Q: Is the color of this version black or tan?

The tread is black in the sidewalls are tan.

Q: For those that run these with tubes, what pressure do you use? 40-50 psi?

I run with tubes. 40 front and 45 rear.

Q: My 2021 domane slr7 has stated clearance of 38c but i have read that a 40c tire will work with obviously less clearance. has anyone tried? success?

on the packaging it says that the width of the tire can vary depending on the rim. in my case it looks like 42c with 28mm rims
