Can this be used to bleed brakes? Ie by placing the hose to a calliper bleed screw and sucking fluid through from the master cylinder ?

Hi, You could, but it would be hard work. I've bought a dedicated pump (£13.85 On eBay- item no: 184633328443) that only requires one hand and is 100% reliable. The pump you're considering is great for filling gear boxes.

What are the rubber O rings actually for?

As far as I remember (I used my syringe 5 months ago) the oil seals are a spare set to fit the plunger that has 2 "O" rings as shown in the photos.

Will this reverse bleed brakes - I.e force fluid in through the bleed nipple

In theory yes, in practice no I've tried with brakes completely dry no good, maybe if they're already full of fluid

as long as you can get the pipe though the hole this pump works well . I use it on my lawn mower and boat engine hope this helps
