So I've been using Light Mountain Henna for years. Traditional henna is a pain; it's time consuming, messy, drips, smells, grainy and very hard to wash out. Im used to seeing little crumbles on my pillow for days afterwards. Results are great, and grey coverage is great, but its a process. As a result, I often let my hair grow out more than I should because I dread the process. When I tell you I LOVE this product, that is an understatement. This is my first time using a pre-mixed henna, and it seems there are not many brands out there. My hair is just to the top of my shoulders, so half a bottle covered my whole head. REALLY easy to apply, perfect consistancy and didnt drip! No smell! Honestly I was really shocked. I did read the other reviews....I washed my hair, applied damp and left it on for 2 hours and the color/coverage is great. As normal its about 1 shade too dark, and I am sure it will fade the the perfect color after a few washes. I chose chocolate and the greys are highlighted a beautiful copper color. If it fades too brassy I will experiment with other shades, but I am loving the color. I did not wash my hair for 3 days after application, and the color is really rich. I'm hoping for 6-8 weeks of coverage. Honestly if its less, with how simple/convenient application is I really wont mind doing it 1x a month if need be. This is a much better alternative to harsh traditional dyes, since its Henna based and filled with hair loving ingredients. If you are tired of the headache that comes with traditional henna, try this product! You will NOT be disappointed. I'll update when I have used it a few more times as to the lasting color/coverage. UPDATE: I have since colored 3 times, and absolutely LOVE this product. I will NEVER go back to traditional henna. I only shampoo my hair 3/4 times a week, so the color really lasts for me. It did fade a bit after a few washes, but did not turn brassy. The color stayed true. The greys look like a natural coppery highlight. Nearly 2 months on the first application before I started noticing greys peeking out around my hairline. I actually got 3 applications out of 1 bottle. Dont snip off the tip, just screw off the lid and you can save any remaining product. I cannot tell you how pleased I am to have found this product. Gorgeous color, amazing grey coverage and easy application/removal. Its a miracle.

Love this product! There is a trick to getting it to last though. The first time I used it, I washed my hair daily afterward and it started washing out by the 4th hair washing and I was pretty disappointed. I was seeing folks saying it lasted weeks, so I did some research and a cosmetologist recommended not washing your hair at least 48 hours after rinsing out the henna dye or the henna won't properly set. The second time I used it, I did it on dry hair instead of wet and let it set for 2 hours instead of one hour and wore a shower cap. I rinsed the dye, used the same brand hair mask, and rinsed out the mask. I also didn't wash my hair for about 50 hours after that. After the no wash period, I washed my hair daily with Biolage color last shampoo, conditioner, and occasional hair mask and the henna hair color has held up for over a week now. Grays have stayed covered and blend in nicely as bronze high lights. No one can tell unless they get super close. The chocolate dies pretty dark if it sets for 2 hours, but evens out after a few hair washes. I really like the shine and color. My hair is soft. The henna dye is a little drying, especially the first couple of days, but it improves with conditioner and occasional hair masks. I am very happy with this product after figuring out the no wash time period after the initial application and rinse. I am happy there is a safe option for hair color.

Both my sister and I use this monthly. I have grey roots and she has pure white roots. The coverage is great and easy to use. No smell at all and a natural conditioner. Even if you rinse a lot this will discolor towels for the first few washes. The stains come out if a little bleach is added to laundry. At the month end my hair will fade to a rather brassy blondish color. My sisters hair fades to a reddish brown. Once in a while I will use permanent color if we are going on a cruise so the color stays stable and the towels aren't stained. We have used this product for years and have had no complaint.

I am very happy with this product and plan to use it long-term. There is no smell, and I have no reaction (I’m very sensitive!). So it seems healthy to use. The first time I applied it dry (cause I’m lazy) and left it on for an hour. My greys were given golden tints but still looked greyish. The second time I wetted my hair first with a water bottle (again cause I’m lazy) and left it on for 2 hours. My greys were completely covered. For a lazy person who wants to use henna, I think this is your product and I highly recommend! UPDATE: after a few months or so I began to feel like this product was damaging my hair and worsening the texture, so I stopped using it.

I love this hair dye for so many reasons. First off, I was diagnosed with cancer last year. As you can imagine, this shook up my world. It made me re-think a lot of what I do. Initially, I planned to let my hair go and turn grey. But I couldn't do it. I wasn't ready to. I decided that I didn't want all these boxed chemical dyes on my hair. I tried plain powdered henna, but it was such a mess and I had to leave it on for hours. It also smelled terrible. I had to walk around smelling like that for days. It also tended to make my hair orangish. Then I remembered using this henna cream years ago. This has been the best. Here is why: 1. It doesn't smell. I am sensitive to odors and my daughter has a mast cell disease. Certain odors can cause her to go into anaphylaxis. 2. It feels really good on my hair. It almost feels like a conditioning treatment. 3. There are various natural-looking colors to choose from. My favorite at the moment is chocolate. It is very rich-looking and a beautiful color. 4. It is so easy to apply. There is no mixing needed. It comes in a cream. 5. It covers my grey. It actually makes me look like I have natural highlights where some of the grey is. 6. There are no mineral salts that can damage your hair like regular henna may have. 7. If you don't use all of the dye at one time, you can save it for later (just make sure to take the top off the bottle instead of cutting the applicator tip.) 8. It is way more affordable than getting your hair professionally colored at a salon. 9. It doesn't cause my hair to fall out that chemical dyes do. 10. You can leave it on longer than the time frame suggested for darker color with no hair damage. I could probably go on and on, but you can see I like this product. :)

This used to make my hair shiny and healthier looking after I used it, but last few times it's making my hair frizzy looking and dull after using it. I'm not sure if they changed the formula or are using cheaper ingredients or what, which is disappointing if that's the case because this is the only hair color product my sensitive scalp can tolerate. Oh, and also no longer comes with gloves or a cap.

My hair was starting to feel like straw and my wallet was much lighter with my 6 week dye visits to the salon. I’ve tried other hennas, but this henna is best. My hair feels healthier and the henna does a great job covering the gray. The price is right and it’s easy to apply. Tip: After applying, wrap your hair in serán wrap. The henna lasts longer. I do this every 6 weeks.

I am so disappointed; I purchased the light brown and the end results were almost black! I was trying to find a color that did not contain ammonia or ethanolamine as my hair it is very fine and thinning and I am taking Nutrafol. My hair is very light brown and some people tell me that it looks more like a dark blond in certain light. When I saw the mixture while doing the patch test I had concerns because it was almost black but I had never used a henna (and never will again) so I thought it would still be okay however I only left it on 40 minutes instead of the 60 minutes that the instructions indicated. In an effort to try to lighten my hair I have washed 5 times in the 3 days since coloring, used and an apple cider vinegar rinse and and did a an olive oil mask with my head wrapped n a shower cap towel for 6 hours.
