does it need extra care? damascus steel tends to rust.

Yes and no, this is a stainless steel damascus core so it's less prone to rusting than your typical high carbon content damascus. However you do need to clean/dry the blade after any use that might get the blade moist because it can still rust. I just wipe it down with a microfiber if it gets wet. Problem solved

Are Katsu knives made in China or Japan?

From the Katsu knives website: “ We source premium materials from locations around the world, some of which feature the legendary Japanese AUS10 & VG10 core. Our blades are forged and crafted meticulously in YangJing, China. YangJing is a renowned city with 1500 years of knife crafting heritage.”

What kind of steel is the blade made of? And is it harden steel ?

It is genuine AUS-8 core damascus steel blade, and of course it is harden steel.

Is this true daamascus steel or just a print on the blade?

True. You can see the core steel down the spine of the whole blade and feel the ridges. Super sharp with a little first touch up when you get it. Super impressed. Buying one for my dad and best friend as gifts.
