Well made, rugged, and very visible from the air. If you’re serious about drones, this is the one.
I have both the medium and the large diameter version of these pads and though they seem pricey compared to many other choices, I haven’t regretted the purchase of either one iota. When I’m flying the little Mavic 3 Pro, the smaller pad is more than sufficient for my needs. The larger one gets used when I fly the big Matrice 210 V210. They are easy to see and are very helpful calibrating your RTH fix as you begin your flight. The cameras are able lock in on the contrast of this pad easily making pinpoint landings as easy as pie. I fly in dusty conditions more often than not, this pad really helps to keep my birds and the cameras free of unwanted debris which is a big deal to me, especially with the big drone and the high dollar optics onboard. The setup couldn’t be easier, just pull it from the well made nylong carry bag and it pretty much unfolds itself whether you’re ready or not! Getting it back in the bag is really easy once you figure out the method. I have a lot of portable photographic shades and difusers, but this uses a slightly different technique to fold it properly. So, read the instructions, or better yet, watch it done on a video and you’ll figure it out pretty quick. Otherwise you will look like a goober flailing about and attracting the unwanted attention of everybody from miles around. (Don’t ask how I know that) It’s super stable on the ground even in really gusty wind conditions - like the ones you probably shouldn’t be flying in - which is another advantage of it’s stout build and heavy weight. The very first portable drone/heli pad I tried blew away on me at the first wind gust. I didn’t even notice during flight, that’s how I ended up with these. Well made, rugged and easily visible from the air. It’s a really good choice if you’re serious about flying your drones and you’ll look more professional too.

Worth Every Penny - You get what you pay for.
I'm a relatively new drone pilot, having started flying in December 2020, and prefer to have a launch/landing pad to operate from versus rough-fielding it. Like many people, I tried to make do with cheaper/inferior designs, but the wind and terrain made that dicey at best. After reading reviews, and doing some research, I decided to order the Hoodman 3-foot landing pad. Cons: 1) It can be a bit fiddly to get back into the carrying bag. (Hoodman has a video showing the technique linked on their site.) 2) The shoulder strap could be a bit better. Add another 8-10" in length and possibly some sort of coating to keep it from sliding off the shoulder. (Note: I'm 6'4" tall so the strap length is likely to be fine for the average sized user.) Pros: 1) Exceedingly easy to set up. Pull it out of the bag and literally toss it on the ground. 2) Stays put in the wind. The weighted perimeter keeps it from blowing around without having to stake it in place. 3) Water-resistant. Keeps your drone off the damp grass and doesn't soak up the moisture like some of the folding designs do. 4) Highly visible from altitude. The safety orange, and the size, make it quite easy to see from a distance, especially from the drone's camera perspective. 5) Compact in the carry case. Small enough to keep in the back of my car so I don't forget and leave it at home. 6) Quality materials and thoughtful design. Unlike a few other pads I looked at, you can see and feel the quality and tell that the designers put some thought into this instead of just building a "me too" copy of other's designs in a race to the lowest price. This is probably the best accessory I've purchased for my drone so far. I'm not comfortable with launching from, and landing in, my hand, so the 3' Hoodman Landing Pad allows me to fly from locations that I normally wouldn't due to moisture, tall grass, and sand/dirt/dust. I ended-up getting the 3' version (versus the 2') for the extra weight and the larger "target". I fly a DJI Mavic Air 2 and there is plenty of space on the pad so you don't need to venture towards the edges and take a chance of clipping grass with the props or pulling dirt/dust into the motors.

Two high contrast sides, weighted and water resistant
I recently purchased a mini 5 pro drone and added this to my kit. The size is large enough to land safely on over unfriendly ground. The two different colored top/bottom sides provide high contrast targets that are easy to spot on camera. It folds up into something about the size of a large slice of pizza and is weighted, just unfold it and toss it on the ground. I accidentally left it out overnight when it rained and discovered that this is rather water proof. I am very happy with this purchase. Also, no need to worry about the wind blowing it away. The night I left it outside we had surface winds gusting to 20 Mph, it did not move from where i placed it.

Great landing pad
Sturdy! nice that it is double sided; orange side and a green side to select appropriately depending on where you are placing it. I take this to a construction site so when I place it on the dirt I put the green side up. Setup is easy; unfold it and plop it down on a flat surface! stable; doesn't lift up when the drone turns on.

Absolutely Essential for Any Serious Drone Pilot
When I first got into flying drones, I thought a landing pad was an unnecessary add-on. Fast forward through years of flying and a few hard-learned lessons, and now I wouldn’t even think of heading out without my Hoodman Weighted Drone Launch Pad. Here’s why it’s worth every cent: 1) Keeps Your Drone Clean and Protected - There’s nothing worse than dirt, gravel, or other debris getting kicked into your drone’s motors or camera lens. I learned this the tough way when a small rock led to a maintenance headache I’d rather forget. This landing pad? Game changer. It provides a solid, clean surface wherever I am—grassy fields, gravel lots, you name it. And those weighted edges? They stay put, even in wind gusts. 2) Precision Landings Made Easy- If you’ve ever nervously watched your drone attempt a landing on rough ground, you’ll know what I mean. The Hoodman’s bold orange and black design is a standout. My drone locks onto it without hesitation, which means less stress and more flight time. Bonus: the pad’s high visibility is a lifesaver during late-day flights or night operations when every detail matters. It pops well in the LED landing lights, as well. 3) A Subtle “Keep Clear” Signal - This one surprised me. Any time I’m flying in a public space, curious onlookers always inch closer than I’d like. But with this pad, the message is clear: this is a designated launch site, and it exudes a professional, “hands-off” vibe. It’s like having a built-in barrier that says, “This pilot’s got it under control.” The Hoodman Landing Pad isn’t just another accessory—it’s essential gear. It’s that one piece of equipment that, once you start using it, you wonder how you managed without. If you’re serious about smooth, safe, and stress-free flying, do yourself a favor and get one. Trust me, you won’t look back.

Great protection and worth the cost.
You are getting what you're paying for with this pad. Really quality materials and great weight. It looks too large at first but when you set a DJI M30 on it, I think it's the right size. there is a good amount of pad left that will help with prop wash. Please don't give any credence to the video posted by Nova and North Wind Aerial, where he says pads are for dorks or geeks or something made to feel insulting. He is not flying a $14,000 drone. Dust has taken down manned aircraft, what do you think it can do to a tiny electrical motor? I included a photo of the bonus you get with this pad. The bag that it comes in can double as a pad for something like the Avata 2, how cool. I know North Wind, I've taken being a dork to the next level.

Great landing pad
I've only used it twice so far but at this point I say it's a good quality heavy duty Landing pad. It is a little bit of a task to fold it up for storage but that is to be expected from something this size.

Brilliant.
Fantastic value and a must for the Mavic 2 pro as it will prevent dust and dirt near the gimble. Fun to try and fold too.

New drone pilot
I am a new drone pilot with a recently purchased DJI Min 5 Pro. This landing pad is one of the first accessories that was bought and, so far, I am quite happy with it. It is well made with a tough rubber/vinyl exterior and is heavy enough not to require pins to hold it on the ground. I am looking forward to many years of use.

風にも大変強く、安心して使用できます!
外周の縁に重みがあるので、動画を撮った日も凄く風が強かったのですが、びくともしませんでした。コレなら安心して使用できますね。
