Beach Trip Must-Have — Saved My Hair All Summer
I can’t believe it took me this long to start using a product like this. I picked it up before a recent beach trip because I wanted to be more proactive about protecting my hair—and it completely exceeded my expectations. The consistency, texture, and scent are all amazing. It’s lightweight, easy to apply, and doesn’t leave my hair feeling greasy or weighed down. I used it every single day before going into the ocean and pool, and I truly feel like it protected my hair from the usual dryness and damage. I love that it offers UV protection along with chlorine and salt protection—such a game changer, especially for summer. My hair is naturally dry and curly, and it usually takes a hit during beach trips, but this made a noticeable difference. Do not go to the beach or pool without this. 10/10, highly recommend—this is officially my new go-to for protecting my hair!

Great! When you follow very specific instructions
I’m a swim instructor and spend anywhere from 3-5 hours in the water on a daily basis. Most our pools are about 88 degrees and none of them have on site showers. I drive about 13-30 minutes until I can get to a shower. Aqua guard and I have a love hate relationship. The first time I used this I put it in like 2 minutes before I got in the pool and slathered it on. It smelled amazing and did stay in my hair all through the shift. But when it came time to shower it wouldn’t come out. It stayed in my hair making it crunchy and super tangled. I don’t like to give up on products so I did some research and experimentation and here’s what I found. 1. It doesn’t matter if it goes in your hair wet or dry. 2. Put it on like 5 minutes before going in the pool. That gives it time to absorb 3. Think of it like a top coat for your hair you want enough for it to coat it but not enough that you see super thick deposits in your hair. 4. You HAVE to use a special chlorine removing shampoo to get it out (I tried a normal clarifying shampoo and it failed so look for swim specific I buy a 3 in 1 product and it works great although sometimes I do have to wash 2 times) 5. If you have warm water it’s best to rise your hair in that right after swimming and try not to let it dry in your hair or sit in it for a long time. ( I will say that I can actually let it sit in my hair for a bit like 1-2 hours if I rinse my hair in super warm sink water before leaving) Following all the above rules it works beautifully my hair is the softest it’s ever been and while there is some chlorine damage from my failed uses I haven’t seen any damage beyond that. I even had some curls one day. I usually braid my hair and due to being an instructor and working with kids I don’t wear a swim cap and I’m really happy with the condition of my hair. Plus it smells so good for everyone wondering the smell is a sweet almond smell due to the almond oil in it. I just ran out (this sized bottle lasted me about a month) and have the huge bottle on the way

Best Salt Water Protection Yet!
This is an excellent product as I discovered the first time I used it. It kept my long naturally blonde/silver grey hair moisturized and fairly easy to comb out after spending time in both the ocean and our saline swimming pool. My hair length is below my middle back. I use no more than about a quarter cup, concentrating on covering the ends of my hair, but not neglecting the rest of my head. I’ve applied it on both dry hair and damp hair. You can work it through to cover more if applied on damp hair. I think the scent is fine-kind of a tropical fruity spell. I also notice that there was no change in my hair color, but I’ve never had that problem. I live on the Big Island of Hawai’i surrounded by a beautiful ocean and love being in the water. But, my hair started suffering from it. I’m a mature woman and the texture of my hair has changed over the years. I’ve tried several other hair conditioners that left my hair thick and greasy feeling. Aqua Guard is made specifically for salt and chlorine water situations. It’s pricey, but for me it works and worth it in order to keep my hair in good condition. I’m in the water almost every day of the week. What would make it an outstanding product is if it were Reef Safe. I hope you’ll like the product as much as I do.

Hair preserver
Product works well, especially if you coat your hair evenly. Only negative is it smells like cherry cough syrup and doesn’t last long. Will be buying the larger product. Lasted me roughly 7 swims.

Excellent pre-swim protector for under swim cap. Best used on pre-moistened har.
Depending on season of year I swim in a chlorinated pool 3 to 5 times per week. I've tried everything to protect my fine, brown, colored, Caucasian hair. Before I discovered a system that works for me, I sustained considerable damage that is still growing out. However the newer growth is doing great. The trick is to saturate hair in the shower and then apply leave-in conditioner prior to swimming. A swim cap is also essential to keep the conditioner in the hair and reduced diluting it out. After swimming, use chlorine removing shampoo and a good conditioner. I've used multiple different conditioners prior to swimming and have generally found the thick creamy ones better than the thinner ones or spray-on ones. So far this is the best one. It is thick enough that it doesn't rinse out too quickly and doesn't seem as slippery under the swim cap. Some of the conditioners cause the swim cap to slide around or they just rinse out while swimming. I find that my hair is quite soft and silky when I finish my swim. I'm almost tempted to skip the chlorine removing shampoo, but not taking changes

Decent
I love the scent, and I think the idea of this is really awesome. I would say it works, decently. Maybe not the best of the best, but my hair does feel significantly better after swimming when I DO use it. The one downfall, is that it runs out fast. I have medium to long length hair; and since it is blonde it gets damaged extra easily (hello green hair!). I’ve started swimming 3-5 times a week for water therapy, and I was hoping to find something I could use consistently. If I used enough of the product to be effective for my hair each time, it would probably last me a week. That being said, if you have shorter hair it could be for you!

This saved my hair from the ocean
I have thick blonde hair that goes to my mid back. As a surfer, I try to keep it up in a top knot when I’m in the water but the salt water still makes it so incredibly dry and tangled. I tried coconut oil and detanglers before getting in the water but it’s a small step above nothing. Tried Aqua Guard this morning and my hair combed right through after surfing. It was still soft and felt conditioned. Washing it in the shower was such a breeze because it’s usually a 10-15 min fight with my hair. I highly HIGHLY recommend this!

Protects hair from pool chemicals and eliminates chemical residue when washing hair after swimming
I swim 2 to 3 times each week as part of my exercise routine. The Lifetime Fitness pool is heavily treated water. I use aqua guard on my hair before each swim. It blocks alot (but not all) of the chemicals from being absorbed into the hair. When washing my hair after swiming, the aqua guard aids the rinse of chemicals and chemical odors from my hair.

Molto valido

Effective haircare
This is the best pre swim hair defence I’ve tried, my hair is very thick and dry having quite a lot of damage from bleach and other dye’s. Easy application and completely scentless even while swimming , as someone who swims a lot I’ve really been able to tell a difference. When my hair dries it’s soft and moisturised, prevents the chlorine from causing damage and doest change hair colour, would recommend!
