'LLT LED Compact Floodlight with Arm SMD Outdoor Landscape Security Waterproof 30W 5000K (Daylight)

I held off on reviewing this product until it had a few weeks of use. I purchased this light to replace an old HID fixture that had illuminated my property for many years. The fixture is connected to a dusk-to-dawn light sensor, so it does put in a fair amount of hours each week. I am currently up to about 6 weeks and I have had no issues with this light fixture. My initial observation was that the light seemed solid and well put together. I took the advice of other reviewers and orders a box of "The Hillman Group 44462 M4-0.70 x 10 Metric Stainless Steel Button Socket Cap Screw, 20-Pack" screws from Amazon to replace the ones that have been noted to be an issue. They delivered in the same box as the light. 20 screws are more than need for one light, but I now have them on hand for when I order 2 additional light fixtures. I was concerned about the brightness of the fixture prior to installing it. I know this is somewhat subjective, but this is an extremely bright light. It easily exceeds the light level of the 100 watt sodium HID. It also provides very evenly distributed white light. The only concern is same wire issue that others have noted. I have wired other household light fixtures that have come with feet of extra wire. This fixture came with 4 inches of usable wire. Considering the low price of the fixture and the low operating cost, extending the wires is an investment that I am able and willing to make to be able to use this light. I would recommend this light fixture. You won't find anything comparable to it at your local big box hardware stores.

Have already purchased 4 of the 30w and 4 of the 20w to replace incandescent floods on the perimeter of our home. These 2 are part of the ongoing "modernization" of our exterior lighting. They are BRIGHT! The ones presently installed fool our infrared security cameras into thinking it's day time and they switch to "daylight" mode. I have mounted the 30w lights on the existing flood locations under the eaves and they provide a lighted area where "house cat sized" animals are clearly in view at a measured 50 yards so an intruder will be readily visible. Only con: I wish there was a gimbal(swivel point) on the back of the light too for more flexibility in aiming. This is far outweighed by the high light output and lower energy costs. Will be buying more.

I love having spotlights on my house and have 7 mounted to the peaks of my Cape Cod and garage, all on one switched circuit. They were all mounted via ½” threaded connections to waterproof surface mount boxes. The problem was they were all 150/200W halogens and 90W PAR38’s. While they had advantages – instant on, bright, cheap, good color temp, they also had disadvantages – frequent bulb failure requiring a 28’ ladder climb, high current draw. The disadvantages drove me to look for a good replacement which early on only meant CFL and they didn’t make sense. After spending a lot of time searching for a comparable LED flood, this one was the best I could find because it met the following requirements: LED, waterproof, ½” conduit connection (many had an SO/SJ cord tail), internal P/S, priced right. I purchased 6 – 5, 30W and 1, 50W. Here’s my observations – Pros: -They’re constructed of cast and machined aluminum - quite solid. -The powder coat appears well applied. -They have a very well designed ½” conduit connection stub. It can be removed and mounted tightly in an electrical box. It has an O-ring seal at the thread shoulder. (I added a knockout nut on the inside after I tightened it to give it an extra level or security) - Once installed in the box, the fixture can then be mounted to the connection stub (it has another O-ring where the stem of the fixture mates to it) and rotated in any direction. – In my case left/right. - The fixture has a very sturdy articulation joint (The screw actually looks a bit oversized) allowing it to move/rotate – in my case forward/backward -Very low current draw (duh) – total current draw now is equal to ONE of the previous halogen bulbs - As I said above, 150/200W halogens were replaced and the luminous flux from the LEDs is very sufficient if not a hair better. Cons: -The wires ARE too short, especially the ground wire. I kick myself now for not checking to see if the case was bonded to the ground wire, which if one wanted, could use the case ground to the box. I suspect it is but I wire nut-ed on a longer ground anyway and made the ground connection anyway. The white and black are just long enough – but could be a bit longer. -The 30W version I received have about a ½ second delay when switched on. The 50W comes on instantly. Not a big deal to me. -They only come in Brown - I would have preferred white to match the house fascia – but not a huge deal. I contemplated painting them but quickly woke up. -They are heavy – probably due to all the aluminum casting – a bit too heavy for my taste. Not really a problem but it makes wiring them while hanging onto that 28’ ladder a bit more tricky. -Color temp is very white – 5000k. I prefer warmer (indoors of course) but for floods the color works fine. Comments: - Many negative reviews noted the screws holding the articulation arm to the housing failed – I did not find any issues with them. I will concede the unit is heavy and if the head was struck with enough force it’s possible the screws could strip out of housing. I checked them and felt any force sufficient to strip out the screws would be far from normal. - Many of the negative reviews noted the housing seal failed and moisture entered the units. I carefully checked this and cannot understand how this could happen: after removing the bezel and it’s screws I found there is a “tub” the guts sit in and the screws fit into the housing casting outside of this tub. The glass is very well adhered to the rim of the tub with a well applied clear silicone bead. There is no way to enter the tub without cutting the silicone bead. I see no way for water to enter between the glass and the housing given the integrity of the silicone. I will concede that all of mine are mounted vertically (head up) and are all clear of moisture after having installing them in October of 2016. My humble opinion is that those experiencing moisture infiltration may have them mounted in such a manner that moisture can enter through the articulating arm or the box itself - the arm, or united mounted upside down. But that’s just a guess on my part. -I thought the reflector was a bit shallow and might throw light too wide but after using them they cast light quite nicely. Bottom line: Given the price and the functionality of these fixtures, they are turned out to be an excellent and better replacement for my halogen floods. I would buy again and I recommend them. 3/19 UPDATE: Two of theses light failed - one 30W and the 50W. Keep in mind that we do not switch these on very often but recently I had a BSA troop over doing some scout stuff and the lights were on for an hour or so. Very frustrated that I have two dead fixtures. Mostly because I have to climb a ladder to replace these - something I thought LED floods would make obsolete. Failing after 28 months of intermittent use is disappointing. Furthermore, I reached out to the seller twice with no response back. For my troubles and the failed product I have to shave off two stars.

Bought 2 of these for a storage area. The lights are very sturdy (not the mount) and bright. The connection screws pulled out on one and I was going to return it. I read the reviews beyond the stars and repaired with longer screws. I made an assumption that the lights were "dusk to dawn", wrong. If you want a 24/7, bright led light, that is metal and weatherproof, this is it. The short screws were manufactures problem and the 24/7 was my mistake. But overall the size, heft and coverage makes this at least 4 stars.

I bought 5 of these to begin with. I'm ordering more now. They are the 50W units. Other than being heavy (and rather large) I can't seem to find anything wrong with them. Very well engineered. Wires are plenty long. They are very bright and white light. Beats the heck out of those yellow bulbs that burn out every few months and are expensive to run. I'm going to set these up inside the shop as well. I love em. I'm going to light the compound up like a big-box store parking lot and get rid of these pole mounted sodium lights.

The lights work as advertised, giving a nice flood of LED light that should be maintenance free for years. I agree with other reviewers about the screws though. I had to replace the both the screws that hold the arm to the head, and the screw in the pivot. They are cheap metal and not quite long enough. I purchased new screws a hair longer from the local hardware store, and used blue thread lock for extra insurance. We're using 4 of these on the ground to light a sign, so they will likely be bumped a bit. Update 12/11/17 - the screws and threads have failed on all 4 lights. The lights are nice, but the build quality is a fail. avoid.

I ordered two of these lights and a third LED floodlight from a different vendor. One of these arrived with a broken adjustable arm. The cheap metal was broken in half and the packaging was in perfect condition--it was clearly shipped defective. I was denied a refund because the light was "lost" --after UPS picked it up to return. I'm sore about it, but you should know that you can return a broken item to these guys, but they'll lose it and blame it on you. Now for the objective: The light has a some serious design flaws. The leads were too short and difficult to work with. The ridges on the adjustable arm are too fine compared to LED floodlights from other companies, so the light tends to slump over and not stay where you put it. The case is absolutely huge for the amount of light it puts out. One of the lights I ordered is still working, but I'll be replacing it with a smaller competitor's design soon for the better light quality, color, and size. The black plastic case does look faded after 2 months in the sun.

I replaced an old 23 watt florescent floodlight (which 20 years ago replaced a 100 watt halogen incandescent) with this 20 watt LED version. It was easy to replace the old one. It provides a very similar lighting pattern. Although the shaft was 0.5 inch as specified, the thread was different from the two previous fixtures, but the LED fixture came with a compatible nut. This is supposed to last at least 30,000 hours - which is similar to the life span the old florescent light fixture experienced before its ballast died (the replacement ballasts are no longer made), and the florescent fixture required its bulb to be replaced 5 times at $10 per bulb, so this fixture should save money on bulbs and electricity.

These are great lights. I replaced 500w halogen fixtures with these and I’m very pleased. The 50w versions are much brighter, but for the price, the 30w works great.

bought 2. both stopped working , consistent with other reviews. Contacted company. No refund issued yet after 6 months. Poor quality product, poor service. Product was within 2 year warranty.

These lights appear to be built really well and seem good value for the money. My previous lights allowed water in, so time will tell if these flood lights are better. Good brilliance and spread. Unfotuneately, one light failed after approx 12 months (water infiltration). Amazon accepted it as a return with refund, but on checking, the price had gone up to $80 for a replacment. These lights have a 2 year warranty, I may have been better off to contact the manufacturer?

This light was great, until it stopped working less than 2 1/2 years after it was installed.
