This set should probably have 4.5 stars, as the primary complaint I have is just that some of the pieces in the set are things I can't see a use for right now. But who knows? I saw reviews complaining about the hose/tap splitter's durability, which is something I have had no problems with. Admittedly my usage is light, as the irrigation systems it is attached to are generally turned on and off at the main tap, and eventually by a timer. It's also in a sheltered spot right by the house and isn't subject to frosts etc. We tend not to water much at that time of year, as nature in the UK has watering more than covered. as we have small weather proof boxes that double as seats close to there, any vulnerable bits could easily just overwinter in there and come back out in spring, along with all the various sprays and feeds that get deployed on the plants. As something we use in the better months, this is fine. The cheaper plastics could I guess be more vulnerable to either significant cold or significant heat and UV, or direct sun. That remains to be seen, as we've used these components for just a year and they are all fine. They are directly compatible with Hozelock fittings, which we use generally around the garden. As we were setting up this experimental irrigation system, investing in Hozelock fittings was significant enough to warrant finding less expensive options for connecting up small hose systems and weeper hoses. As we wanted to put away some of the hose runs in winter, there were mid-hose connections to make (some sections are always there) and the connector costs mount up. So far, it has worked out, with no leaks (provided the connections are made firmly and with sufficient force (if you're pushing the naked cut end of a hose onto a fitting it takes a reasonable amount of pressure to make the connection good. There's no problem using any of this kit provided you know what the parts are actually for, and all indications to date are that the components will last well enough to justify the cost involved. It was a way to make a short term check of how viable this irrigation idea was going to be, and to experiment with hose runs and jointed sections that might feed to another network of finer pipes for watering fruit and vulnerable plants. It seems to have become our lasting solution now, and I'm expecting to see it working at least in the medium term, maybe 10 years. If the hose splitter does prove to be a problem, we are likely to update that to a 4-way splitter in any case, as that;s something our experiment has shown might be a good idea later on. Long story short, for the reasons we bought the kit, it exceeded what we are asking of it.

The item looked fine but I returned it because I got the wrong fittings.

Does what it says on the tin, but in reality, fewer attachments which are more practical is what’s needed. Don’t be fooled by all the options. Half of them look identical to each other and it’s trial and error to figure out what does what.

Finally, a hose connector that actually fits my outdoor tap. I’ve switched from the Titan brass connectors to these, and so far they’ve been flawless.I run two hose pipes: the first goes from the tap to a spindle, and the second runs from the spindle to my jet wash for car‑cleaning products and accessories. With these connectors, everything is secure — no leaks, no drips, just solid, reliable connections.They were also much easier to fit than the Titans. Instead of forcing the connector inside the pipe and securing it with cable ties, these simply screw together, creating a tight seal with minimal effort

They fit well to main water supplies.
