This soap is light years beyond any skin routine I have ever used. Please give it a try. I pray they never stop making it. One bar last so long. You are given a generous amount. I heard a lot of great things about this product and if you are a product jumper like me then you're always looking for that one solution that will help your skin with one swing of a wand. I did not have acne as a teenager but when I started college it really got bad and I have spent a lot of time trying new products and medication; however one thing I have learned is consistency which is hard for an impatient person like myself. You may not see results right away but if you are persistent and stick to only a few products you're good. I love this African black soap. I have sensitive skin so at first it stung a lot and made my cheeks red and dry but I was persistent. If it stings I suggest a little fan or ice to cool off. I have seen a major improvement in the short time that I've been using this soap and can't wait to see the long term results. Do not put the soap directly on your face or body, use a rag or lather it in your hands.( great for body too) If you think it's making you break out more it's just bringing up those hidden pimples, you know the ones that you can feel underneath your skin but can't really see. I decided to be aggressive and use this product everyday at first but once my acne goes down I'll switch to 2 to 3 times a week because it is very drying but it makes the skin soft and tight. I also recommend a good toner like thaylers witch hazel and moisturizer like Olay or whatever you like to use and before you go to bed I promise you coconut oil will save your life. Throw it on everything. Lol You may sleep shiny but when you wake up it really helps a lot with the drying and it anti fungal so it helps with pimples too. I highly recommend the African soap though, just figure out what type of routine works best for you and stick to it and don't product jump too much.

I have had this for a while now and it was a learning curve for using this on my skin. I did a test on my wrist to see if I would react (I have very reactive skin) and had no reaction. First few times trying it I used the soap by itself with a washcloth, a sponge, a poof, and a net cloth. It was very strong on my skin so I put it away for a while. I now am trying it mixed together with two different bars (as I've seen done on YouTube) and it seems less harsh. The soap itself is high quality and has great texture. I've only encountered one tiny piece of what I think is palm kernal shell (about the size of a large grain of rice). Smell is strong, but not bad. When I bought it several years ago it was $14.99 ... It seems inflation has bumped it up to $24.99 now, which is relatively expensive.

This soap has changed me, honestly. It sounds crazy, but let me give you a little information so you can understand why. I have had severe acne since I was 10, and body acne is no exception as well. Needless to say, I've spent thousands of dollars on high-end skincare systems, doctor's visits, and medications prescribed by doctors. I've been through so many different products trying to find a solution for my acne. I have wasted so much time in vain. Having severe acne is horrible, and for someone who is very sensitive about their appearance it can choke the life out of you. I was told by doctors to wash my face, use toners and weird lotions. My skin would dry out and then break out more, and other products would clog my pores. When acne would heal I would be left with red blotches everywhere. Needless to say, I spent YEARS not using soap directly on my skin because just about everything would break me out. I finally discovered the oil cleansing method; after playing around with different oil combinations I finally found a jojoba/castor combo that worked to nightly keep my skin clear. However, my skin would get dull and a dead layer of skin would form. My skin wouldn't look as clean as fresh as it needed to be. Also, discolorations took a long time to go away. Occasionally, I think I would break out still just from the accumulation of dead skin. The oil-cleansing-method worked well for my face; however, it did nothing for my body acne. This soap has pretty much CLEARED UP my body acne. I am SO HAPPY about it. I use it on my face every 1-3 three days and it has replaced my shampoo. It does leave a somewhat dull residue on your hair, but you can rinse with a vinegar rinse to help clear that away if you'd like. I am so happy to save money and have a product that keeps my skin clear. I still use the oil cleaning nightly, and it helps to keep my skin hydrated. I am recommending this soap to everyone I know who has skin issues. Someone already bought some as a result. If something works for you then you naturally will brag about it. I will never use another type of soap on my skin again. Ever. Although I did receive a free sample of this sent directly to me, all of my thoughts and opinions are 100% my own and aren't influenced by anyone in any way.

I purchased this soap because of the cleansing properties. The soap comes with a letter of warning to test it out on your skin before you decide to commit. I read the warnings, tested out the soap on a patch of my skin and I had no reaction. I followed the instructions for use. I loved the fact that it completely cleaned my skin! I used shea butter lotion (Palmers) after every wash (which I only used 3 days a week). 3 weeks ago, I woke up to my thigh itching something awful. I scratched like crazy and developed bumps. I put some Cortisone on it and it went away. Something told me to back off the soap for a bit. I just had a feeling. A week later, I tried the soap again. Nothing happened, until a few days later when I noticed my arms where itching like crazy! It spread to my hands then my legs, then my feet. I was itching all over. I did some research and this soap will dry out your skin to the point where you can, if you are sensitive enough, develop contact dermatitis. I didn't think it would effect me because I had no reaction when I tested it on my skin. I really hoped it wasn't the soap because it is really good at ridding your skin of impurities and dirt. But in the end, the only thing that could've cause me to break out in a rash all over is this soap. I'm still itching all over, especially my hands (I used wash gloves). I'll have to go to a dermatologist soon to get some relief from the itching.

this soap has saved my skin when i added a misleading skincare product to my regimen that ultimately ruined my face, with acne and discoloration (i’ve never been prone to acne either).. afterwards, i decided to just stick to this soap & only water, by 2wks later it revitalized my skin clearer than it’s ever been—the acne was gone, my complexion went back normal.. also something else i’ve noticed, this makes my skin extremely soft with shaving too. i tested it out: i tried at least 2 different bars of soap with new razors, and they weren’t bad, but i noticed this made my skin more smooth versus those, i mean baby smooth.. not the slightest stubble feeling ( a random fun fact if someone want something better than shaving cream or if that’s a pet peeve they have at all ) .

This soap doesn’t have the magical properties everyone seems to think it does. Before you buy it, you need to understand that its effect on acne largely depends on the source of it. Mine is mostly hormonal and this is basically useless for it, along with most of everything I’ve tried. I knew going in that it would be. But I bought it mainly for its claims that it will clear up acne scars over a period of time. My face isn’t super oily, but it isn’t naturally dry either. This soap did a number on me. My cheeks feel like sandpaper after every use. My face burns and is irritated along with pimples that are going strong. This soap strips my face of ALL oils and I try to avoid using cleansers/soaps that do this because I’ve tried several moisturizers that surprise surprise, break my skin out. So, it’s sort of a lose-lose situation for me. I finally threw in the towel and officially gave up on this soap today. I’d love to know if it actually lightens acne dark spots over time, but I just cannot stand to use it any longer. I have also come to two conclusions, one painful to accept. One, this soap would be awesome for someone with a chronically oily face. My mom, for instance. I cut her a block of it and she loves it. Felt her face and it’s smooth as a baby’s bottom. Two, there are NO OTC products that will cure or even treat hormonal acne and I refuse to take crap that will give me weird side effects. Junk like this soap, clean and clear, neutrogina, clearasil, and blah blah blah are only effective for people whose acne is caused by oily skin. Their pores are clogged and all those gimmick creams and cleansers do is fool them into practicing a good skin care regimen (which is all they needed in the first place). I, on the other hand, can scrub my face night and day until it’s raw, and I will still get acne. So, I officially give up. The only thing I’ll admit about this soap is, again, it is VERY effective at removing dirt and oils. If you have dry skin, avoid it like the plague.

Si ayuda mucho con el acné, al principio saca más brotes, pero sí limpia muy bien la piel. Sólo hay que leer bien las instrucciones.

بعد الاراء الايجابيه الذي قرأتها عن الصابون اشتريته بناء على التعليقات و بعد استخدام لمدة شهر لم أرى اي نتيجه في بشرتي.. يسبب وخز للبشرة... في اعتقادي لا يصلح للبشرة الحساسه.. يمكن لان بشرتي فاتحه وحساسه جدا...

Good to know it is natural soap. No skin rash from it. Breaks down fast.
