I bought this for my anxious boy during the fireworks season the seem to start earlier and earlier each year. He is a rescue from Afghanistan and has a great fear of loud noises and will bark and run around the house scared all evening when the booms are happening. I was skeptical that a shirt would keep him calm and didn’t want to spend the big bucks on the name brand product. So I opted for this one and so glad I did! Shipping was quick and measurement chart was pretty accurate. The shirt is a little long but the Velcro is amazingly secure. Only drawback is the neck closure is a little funky with the fabric ring and not completely attached, but mine came with an extra ring so I’m not worried about this. Overall, completely satisfied with this product. The first night my doggo with the shirt he barked at the first three fireworks then went and laid in his bed and seemed to relax and not be bothered by the loud booming any longer!! I definitely was surprised I’m not going to lie…

Ordered a medium as I have a Chewennie that weighs over 20lb. It Fit her nicely. Tried this out for fireworks and it did nothing for her at first. She still hid under our bed. I do feel however that since she managed to come out from under the bed with some coaxing, that it did help for a brief few minutes. Hopefully after she wears this for a while, things will improve. Item is made well and is easy to put on. Time will tell.

Cheaply made for the price. Biggest issue is the velcro. It is very thin and held on with single stitching. It lacks backing so e very time you try to undo it you feel like the velcro is going to come off. The lack of backing for the velcro also stretches both sides (hook and loop) resulting in snap back agai st the dog. Mu dog does not care for that at all.

One of my dogs didn't seem to mind this, the other froze right after I put it on them. The velcro also scared him. It fits a little weird. Around the neck it was a little big, but around the stomach fit ok. It was hard to put on. You would think it would be easier to put on the neck first, but it makes the body not fit right.

My rescue dog, who I got in February, is terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks. I bought this “hugger” to help her feel calm. I haven’t had a chance to test whether she will actually calm down, because it just came today. But it fits her perfectly, is very easy to put on and take off, and she seems to like it! I am hoping it will help calm her and allow her to feel less fearful. She is pictured wearing it with an anxiety-relieving hood, another highly recommended calming item that arrived today and which I will review separately. For reference, she is 53 lbs and has a 27” chest girth; I bought her size L. It’s perfect.

With my dog it's always been a struggle when it comes to storms and especially during the fourth of July until I got this. My dog typically shakes pretty violently, pants and hides during storms and when fireworks are going off. I got this vest in preparation for the 4th of July to give him some sort of an easement during it and it worked great! It brought his shaking down so much and his panting after I put it on him when the fireworks started, he was even comfortable enough to stay close to me and not try to run and hide like every time before. It was easy to put on him and stayed firmly around him while also being able to comfortably move around without restrictions. Afterwards i tossed it in the wash. I didn't need any special soaps for it or an overcomplicated way to wash it for ease of cleaning. The durability help up great even after a bunch of storms this year and constant ware and cleaning it.

Very happy with this shirt. Really works. My dogs stress has been decreased. Nice quality a good value for the money.

My dog has ptsd from his previous owner’s abuse toward him. He is terrified of my very loving son, just because he’s a man. We put the vest on and he stopped shaking almost immediately and then started to fall asleep sitting up. We were pleasantly surprised! Will keep trying him in it, it certainly seemed to provide relief right away. Like a portable hug. He’s 6lbs but super skinny and the smallest size works well for him.

I purchased two of these for my sister's dogs. The excellent quality and ease of fitting have impressed my sister. The dogs have worn them recently for a thunderstorm and it calmed them both. Previously they had to be held until the storm was over.
