The Salt Mine - Red Sea Salt Blend 5 lb.

Description

Red Sea Salt Blend is a blend of specific component salts, balanced in precise ratios to accurately reproduce inorganic water chemistry of the open Red Sea prior to Industrialization, the widespread use of fossil fuels, and the gradual release of industrial effluent into the environment.Mixed to 40 ppt, the formulation yields carbonate hardness and pH values which predate Ocean Acidification values. TSM Red Sea Salt Blend is not evaporite (residual salt after evaporating all water from a sample); it is a formulated blend of components that is produced entirely within a laboratory setting, in the United States. This product is available in 5-, 25-, and 50-lb sizes. 5 lbs. of Red Sea Salt Blend will produce 40 ppt salinity in a total volume of 14.39 gallons.100% of the component salts are sourced in the North America, and meet or exceed Food Chemical Codex purity standards.Values of major and minor ions when mixed to 40 ppt using water purified to remove all impurities are as follows:Chloride 21,980 ppmSulphate 3,075 ppmSodium 12,212 ppmMagnesium 1,460 ppmCalcium 468 ppmPotassium 452 ppmStrontium 8.6 ppmIodine 0.063 ppmIn addition to 10 primary components utilized in the formulation, Red Sea Salt Blend makes use of 27 component salts which contribute specific minor and trace elements in proportions matching values observed in the open waters of the Red Sea.
