Excellent Product Before and After Cooking
For my first experience making sausage, these casings worked very well. The package was a bit dirty and I bought way more than I needed, but that isn't the fault of LEM. As another reviewer mentioned, they are in 2 - 3 foot sections which worked out well for my stuffing funnel. For someone with a large stuffer and a non-tapered horn, I could see this being a problem. The skins had next to no odor after soaking overnight in the fridge and in warm water for 30 minutes. When cooked up, they are not chewy like many store bought sausages. I didn't have any blowouts while stuffing, but one split while cooking. This was most likely caused by over-stuffing. I will definitely purchase these again, but next time I will buy a pack that is just enough for the quantity of meat I am stuffing.

These casing hold up well.
So far so good. My first time making my own sausage and the Lem casings seem to be holding up really well. The instructions to prepare for use are user friendly. Will update once I cook them and taste them. Update. Iโm no pro just a guy with some time and YouTube. And now I feel like Gordan Randy. The casings have a perfect snap and butcher quality links. I smoked some cured 50/50 pork beef smoked sausages and grilled some mild Italian sausages at high heat. The casing split on the grill not burst it was negligible and really my own doing. Canโt go wrong with these for do it yourself sausages at home. The bloom really brings out that mahogany color in the link. Zero complaints.

Great casings !
Just stuffed 3+ pounds in the LEM HOG casings. These are great casings at a good price. They are as thick as advertized (32 - 35 mm) and better quality than others I have bought previously. And they were nicely packed so I was able to separate strands easily, which is not always the case. The two individual strands I used were each about 5 - 6 feet long and one plus a half of the other handled the 3.75 lbs of sausage I mixed. There areat least ten more strands now stored for later use.

Come cut in 2 or 3 ft sections not continuous.
Ok, overall quality is good packed 20lbs of bratwurst. Down side is that they are not continuous casing, There are cut in 2 or 3 ft sections. You will have to continue to put new casing on stuffing horn. Soaked for approximately 4 hours, then 45 minutes in warm water. I ended up placing several casings on stuffer horn. Seemed to work better that way. Would highly suggest to do the same it prestretches casing and ultimately made it an easier process. Casing is thin but works well if you gently handle it. Had 4 burst in stuffing process out of 20 lbs not bad. Smoked up sausages and vacuum sealed them to freeze. Overall good product but misleading as they do not state it's cut in 2 or 3 ft lengths. Make sure to do ice bath after you smoke them as it makes the casing snap as you bite in.
