Why in the world did ai not have this months ago?
I did some research regarding oil extractors before I made this purchase. This comes with a venturi which creates a vacuum from pressure generated from an air compressor. One may also use the manual pump function, if you don't have a compressor (or you could just purchase a compressor, which you can use to inflate tires of all sizes, operate pneumatic tools, spray paint, blow air to clean many things). I was astonished to see how easy and complete the extractor functioned. Assembly took 3 minutes. I used it to extract oil on my Mercedes. Typically, the oil filters on European cars are visible under the hood. I've been driving this car up on ramps for years. But yesterday, I assembled the tool, (note: the main plug through which the oil drains into the extractor and through which one pours the oil into a container for recycling twists on counterclockwise); turned on the compressor, and the oil began to flow. In 5 minutes, I was ready to change the oil filter. Removed the cap from the canister, replaced the filter and o-rings, torqued down the cap, and measured the oil digitally from the dashboard. Done in minutes, with no oil spilled. (I found the oil drain plug location from a Youtube video). Mercedes doesn't really want you to know how easy this is. Mine is black in color, about 3" long and located toward the back of the engine on the passenger side, near where the transmission plug is located and just above the latter, which has a red dot. You can tell that you are extracting oil rather than transmission fluid by its color, smell, and feel. Replace plug, oil filler cap after filling with the appropriate oil. I love this device; I purchased the largest, since I plan to do multiple kids cars without draining. Smaller ones are quite a bit less. Extractor is sturdy, no fear of collapse under vacuum.

Consideration when not using product with vacuum pump
Works great. Works better with vacuum pump, creating better suction of fluids leftover in oil tank. If using without vacuum, my recommendation is to add one bottle new oil to flush out residue dirty oil with hand pump. Pending on auto oil pan, approx 4 quarts remains in bottom of pan where plastic hose can not be directed to pick up remaining oil. Adding fresh oil to flush out residue oil is best if you want proper oil change and maintain the viscosity of fresh homogenous oil. Otherwise, your mixing approx 4 quarts of used up oil with whatever liters of fresh oil you put in. And if you don't check dip stick, you run into problem of adding too much oil, because the residue oil volume was not accounted for. Overall, easy to use and set-up.

Not Very Good, I do not recommend
I purchased this oil extractor to replace an old extractor (different brand), I liked that this tank was large and would hold more fluid. I received this oil extractor a few days ago 03/26, I operate a mobile lawn mower service, and started using it on 03/30, it worked great at first and used it a couple of times the first day, then about 3 times the second day. At my last stop today after I had drained the engine oil from the riding mower I was servicing. I was going to put the extractor away and had left the pump handle up about 6 inches. When I pushed the pump handle down oil shot out each side of the pump handle, spraying oil all over the equipment, driveway and myself. The tank is only about 1/3 full so it can't be from being overfull, I don't have any idea how oil got into the pump. It's useless now, I don't even know how I could ship it back now that it's had used engine oil in it. Expensive JUNK!

Game Changer with the Compressor Fitting
I use this product to suction the oil out of my jetskis for oil changes yearly. In the past, I used a manual suction tank that I had to constantly pump to remove the oil from the pan and pto. It was a pain and I am usually doing this in the Florida sunshing/heat. Old nasty oil going everywhere, heat, and malfunctioning tools are a recipe for anger. I saw this pump and noticed it was a bit more for the air compressor fitting, but as I have a compressor I gave it a shot. Arrival and packaging were top notch. It came with all the parts I needed so I hooked everything up and flipped the switch. PURE MAGIC. The compressor creates vacuum and all of the old oil was sucked out in a matter of a few minutes. No mess, no constant pumping, no swearing. It was amazing. Old oil is collected in the canister and I just take the whole thing to the recycling center to dump. Great product and a game changer for oil changes. I am also going to use on my lawnmower and kids go kart when the time comes. No mess oil changes are the only way to go.

Needs at least 40 PSI and pretty high cfm
Purchased this to empty the hydraulic oil tank of a piece of equipment in my yard. Tried to use a small portable compressor but it wouldn't generate enough cfm. Was fortunate enough to be able to reach with my shop compressor air. Product description does not tell you how much CFM you need.Wasn't able to suck hydraulic fluid manually. Does work pneumatically with enough CFM but is kind of slow. Five or so gallons took at least half an hour.Might work better with heavier oils if they provided a long enough large diameter tube. They provide three tubes of descending diameters which connect end to end. The largest diameter, which is attached to the tank, is really not long enough to reach into anything without bending and kinking it. You then connect the smaller diameter tubes to that one but they really aren't big enough for heavier oils. It would work better if they provided a longer length large diameter tube or more than one to extend its length.Other than that issue it does seem to be reasonable quality.

not the fastest but works great
As i get older i am no longer enjoying laying on the garage floor to change oil. It is slow...but it gets the job done. I actually use it more for my small equipment like mowers and tractors and such. Very well made, quality product. The air hose attachment is a nice touch but not really necessary as the hand pump works quite well. You do not literally pump out the oil. You use the pump to create a vacuum and then walk away as it slowly sucks out the oil. I really am happy i got this for my garage.

ONLY extracts - no dispensing - but solid build!
Time Saver:makes doing an oil change a breeze.only takes out the oil, but does not dispense it like an older version of this type of device.Simpler:this model actually takes out alot of complexity with these types of devices. the prior device i had was able to dispense and extract, but also alot of leak points. And if oil ever got into areas of where they're not supposed to be, expect rapid deterioration of seals. replacement parts were pricey from the mityvac people - so i opted to buy this replacement instead.with this extractor you can either use the built in manual pump to pull out the air and create your vaccuum. Or you can use a quick disconnect compressor/vaccuum hose to create vacuum. the fittings and holding canister feels very solid. the canister iteself despite holding 15 L is not much larger than the 8 L i used to have.Emptying:The emptying of the contents is pretty simple. Theres a rubber stopper to keep things inside. As a precaution, i add 1 stroke on the manual hand pump to "pull" on that stopper and keep it in place during transport for disposal. When i actuall have to dump out the oil, i just press the release valve and the stopper becomes removeable.

Faulty
The pump failed after just one use. The handle bar pump came apart and leaked oil, creating a mess. Customer support provided photos to help with reassembly, but the pump still did not work properly afterward.I was disappointed with the product quality and durability, especially since the issue appeared to stem from the design. I also had a frustrating experience trying to get warranty support, as my claim was not resolved to my satisfaction. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this product.

Big vaccum, love it
Its been a year of vaccum. I use it multiple time at least 100 times for oil change and bleeding brake. The vaccum don't leak and its in great shape !

A clean way to suck up any fluids
Dismantled an engine, sucked away oil pools within the engine, sucked away coolant from the heads and then used it to such out all the brake fluid.A great clean way of doing a job. Perfect and a must have item.
