must have were - • Parking Lot sensor – I back my rig into almost every spot I park, and also at home. I wanted to be able to capture someone hitting me if they are pulling into the spot next to me, and if someone walks up to my truck when parked at my house. • 1080p – needed high def. video to even be able to see anything remotely far away like a license plate. • Auto Loop – pretty standard these days, but I noticed some did not have this • Night vision – its dark 16hours a day up in the NW during the winter so not having night vision was not an option. • Small profile – the perfect camera for me is not seen from the driver or passenger seats. • Impact sensor – if I get hit or rear ended I want the camera to save the footage no matter what. • Price – I was looking for under $200 Functions that I did not want or need – • View screen – having a tiny 1.5in screen on the camera I found only added to its size and made the other dash cams larger than they needed to be. My thoughts are that I want this little camera mounted and never touched unless there is some really good or bad reason, and hopefully I will really never need to see the video/footage. At that time, removing the sim card is just as much of a hassle as trying to remove the entire camera to view the footage. Plus I wanted to have the camera hard wired so I would have to have an additional cable to plug in to view, so having a viewing screen was a useless addition for me. • Rear View Camera – My main reason is to capture any parking lot problems and keep an eye on my truck while at home. I back my truck into almost every spot I use so having the rear camera would be nice, but not a requirement in the event of a rear end collision, the forward facing camera should still capture the impact and the time/date. Also after getting the camera I played with the view points and having a large lifted truck, the view is very restricted because of the bed and tailgate. Most footage would be useless as it would not get the license plate info. I also figured if I really wanted to get a rear camera, I could just buy two and mount one in the back. • GPS - If I could have found a camera with this great, but the GPS functionality on my phone is spotty, so I figured these little cameras could not be an improvement on that. Also from my research, the only thing GPS helps people with is figuring the speed, mostly for fighting tickets. Now I am pretty good with math and if I ever really need to fight a ticket that bad, I should be able to use the footage and figure out the distance and time to get my actual speed. Speed = Distance , Time = Distance , Distance = (Speed x Time). Time Speed After returning the first Amazon Prime dash cam due to not having parking lot sensor I ended up choosing the GoLuk T2 after making sure it had everything I was looking for. I got it for a great price and it had all the functions I wanted. It also had a couple options that I didn’t exactly need, but if they worked would be great additions. Initially receiving the camera, I was a little concerned that it was a kiddy camera. The “FUN CAMERA” on the packaging would give it that appearance that’s is more of a toy or go-pro style camera then a dash cam, however after powering it up and playing with it, I am not disappointed whatsoever. The camera is about the size of a C-cell battery, maybe a bit longer, but very small compared to the dash cams that have the video screen. I was a little concerned about the round profile, but it seemed to fit just right under the rear view mirror. From the street it looks as if it’s just part of the truck and OEM. The camera and is virtually invisible to anyone sitting inside the vehicle. It really not noticeable from the street during the day. There is a small blue LED light that stays on and it can been seen at night. If I had to find one complaint this would be it. Having the blue light on, makes it noticeable at night inside the car. I figure I will put a little black electrical tape to cover it up. Hopefully a software update will make that light have the function to turn on/off. I am blown away from the software/app for this camera. For the price it is really above and beyond what I expected. I ran into some challenges when initially setting up the connection but I also tried to do it on my own without the manual. Once I sucked up my pride and followed the instructions, I was able to easily connect and have not had any issues sense. One thing to understand is the camera connects to your phone as if it was a Wi-Fi router, so you can connect to the camera as long as you’re in range of it. Nice feature as I can connect to the camera when my truck is in the garage. BUT you have to know that if your phone is set up to use Wi-Fi to connect to your carrier network (Wi-Fi calling) your phone will not be usable when it’s connected to the camera. Again, not a big deal for me, it’s not like I walk around looking at the camera footage from my dash cam. But I have to remember to disconnect from the camera when I am done. All the images/footage can be downloaded to your phone and reviewed later. Plenty of user settings to configure the camera to your needs. So far I have not been able to find anything really missing at this point. The app is pretty user friendly and easy to navigate. The footage is divided into three groups (Loop, sensor, push button), and so far has captured anything I was looking for. I valet park my truck 46weeks a year and like to be able to review the footage to make sure the valet drivers are not abusing my truck. It also picks up sound which is nice. The camera came with a little button that you push and it auto captures footage and still pictures and will upload them to your phone. At first I thought this was a silly feature and could not see myself using it, but I found that my kid loves it. I have it mounted in the back and he will capture things that are interesting while driving. Keeps him busy and attention on the outdoors instead of a game or tablet. Not a needed function, but I guess this is the “FUN CAMERA” part. Overall if I had one thing that could be changed, it would be the blue light that stays on while in parking mode. At night it can be seen, and draws unnecessary attention to the camera. It is really the only thing that gives the camera away. Without the blue light, the average passerby would never notice the camera. Everyone has different needs when it comes to Dashcam, but for my needs this camera has exceeded my expectations. I also got it while it was on some type of Amazon sale and the price was very reasonable for the functions that it provides. I will try to post a couple pictures in the near future.

It works pretty well.
It works pretty well.... when it works. We have ordered three of these cameras now. The first one I ordered over a year ago and still works great. The others... not so much, and the last one had issues after 1 week. I won't order another but here is my experience... 1. The app to access the camera is not as user friendly as it could be but it was usable. 2. The dash button supplied with the camera is set to take these "wonderful" videos... short clips of whatever you are seeing on the roadway. I think the idea is to be able to capture nice scenery or something. Seems to me that a much better use for the button would be to lock the current file or save it in a specific location like many of the other cameras out there. 3. The g sensor did not work on all 3 cameras. It was so sensitive even on low that when I hit bumps in the road it would beep and save the current file. I did not particularly care for this feature so I left it off. 4. They tend to overheat in direct sunlight and shut down. My first camera has never had this problem, but the second one did all the time. I live in San Diego near the beach. It gets hot here but not that hot. Couldn't imagine someone in a desert or hotter place using this camera reliable. 5. After about 6 months the second camera started saying memory card failure constantly. I would reset the camera or format the micro SD card but a day or two later it would fail again. I tried a new sd card... worked for a week then the same error. Thats when I purchased my third camera thinking maybe it was a fluke and all the problems I have been having were just due to a bad camera. After receiving the new camera, install was a breeze since all I had to do was remove the old camera from the cradle and push the new one in. The new camera even came with it's own SD card. Well, guess what... after only a week we are back to hearing "memory card failure" again. I suppose if you get one that works you will be fine. Ill be returning the latest camera and trying a different brand.

Video produced is good, but some issues with connectivity, and user experience at the app level.
For the price, it does a decent job of recording a 1080p video. Mounted to the window with either the included mount or the optional suction cup mount, the videos are of high quality, even at nighttime. I have a couple of nits though. First, it continually about every other week, corrupts the SD Card. Now, I'm not using the included Samsung 16gb but I am using the same brand EVO 32gb card. So shouldn't be any problem recording video. And for the most part, it's fine -- then inexplicably, it'll alert and say it can't write to the video card. At that point everything stored there is toast, and I have to reformat it, and then it's OK again for several weeks. Second issue -- phone connectivity. I'm using an Android Nexus 6. When you go through the connection process it will connect to the Goluk and the video will be available on the phone for review -- both the live cam and the stored videos. But as soon as I exit the car and then come back in, the Goluk will reconnect to my phone (it says it's connected) but it will not transmit or show video. To fix, I have to forget the Goluk network at the phone level, then find it again, enter the wiFi password again and reconnect just like the first time -- every single time. Really annoying. Another time, something went wrong on boot of the unit and it sat there saying "Hi ... Goluk" (pause 15 seconds) repeat, "Hi ... Goluk" repeat "Hi ... Goluk" repeat for almost 10 minutes. Even after I pulled the plug. That was nice driving down the freeway. Also, the instructions are extremely poor. There's quite a number of settings that have no explanation of what they do. Take the G Sensor settings. Sure there are 3 options there -- but what do they actually *mean*? Not a clue. Or the parking modes. And so on. How to turn off the absolutely annoying chimes (try downloading multiple videos and have *both* the Goluk and your phone chime for every 3 minute clip downloaded at full volume in unison like you just won the price is right.)

BEST CHOICE! Beyond my imagination when i purchased it.I would highly recommend this product to my family and friends!
My friend pointed this dash cam out to me, and i meant to have passed it by because it doesn't include the customary screen you get with most dash cams. I really thought the screen was an essential feature but I have been proved wrong with the Goluk T2 because it pairs so well with my mobile phone. When you connect Goluk with your phone, you can enjoy all the videos via Goluk APP directly. If you want to share the videos to social media, first you need to download them to your phone. The short video take by the remote key is 12/30 seconds, it will download to your phone directly when you open the APP(You also can set don't download automatically). The loop recording video need to download to your phone by manual as they are 3 miniuts per one.It have no inner battery and need power to support it to work. For 24hours parking security, you should buy one voltage regulator cable(cheap) or some battery bank for it's power supply. Quality and workmanship are very good. Video resolution is extremely good, significantly better at night vision, even the license plate and the sidewalk can be see pretty clearly. Although there is no screen, but you can watch the video on the phone app, as well as various settings. When you hold this it really feels like a action camera, but when i am driving,I feel very secure having it in my truck and feel that it will provide me with ample protection. The camera also record audio so I have to be case of what I say. The black wireless button can be mounted wherever you want in the car using the self adhesive pad provided and when pressed will keep a record of the 6 seconds before you pressed it and 6 seconds after you pressed it (12 second recording plus a single still picture) You can set up the G sensor on high, med or low sensitivity to record 12 second segments (again 6 seconds before and 6 seconds after) to record an impact in the URG file. With 64G sd card, it will continuous-loop recording for 12 to 13 hours. Beyond this time it will start to delete segment( 3 minutes per one) and keep loop recording. The manufacturer was very quick with a response to the registration issue, taps "browsing/casual look" instead of "i have Goluk" and then connect his camera directly via tapping the blue button. This way, We can avoid registration. In addition, the manufacturer issue a software apdate in January allowing users to register via a free email, which will solve their privacy concerns.I'm really satisfied with their service. I enjoyed the way this camera looks, feels, and works. I've finally found my perfect dashcam after I did a lot of research on different types of dash cams from the $100 range to the $300 ones.
