2'x2' Drop Ceiling Mounts

I ordered this mount to hang a projector from our suspended ceiling in our conference room where we have 2x4 ceiling tiles. The mount actually takes the place of 1/2 of one of our tiles; it does not mount above/below an existing tile, as one of the reviews implies. I used a 2' crossmember from Home Depot to split the 2x4 opening in half, and cut the existing tile in half. Everything fit nicely. The mount is very well constructed, and everything needed to install it is included, including hardware to support the mount from structure above the ceiling tile grid. Security screws were a nice bonus to minimize tampering by others. The two knockouts were perfect for adding a receptacle as well as a keystone plate for video, data, and 12V trigger for the projector. The half of the 2x2 mount that doesn't have the projector post below it provided a perfect tray above the ceiling to mount several video-over-cat5 receivers, hidden from view, to drive the projector. The dimensions on the actual mount are a bit deceiving. It can handle a much larger projector than is otherwise implied. Each arm can extend to ~7 inches. One of the dimensional drawings showed the max distance between screws on the projector being around 8 inches, which is not the case; it's much larger. The mount easily fit my larger projector and holds it securely. Overall, the resulting installation looks very professional and well done thanks to a quality mount design.

I had originally skipped over this mount due to the cost. It is a little pricey. However, a free purchasing a different mount, it turns out that there are ventilation ducts in the way of building a bracket to support the mount. I broke down and bout this mount. Best decision. Not only is it easy to install, it will support some of the larger projectors. I have this attached to an Epson 5050UB, and it holds that monster perfectly. Assembly instructions are written well, and it looks nice and tidy on my ceiling. I also purchased the 1 foot extension pipe to support lowering the projector under my center support beam. This mount is definitely worth the extra dollars over some of the cheaper mounts.

This mount is very heavy duty. Goes together easily and works great. It fit into our ceiling grid without any issues. Just to point out, since I didn't notice, this is not a 24 x 24 panel. This is an 8 x 24 and a 16 x 24 panel that screw together to create a 24 x 24 panel. It's not a big deal, I just didn't notice that in the pictures and was surprised when I opened the package.

What a great solution to mounting a projector in a drop cieling. I didn't realize the 24x24 was actually 2 pieces that you put together but that's ok. UPDATE: I have now used the 24x24 and the 6"x24". The 6"x24" version has a few things to consider: First, it has hooks bent into the sides, which make it very sturdy but my gridwork was taller than the the hooks. So the entire thing sat about 3/4" above the lip of the grid rail. I ended up cutting off the hook so that it would drop into the space properly. The second thing that is stange is about the hole to slide the mount. There is no cover for the hole. So once you have the projector set and mounted you can see straight through the hole where the downrod slides. I am creating a plate to cover the area from above. I still like the setup and would buy it again, just knowing that I need to modify the unit before installing.

I really want to like this product; It's well made and well finished. HOWEVER the product is 24" x 24". Ceiling tiles are made to 23.75" x 23.75". That extra 0.25" makes all the difference in the world and no mater how much I tried I was unable to fit this into my ceiling grid. I ended up having to remove the NPT flange and mount it between joists which defeated the whole point of the product.

We received the recommendation from our consultant, and had him install it. We found it very well made, solid and well-fitting components, and with good instructions. The image on Amazon is a bit misleading--it actually comes in two parts that can be bolted together, one 6"x2' section and the separate tray that would make it 2'x2' when attached. (This worked out well for us--we only needed the smaller section.) Installation was easy, and after all was bolted together and tightened, it's solid.

Installed this for a customer's regional HQ conference room. I did a full electrical TI including the low volt scope which was installing an enterprise WIFI network, setting up the presentation equipment on a wireless network, and relocating the projector and sound equipment to the conference room ceiling. The previous contractor was not very competent, my company was asked to repair their substandard work. The mounting plate was a nice snug fit in a 2x4 grid. I was able to locate it next to an HVAC register that was also 2x2. The supplied kit did actually contain every possible projector mounting bolt, both SAE and metric, every different anchor for diverse mounting options, as well as all the hex wrenches required to secure the many different fastener types. I opted to use my own self-tapping ceiling wire anchors as the deck was over 10' above the suspended ceiling, so a pole gun was required. The mounting kit included a 1 1/2" x 3" electroplated nipple to match the two mounting plate pieces. The projector had three mounting points and the kit has a four projector mounting arms. I read other reviews that complained about this. All you do is remove one of the arms, completely loosen the adjustment screws on the remaining three arms, and you can easily find a good mounting pattern that will also allow for angle, pitch and yaw adjustment, when fine tuning the projector after the initial mount. It makes sense they included four arms for the projector models that utilize four points of contact. I was easily able to fish all power and data through the nipple, but the mounting plate had two knock outs available in case single gang boxes was preferred. This was easily one of the most complete kits I have ever purchased. The bolts supplied were even stainless steel. The finished product was aesthetically symmetrical and helped to deliver very professional project. Due to the previous contractors issues I had to totally rewire the entire electrical system, then upgrade the data and comms, the emphasis was on quality, with focus on exceptional craftsmanship. While utility in nature, the finish on the mounting elements will naturally blend right in with the surroundings. I will definitely use this vendor for any future needs.

Very easy to assemble, didn't really even need the instructions. It's pretty straight forward. Works great and is very sturdy! I installed an Epson Home Cinema 3010 Projector on it.

Excelente calidad. Los manuales de instalación muy claros. Todas las piezas bien pensadas y el soporte muy rígido y maniobrable. Excelente para superficies de galletas en plafón.

Great mounting kit, extremely easy to hang, and very adaptable. I was able to use the cylinder mount to feed the cables through making them even less visible but I would suggest you do this before mounting the projector as you'll find it tricky to do afterwards! The only issue I had was the size, I had to use some force (with a hammer) on the suspended ceiling to widen them approx 3mm extra all round to fit the mount and then trim down the surrounding tiles to accommodate, but the same as most of these things better to be too big than too small.

Works perfectly and looks very professional!

Easy to install - included what we needed to hang the projector securely - solid product.
