The 5-stars is really for the seller, M Kitchen World. I mean, the stick are really great, too. They are super long, sturdy, and compact nicely. Really, they are exactly what I wanted. If you've got something fairly heavy, like two large sausages or something, you have to get them really well balanced or they just spin to have the heaviest part face down. That's rough if you are trying to evenly roast something. Keep in mind, that is a flaw of nearly any extendable roasting stick, not specifically this one. I've had them for just about 3 years now, but the fork end came out of the extendable stick on one of them about 6 months or so ago. It was still useable, as the fork part had a rod that stuck inside the extendable tube; you just couldn't pull on the fork, or it would come out. Then, last night I noticed the same stick had another issue. The larger diameter tube came out of the base handle tube. Still, you could stick it back in, but it wouldn't stay attached, so with two parts like that, it made the stick more difficult to deal with. So, I contacted the seller, since they said they have a lifetime warranty. Being 3 years now, and seeing they didn't have them in stock, I didn't hold out much hope that they would do anything for me. But, the very next day, they give me a FULL REFUND. Even though only one of the set was broken. They said they couldn't send me a new one, so they hoped the refund would make it right. I'm very pleased, and happy to buy from a company with such solid support. I'd definitely buy from them again. If they carry these again, I'd buy another set, as I could use a few more. Well done.

Purchased as a gift for my wife after reading many reviews of different similar products. The roasting forks are a nice size, fit comfortably in the hand with the rubberized sleeve for the handle, and extend to a good length. They do get a little wobbly at full extension but that is to be expected based on the build. For marshmallows this should be no big deal...I would be cautious with hot dogs. The rubberized handle is nice but it is a "sleeve" with the finger ridges essentially bubbles and squishable. Forks are not too sharp but you'll get yourself if not careful. The carry bag is nice but thin so I can see it not lasting too long if we are not careful. It's screaming to have a fork tine drive right through it since we accidentally tossed the rubber covers. (our fault in the madness of Christmas morning clean-up!...we had roasted marshmallows on the low coals in our wood stove.) Overall, very pleased with the purchase and would recommend. Update 9/15/17: The roasting forks are still going strong though we have lost several of the protective tip covers (tiny buggers can disappear easy!). They have been fairly easy to clean, the sticks are holding up well, and my kids can use them easily. I have noticed the rubberized handles starting to slip a bit but nothing that causes me concern. Still wish the carry bag was a little more robust. Overall, however, I have been very pleased with using them both outdoors and indoors (roasting marshmallows over coals in wood stove in winter!) and have chosen to upgrade my review from 4 stars to 5.

These are awesome and quite genius! When they arrived in a padded envelope I thought I would be disappointed because I was expecting long sticks that were well made...well that is EXACTLY what they are. These sticks go from 1 ft to 4 ft and can handle 6 marshmallows, or 2 hot dogs, or 1 burger...we tried it all! :) Solid product. The handles are comfortable for adults. We didn't try them with kids yet. What is great is that they retract so small that all 5 fit in a small nylon bag for easy storage. Best part of them is that even though they were left out over night with burnt marshmallow on them, they cleaned very easily! They are made in china though :(

These marshmallow roasting sticks are pretty effective for roasting regular marshmallows. The telescoping handle works well, slid smoothly, and seemed pretty well made. The junction of the roasting tines to the handle is a single spot weld. Ours seem solid so far, but I can see that there could be a problem. The tines are heavy duty, and certainly strong enough for any marshmallow. The coating on the handle gives a secure grip; however, the diameter is rather small, and is a little awkward to maintain a firm hold for any lengthy period. The length of the telescoping handle is great to get well away from the heat of the campfire; the weight of the stick itself is enough to cause it to bow, even without added weight on the end. I tried regular and extra large marshmallows, which worked with ease. I also tried roasting hot dogs; that did not work as easily. The short length of the tines and the angle between the tines do not permit a secure hold on any meat, or heavy chunks of fruit (roasted fruit is great.) I did also coat the tines with non-stick coating before roasting; I believe it made it easier to remove the marshmallows. One of the roasting sticks is discolored from heat, because it was held directly in flames. Those that were positioned over coals have not been discolored by single use.

These are a surprisingly well thought-out solution to the age old problem: how do I keep my kids from setting themselves on fire when we're camping? One solution used to be letting them used sharpened sticks to cook marshmallows, hot dogs, etc. But that opened a whole different problem: how do I keep my kids eyes intact when there are pointy and flaming wooden sticks around? And that's not even counting the myriad finger-integrity issues that came up if I let them sharpen the sticks themselves. These forks are surprisingly, even possibly unnecessarily long. But they are perfect for their task in a build-a-better-mousetrap sort of way. I'm really happy with them so far, and they're a great price for how long they'll last compared to the lightweight coathanger looking ones sold by better known outdoor brands.

These are AWESOME!!!!! They come with little covers on the end to keep them clean & safe - genius! The extendable stick is perfect to allow you some safe distance from the fire for roasting, but close nicely for easy storage. The handles are comfortable and colorful (which is not just an aesthetic benefit - it also make them easier to find when dropped in the grass). The storage bag is great for keeping them all together and organized. We love to sit around our fire-pit or a camp fire with our kids and roast food (marshmallows, sausages, hot dogs, etc) and these are PERFECT for that. I plan to order more of these and gift them to family members and friends too - they are FABULOUS!

These are awesome!! We do s'mores at the fire pit almost every week. These are so much better than using the bamboo sticks/skewers. Cleanup is easy, bag comes with them to store/protect them. Length is great especially around our fire pit which is 4Ft in diameter so it tends to get a bit warm to be too close. This product does not end up getting too hot to hold as I was worried about since they were metal. Only the very last segment gets warm and the end prongs get hot. Just be careful when removing the marshmallow since the extra prong might get your hand in the dark if you are not paying attention. Great Buy!!

I purchased these to have on hand for events with a women's group I participate in. They work ok. I like that they are so easy to transport. When I use them, I find them convenient and trusty. But I can't really rate them that well. A member of my group broke one of the sticks when trying to figure out how to expand the telescoping feature on her own. They're not sturdy. I knew the risk when buying but... I figured adult women could be gentle on these things. Apparently not. I don't recommend getting these unless the only people you're sharing them with are super conscientious, patient, and gentle. Or if you are willing to provide careful supervision!

Really good, really sturdy, I just wish they were a bit longer. These were the longest ones I could find but I still singe my fingers sometimes

Brilliant forks, used several times now and no burnt fingers for the various children using them. The little storage bag is fab, they are easy to clean and all in all well worth the money. The last time we used them, one of the fork pieces fell off the extending stick part- I emailed the company to ask if it was possible to get a replacement and they emailed me back to say they had and sent out a whole new set, fantastic customer service- I’m very impressed and will be buying more sets as presents in the future

First time we are out to use them and the top pops off!!! grrrrrrrrr

We bought these as a gift for a friend that was going camping with her two children. She felt a lot happier letting them grill marsh mallows on the open fire without her boys getting too close. Would buy again.

My kids loved toasting marshmallows over the fire with these, they are good quality and give you peace of mind that they can keep a good distance from the fire.
