Counseling Issues: A Handbook for Counselors and Psychotherapists Paperback – February 8, 2013

I just graduated with a my Masters in Social Work. And I recently got hired at a counseling clinic earning $45 an hour. And my training in counseling during Grad school was very brief and general. So I needed a book in counseling that covered many subjects in therapy. And believe this book has it all. It is loaded with immense volumes of information. It is the meat and bones of counseling. I didn't know one book could cover it all. Best of all the language and terms are easy to understand and grasp. The topics and journey into counseling is broken down into simple numbers like a list so it's easy to learn and study. You can almost say this is the bible of counseling. The counseling books that rules all other counseling books. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to become a therapist or even a season mental health professional. You won't disappointed that I promise you.

This book is an absolute must for anyone in counseling/therapy setting. This gives me a great overview of how to handle each case I come across. The author tells you about the past and current research within each issue, and how effective it is. I bought the kindle edition, after 1/3rd of the way through this book I knew this was going to be my "go to" manual, so I bought the paperback book as well. I have not received the paperback yet, so I cannot attest to the actual book condition and layout. Very happy I stumbled across this!

Excellent overview! I use this as a quick reference working with clients.

I feel like this book is a great tool for any counselor who is just starting in the business as well as those of us who have been doing it for years. Well done!!!!

Its a nice overview for beginning Therapists and a nice review for seasoned Therapists.

I have this as a digital, but just ordered a hard copy. Excellent book on counseling issues.

Not enough information about real-life issues.
