Pearl Mantels 418-72 Homestead Mantel Shelf, 72-Inch, Unfinished, 72 Inch

I ordered this mantel unfinished to make sure I had the right stain color to match the rest of my molding. I noticed a pretty long scratch along the top about 3 inches but you couldnt feel it with your finger. I sanded it lightly with no results. My mason guy was coming the next day so I went ahead and conditioned, stained, sanded, polyed, and sanded again. Scratch still shows. I have strategically place a candle over it. Dissappointed that it was shipped that way. But overall it does look really nice, with nice curves.

I stained it and it looks great. The only issue was that the installation instructions were lacking. That being said, it was clear that mounting hardware was not included.

Very nice mantel. Hanger board doesn’t allow mantel to sit flush against the wall.

It is substantial without being bulky. Stained it myself and it came out GREAT! Love it!

This beautiful mantel arrived promptly and in excellent condition. Very sturdy and well built. It is a wonderful addition to our living room.

Looks great, was easy to install

The supposed hardwoods of the mantle were different for each section. They had to be stained separately and ended if having to be darker than I actually wanted to hide the mismatches. I am very experienced at staining and it took 3 colors and 5 days to achieve an acceptable look. If you are wanting a lighter color wood dont get this one. If you want a dark wood with time and patience you can make it work.
