The thickness and quality of the plastic is very good. The two handles at the top make all the difference in getting the anchor into the sand deeply. The screw to hold the umbrella pole is thick and, so far has done an excellent job not breaking and holding the pole in place under strong beach winds. The five spiral screw rings are wide and thick. Having five does a much better job holding the anchor into the sand than many other anchors. We have found screwing the anchor into the sand all the way down to as close to the top handles does the best job of holding the umbrella when the wind gets strong. It takes a little time, but is absolutely worth the time. You do not have to press hard, just be patient in turning and applying a little downward pressure onto the anchor. We bought two of these and have been very satisfied.

We recently purchased and used this sand anchor to hold the patio umbrella we took to the beach for a week in Florida. It worked perfectly each day. Easy setup and tear down. The umbrella is heavier than other beach umbrellas since it is a standard patio umbrella with a 1.5" OD post. The sand anchor is light which is excellent because, as you can see, we carry quite a lot to our beach spot to set up. It is solid and sturdy and securely holds the umbrella in mild to medium wind all day.

We live near the Great Lakes and the beaches are usually windy. While other beachgoers umbrellas fly away on windy days, ours stay put with these. Easy to use and fit in my beach bag.

Ok, at first I was like we dont need this, however we got to the beach and it was perfect for our umbrella! Made beach life easy! I cant beleive I waited this long to get one of these. If you go to the beach this is a have to have for umbrellas! Now I keep it in my beach tote for year after year. YOU NEED THIS!

I took this to the beach on a very windy day and really didn’t expect it to work as well as it did. My umbrella blew inside out but it didn’t leave the sand and fly away. Highly recommend.
