Why is the nrr so low? other ear plugs have the maximum of 33 nrr but this only has 22 nrr.

Moldable silicone earplugs, like these, simply mold to your outer ear canals (instead of going down into the ear canal), providing a very comfortable, custom fit.  Conversely, foam style earplugs are inserted down into the ear canal, often resulting in a higher noise reduction rating.  However, many users report that moldable silicone earplugs work as good or better (in their experiences) than other style earplugs that may have higher noise reduction ratings. Aside from that, to bring a product to market, there are many costs, including research and development, certifications, testing, raw materials, tooling, machinery, labor, packaging, shipping, and advertising, warehousing, operating fees, Amazon storage and sales fees, lost, returned and damaged product fees, etc. As of this morning, it costs an average of $4.00 in shipping alone to mail one of these items to a customer’s home. The retail price may fluctuate based on all of these factors. The price may also vary depending on who the seller is, the quantity purchased, whether or not you have Amazon Prime and if shipping fees apply.
