Does this make the Ps4 pro quieter? I replaces the thermal paste and cleaned it up quite well but there's still some sound coming out of it on idle

It depends on the source of the sound. If it's the fan itself (bad bearing), it will make it quieter and cooler. But if it's an inductor or cap or coil on the motherboard, then the sounds will persist. If you want to test it, pull off the cover on your PS4 pro and run it until you hear the sound. Touch the fan in the center to stop it for a second or two. If the noise stops, that's your issue. If not, likely an inductor or something. Usually this is harmless (mine does this). If your PS4 pro has been extremely dusty, it's not a bad idea to replace the fan anyway. Replacing mine didn't fix the whirring noise, but it still runs cool and great.
