Update: I’ve purchased it a couple times. My pregnancy pica is extreme. My last purchase was perfect. Not broken and super clean. No impurities or spots in it. Very soft and easy to bite into. I still spit most of it out since it can cause stomach issues. But chewing it is very satisfying so is the flavor. Also, I’ve found that taking iron supplements does help decrease the cravings. Clean chalk and a good amount. Mine was not broken. I thought I had pica because I was craving chalk even tho I never ate chalk before. But I could not stop thinking about it. Tried this and it’s good, the texture is nice. Flavor is kinda weird. I bought some freeze dried vanilla ice cream and it it similar in texture so I think ill eat that instead. Because I’m afraid to swallow the chalk. The ice cream also tastes better.

I have ordered the item about 4 times now. The first time I ordered it was perfect. The 2nd and 3rd time the chalk came completely crushed up, some sticks were basically powder and then the rest were tiny chunks. The point of this item is to chew and get the crunch. Not only did it come broken up, there were several pieces I noticed that had brown dots or brown lines through out it. I gave it one more shot (due to pica and craving this item) and the 4th time it came broken up, brown dots AND had super hard bits in it like pebbles or something. Idk it was awful. So expensive for 6 sticks when 8/10 times it’ll be delivered broken. Learned my lesson. Not worth it.

This is legitimate chalk. This is not candy chalk, and it is certainly not for anyone who has never had this sort of craving before. I am hooked on this product. Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve had a craving for chalk/dirt -anything earthy. I would sneak chalk from school, or I would eat my sidewalk chalk. Eventually my cravings subsided because I swear they started to put stuff in sidewalk chalk to make the taste unappealing and chemically. This is even common knowledge in my family, and has become a running joke. It wasn’t until I got pregnant that my cravings returned and I was determined to find something to satisfy the overwhelming craving. I came across this product, and wasn’t disappointed but also was not overjoyed. I tried a few methods to find the best result. I’ve been repurchasing for over a year now. Certainly satisfies my cravings. I recommend letting the chalk air out for a day or 12hrs (I can never wait that long after the package arrives). The longer it sits in a cool, dry, well aerated space - the better it tastes. Some of the sticks are just better than others. My favorite is when I get the sticks that stay a little gritty all throughout chewing. Other times it’ll be more of pasty consistency the longer you chew - not ideal for me but not a dealbreaker. Always a great crunch though! Even though it’s a bit of a gamble as to whether I’ll get a gritty stick, it’s worth it. So, if you have cravings similar to mine, give this a try.

It tasted like dirt and had the texture of dirt. It is high quality but it is not durable mine came in broken. The size is pretty good but not enough for this price

I read some of the reviews and i definitely agree that leaving it out for a day or two is best flavor wise. I tried a bite when it first arrived and it had that plastic taste. So I left it out for a few days and it made the taste a lot more pleasant. I don’t know how I would describe the taste but it was definitely very pleasant. I have tried some other edible chalk here on Amazon and the taste was like laundry detergent. For me, I only want the chalk for the crunch. I also crunch on cornstarch chunks. And this definitely satisfied the need for crunch. That being said I don’t swallow it and I wouldn’t suggest anyone to swallow it. It may be edible but i don’t think it’s necessarily digestible. But i will definitely be buying it again. The amount of sticks are good and a good size. A couple of the sticks were slightly broken upon arrival but that’s most likely just from the shipping. Would recommend and will buy again!

There is no taste at all and it has a soft crunch.. as far as the amount you get for $24 it's a little underwhelming but now I have too much of something that I'm not even going to eat because it's like I'm eating air. as far as the quality... I believe that it's a product prepared with care and good packaging. I believe that it's a product prepared with care and good Packaging. However the packaging and presentation of the product was of quality. I really do wish this had that After rain smell and taste As I could have dealt with the soft crunch. back to the drawing board.

The other edible chalk I normally get was out of stock. So I bought this brand. Upon getting it, I opened it up and let it set out over night. It comes all wrapped up in bubble wrap. Now if you eat it just like that, yes it doesn’t taste good. Has a bit of a chemically/ plastic taste. So leaving it to set out for even a couple of hours is a good idea. This morning, I tried it, and it was perfect. The flavor was a classic chalk( earthy) flavor. I was so happy to find this cause I do get chalk cravings fairly often, and this is perfect. I also have to be careful of my phosphorus intake, and apparently this has been helping, to keep it down. Calcium is a natural phosphorus binder so that’s good. Will definitely be purchasing again! I have severe pica and this really helps with the cravings ! I love the crunch and that it does not get pasty. Tastes best after you have aired it out for a few days..i have tried many brands and this is the best quality and taste-wise, for me . Does not give me a stomachache like some other brands i have tried...
