Works Perfectly
I was hesitant to buy this trimmer because of the struggles I've seen crafters have with using it in YouTube videos. But, I did see one crafter who never had problems with it so I decided to see for myself if it would work. It does. Perfectly. The instructions state that you should apply even pressure when bringing down the arm. The ladies I've seen using it slam the arm down. The user is expected to hold the paper down with the plastic holder. The crafters seem to place their fingers on the plastic but not hold it down. Also, the weight of the paper has a bearing. I've not tried it but I suspect copy paper is so flimsy the trimmer would have problems cutting it. This morning I had a small printed item I wanted to edge. It measured 1.5x2.5 inches. I got a perfect cut. I took care in placing the piece where I wanted the edge to be and I held it in place with the plastic. Worked perfectly. Final verdict is that this trimmer is a great asset in crafting. The user just needs to use it correctly and pay attention to what they are doing. Easy peasy.

Cuts Precisely a deckled edge.
Cuts perfectly a slightly varied deckled edge so it looks more old fashioned, like a brownie image which I love. It doesn’t look machine cut as say a deckled scissors would. I appreciate the sturdiness of this guillotine.

Good Cutter - But
It is the size that I thought, but to my surprise, it does not have an extending ruler, so anything over 6 inches is a guess unless you make a ruler extension. I wanted to cut 8 x 8 squares and had to extend the ruler to make it happen. Nice cut, but you can only cut 1 sheet at a time, so with making 50 wedding invitations, this is going to take me a while :( May be great for other projects, but just doesn't work well for mine. Will still use it and keep it for the future, just disappointed in the lack of extension ruler.

Cuts evenly & smoothly
I've held off on this because on videos people talk about how loud it is, & it sounds much louder on video than other guillotine trimmers. It might be a little louder, but nothing like how it appears in videos. I thought because of the deckle edge, you might need more force to cut, but it cuts beautifully & easily! The deckle cut looks a little different depending on if you cut at the top, the middle or the bottom, which is a nice feature. I love the deckle look, & I still love to ink the edges of my cardstock for certain projects, & the deckle edge is great for enhancing that look. Much more affordable than getting rectangle AND square deckle dies. Plus I can cut any size I want. The only deckle edge dies I've bought are circle ones, I just can't get this trimmer to cut a perfect circle 🤣

It really is a nice machine after some experimenting.
I almost sent this little critter back to Amazon. However, I really wanted to use deckled edges in my junk journals. When it arrived, I couldn't wait to try it out. It's a little light weight. I kept getting shredded edges, no edges ,and only deckles on half of my sheet of paper I cleaned up the shreds and packed that kill joy up. After cooling off, I unpacked the cutter and tried a few things. First I put it on the hardest surface in my apartment. Then after getting the paper situated, I held the paper guard down real hard while at the same time I put a lot of pressure on the cutter handle, bringing it toward me snug with the bottom cutter edge. The result was consistently perfect deckled edges. A tip to Tim Holtz: A few simple and clear dierctions would make a huge difference.

Very effective deckle cutting tool for cardstock, perfect edges every time!
I'm completely obsessed with this deckle cutter. I prefer the guillotine style as the cut edges are cleaner for paper crafting and art. This tool was a great price, a handy size that is easy to store, and the deckle variety along the edge is great so you can pick the effect you want on the card.

Leaves a great deckled edge
Fabulous. One of the best paper trimmers out there. I love the deckled edge. Great value for the money. Stury & easy to use.

Shredded 140 lb watercolor paper
Did not work for the purpose I bought it. I needed it for making watercolor greeting cards using 140 lb watercolor paper. This would work fine on thinner paper, but it just shredded the thick watercolor paper, unlike the nice deckle edge I wanted. It has been returned.
