Lighting on Fountain Adds Touch of Elegance
I’d been looking for a nicer, large tabletop style fountain for ages-didn’t want the wee, horrid plasticy resin ones. I loved that it was slate (and is already getting a bit of a patina), lighting was an unlooked for option and was intrigued by the spinning ball action. Gosh, was I more than pleasantly pleased! It sits on a low table surrounded by ferns on the perimeter of the gazebo; it adds such a lovely touch, burbles quietly with the ball on top, bit more without. Even in daylight the lit layers look so pretty with the sun shining through and at night it gives an elegant ambiance. Aesthetics aside: it’s not messy, splashy; the spinning ball issue-I put 5 of the stones around the top, close to the cup the ball sits in to add more water pressure lift, it spins vertically, not horizontally so if it needs a bit of a push do it from the top-zero problems with the spinning. Other issue of no on/off switch is simply solved by plugging it into a strip outlet with an on/off switch. Pump is quiet as well but functions fine. All in all the fountain is nice, well made piece that is pleasing visually, aurally and at an appropriate price point.

Soothing and beautiful
I bought this fountain to add moisture to the dry air in my Arizona home, to help plants adapt to their new environment. My nose noticed the difference within a few hours, an added bonus. The table fountain is a much nicer way than a humidifier to add moisture to the air. There are no pump sounds so far, as some have complained, only pleasant tinkling sounds of water flowing over rocks. Perhaps their fountain needed more water to submerge the pump. I suspect it would be noisy if the water level drops too low. I'm very happy with my purchase; it's beautiful, and I plan to buy another for my bedroom.

Beautiful, Wonderful Fountain, But With Flaws!
Beautiful, heavy duty fountain. Spinning ball and soft glowing light really sets it off. Inspiring at night. Nice quality and appeal, however does not function quite the way one would like. (If you can live or deal with that, you may have yourself a new fountain.) Ironically I had to return it. One major drawback for indoor use - the fountain splashes badly. Absolutely soaks the surrounding carpet and walls. It was very disapointing in this way. It may be fine for an outdoor patio or garden, etc., especially if you don't mind filling it up every day. However I tried this and it still took alot of work. Indoor use was unfortunately impossible. Second drawback, it came with absolutely nauseous toxic odor that I had to work very hard to get rid of. Because I liked it so so much, I was willing to go the extra mile. Try disinfectant spray if yours has the same, and setting it outside in the fresh air. Was sad to see it go. Overall, very unique however and quite inspiring.

It's too heavy and just sits there like a lump unless you poke with your finger every ...
A few downsides first: Take the ball it comes with and throw it in the trash. It's too heavy and just sits there like a lump unless you poke with your finger every 2 minutes; I haven't bothered to replace as the fountain works just fine without it. It has a funky smell right out of the box and takes a few days to dissipate. Small bits of ceramic will flake of while taking it out of the box and doing the initial setup, make sure to sweep or vacuum when you're done. It does tend to splash little, more of light sprinkle than heavy drops, so I'd recommend setting it on top of a towel or absorbent tablecloth. Other than a little initial inconvenience at first this is a great little fountain. It makes a wonderful "burbling broke" type of sound and you don't hear any pump noise unless it starts running low. Speaking of, this is a BIG table top fountain with a deep basin and holds enough water that it can run 36-48 hours (actual run-time, not days) without needing to be refilled. I actually find it makes a good scented oil diffuser. I'll put 1/4-1/2 a teaspoon of scented oil into and it perfumes about 1,000 ft^2 for 24 hours, easily.

Disappointed
So disappointed. Even after reading all the negative reviews, I still purchased this fountain because I wanted one that wasn’t resin and it looked nice. I figured what are the chances they’re all defective! Well this was worse than I expected. Water only trickles down a very small section. I have plenty of water inside, it’s level and I tried all pump settings. The highest settings splashes water onto furniture and still doesn’t cascade completely around entire fountain.., only small area. I contacted the seller with hopes of him sending me one that actually works properly as this is certainly not worth $160

Awesome product-we'll send as gifts in the future - great display and Great for relaxation
After all this time I am very comfortable writing this review AWESOME PRODUCT - buy it! :-) Now - pay attention for first time users of a submersible pump and don't complain to the vendor / manufacturer! If you've never had a submersible pump in your life before the first thing you need to understand is that you're dealing with water - and it's alive - YES ALIVE! Water will crack, tear down, dissolve and move mountains. Therefore - you need to clean the unit every 6 months if you use distilled water (water gets "stuff" from the air around iot and every 3 months if you use tap water. My wife has this in her office running 12+ hours a day - WATCH IT and make sure there's always water in it to fully submerge the pump and NEVER run the pump dry - the lights you can purchase multiple colors from Amazon and once you kill the pump - same - for a few dollars you can get a replacement pump - but this original pump has been running for years now - 5 and sometimes 6 days a week If you live in Texas you MUST replenish the water daily - it's a relatively large water surface and it will evaporate - again if you never dealt with open water and / or submersible pumps before - pay attention - you have a little piece of nature in your home - it's like a tiny little pond - and bodies of water evaporate - and water pumps are engineered to pump water not air Also make sure to inspect and clean the pump yearly - even with distilled water use dust will collect from the surrounding area (unless you're in a data center and then I would ask what genius allowed you to place a large bowl of water in the data center - lol)
