My experince has been great
Been using Amazon for over 10 years. This is the first time I'm taking the time to write a review. Bottom line: You have to try this for yourself; only way you'll ever know for sure. But... below are my thoughts. Before I buy an unknown product from Amazon I make it a point to read as many of the reviews as I can, especially the bad ones. As you might surmise, people are very different, so their views reflect that. So... following my own advice I decided to buy and decide for myself. Summary: I think this product is ABSOLUTELY GREAT!! I was really surprised how much I like it, and how effective it is FOR ME. The best advice I can give is that you still owe it to yourself to try this. But my comments are below. I picked 3 negative reviews to respond to. 1. "This is not like the original that I was using for about 5 years. This is thick when you mix it with liquid because it doesn't mix well." Response: It is NOT thick when you mix it. It stays somewhat separate from water... a little like sand in water, but it starts to get thicker very slowly, so you can drink/chew/eat it with little or more delay. At a certain point it will not get any thicker, certainly nowhere close to metamucil or any psyillium product. I put some in my cereal and then left it overnight in the refrigerator. It became a little more solid over time - like a dense pudding. So I think this what happens in your body after a couple hours, because when it leaves your body it has shape, and moves everything out with it, which is what you want. I used the word "sand" above to explain texture. BUT it does not taste like sand; to me it's actually quite tasty (this really surprised me); like a nutty flavor. Not much to chew on, but I take it one huge tablespoon at a time, and "chew" each mouthful before swallowing. When I read the good reviews I saw that some people like chewing on any "chunky" parts because they like the taste and texture. I couldn't believe this... thought I might gag instead. Now I understand this because I like the taste. Fyi, if you don't mix it AT ALL, there can a little clumping, but that goes away completely with moderate mixing. So it's up to you what you want. 2. "This product has changed dramatically since they reintroduced it about a month ago. It used to be a good fiber that created a good BM. Now it creates diarrhea.." Response; Certainly not my experience. I used the full "cup" the first time and had two BM's the next day. Now I use 3/4 cup. 3. "Awful gas and cramping" Response: Not my experience. Have been using it for a week now with no problems. ----------------- Hope this all helps.

Great Source of Fiber
I've been trying various ways to increase my fiber intake lately- whole foods and supplements- and this is my favorite by far. First, I feel like it's a supplement, but a whole food supplement. Try as I might, I could never consistently eat enough regular food to meet my fiber goals on a regular basis. I mean, my weird, sensitive stomach is why I'm trying to increase my fiber in the first place. And I can eat enough of this to meet my fiber goals. It's never once upset my stomach (any more than it always is), but more fiber in general has seemed to help reduce my IBS flare ups. One of my symptoms is that, upon waking, I can't eat much, so I'm weak and hungry until I can, which is usually lunch. Well, since I can eat this in the morning, and it is such a solid, nutritionally dense food, it actually fills me up and keeps me feeling functional until lunch. Game changer! Though if you have a healthy body and can eat breakfast, this might not be such a game changer, in this regard, for you. One more comment- I read a lot of reviews that say they don't like the taste or texture. When you read this next comment, keep in mind that I like things thick. For example, when I make chocolate milk with a powder, I don't add much milk, and don't mix it much. I like it thick and kind of chunky. I actually really like both the taste and texture of this! I add it to a cup of milk, with a scoop of chocolate protein powder, and frankly, I think it's delicious. It is thick- it reminds me of cream of wheat. But really good. I'm sticking with one serving a day, but I could drink more!

Sadly discontinued? Best Fiber Supplement I Have Tried
I’m incredibly disappointed that the manufacturer has apparently discontinued this product. I’ve tried lots of other fiber supplements, and very, very few have as much insoluble fiber as this one, and none tastes anywhere close to this one. First, regarding the reviews that says this “didn’t work,” this is a daily fiber supplement, not a laxative. It’s not going to clear your colon 15 minutes after you take it. It’s meant to increase the amount of whole dietary fiber since most people do not consume enough fiber in their regular diet. I have tried several different types of fiber supplements from gummies to chewables to capsules to powder form. Although the gummies and chewables generally have a good flavor, they typically only have a fraction of the dietary fiber that this powder supplement contains. And unlike this powder supplement, the gummies and chewables tend to have only one or two sources of fiber and they’re heavily processed and not “whole” food fiber like this one. As for the capsule fiber supplements I have tried in the past (mostly psyllium), they’re okay, but for the most part, they also contain a fraction of the fiber that this supplement has. After all, capsules are small and only contain so much fiber whereas a single serving of this is a pretty big scoop. More on that in a moment. This supplement contains a variety of natural sources of organic fiber. I like that it’s fiber from multiple sources rather than a single source. I think that’s probably better for maintaining the diverse, healthy flora in your digestive tract and more closely matches what a natural diet high in plant fiber would contain. The variety of fiber also adds to the flavor. This tastes sort of like unsweetened cream of wheat or malt-o-meal cereal. If you have ever tried plain psyllium husk, it tastes like sandy cardboard. As I mentioned above, this is a pretty large amount of fiber compared to other supplements. You mix one scoop (probably the equivalent of about 3 tablespoons) with water, milk, or your favorite beverage. You’ll want to mix it with at least 6 ounces of liquid because after a couple of minutes, the fiber absorbs much of the liquid and thickens quite a lot. You can either drink it right after you mix it and before it thickens (that’s what I usually do) or just add a bit more liquid if it gets too thick. It dissolves well in water, and unlike other powdered fiber supplements like plain psyllium, this isn’t Sandy (psyllium only dissolves TPA point). Don’t get me wrong, this still has a thick consistency as it absorbs liquid, and that’s why I referred to it like drinking a glass of cream of wheat. I haven’t tried it in milk or juice. I think it would work pretty well in a juice smoothie or maybe in a glass of milk, but be aware that it will thicken quite a lot. I drink mine at around 10:00 am every day because it fills me up until lunch. It’s about like having a packet of unflavored instant oatmeal as a snack. Pros: Highest fiber content, several different natural sources of dietary plant fiber, decent taste (but unflavored), fills you up. Cons: None, other than if you prefer flavored fiber supplements, this is unflavored and might seem a bit bland.

Seems to be a quality product, if you understand what to expect
I like this, because it seems to be a natural product with a variety of fiber types. But it doesn't disappear into a drink. It doesn't dissolve, and it can really thicken and add textures that will change the nature of a drink quite a bit. I use about half a scoop in 8-10 oz of a protein drink, and might drink two servings if I want a lot of fiber. In a drink like kefir with protein powder, it's OK because the kefir is pretty thick and has an acidic bite which isn't overpowered by a moderate amount of the powders.

Way better than psyllium!
I have tried just about every fiber supplement, stool softener, and laxative on the market over the past two decades. Laxatives work, but you cannot take them on a regular basis. Stool softeners do not work for me. And most fiber supplements are hit or miss. Mostly miss. As for psyllium, it seems to harden more than it helps. Which adds to the problem. BUT, then I tried Garden of Life Fiber Supplement. After the first couple of days, it has worked flawlessly. Every day. Some of those who comment on this product have complained about it being gritty or bad tasting. But I do not find this to be the case. I take it twice a day, morning and evening. A tablespoon each time. First I put a tablespoon of Garden of Life Fiber in a tall glass. Then add some cranberry juice and mix briskly with a fork. Next I add some orange juice and again, mix briskly with a fork. This gets the powder "suspended" in the juice. Then I begin drinking the mixture. It does NOT begin to gel up like psyllium and it does not get thick so I don't have to gulp it down. Instead, I simply mix periodically with the fork to keep it from settling at the bottom of the glass. I can drink this product mixed with just water, but I find it is better mixed with juice. The taste of the powder added to the taste of the juices seem to compliment each other. Sort of a slight nutty flavor and texture. I actually like to drink it. Tastes good. Works great. I highly recommend this product.

Not sure if it works, but it's extremely difficult to consume
I wasn't able to try this out for very long, so I can't really say if it works or not. I didn't see much in the way of effects the couple of times I did take it, but it might need more consistent use to see results. I gave it a medium rating just because it's probably beneficial, just difficult to actually work into your diet. I really found it pretty difficult to consume. I'm great at chugging down offensive powdered supplements when I need to but the sheer volume of this that you have to consume makes taking it with liquids really difficult. It thickens quickly in liquids, so you do have to mix it in and chug it down, but the amount you're taking makes it difficult. I mixed it into lemonade and ended up having to slam two glasses of it, which was not pleasant. When I tried it in water it made me gag, absolutely disgusting. If you take with liquids I'd break the daily dose up into 3-4 glasses of liquids throughout the day. I was would NOT try to take it all at once personally. For reference, the manufacturer recommends 1 scoop once a day, and a single scoop is roughly 2.5 tablespoons. When you get the package you'll probably think it's a huge container and it's going to last you forever but it's actually only like a 30 day supply because a single dose is such a large volume of powder. If you do want to try this product, I recommend taking it in a shake/smoothie. If you're a smoothie a day person, great, you're set. I'd just recommend adding more liquids than usual because this stuff will soak up the moisture and really thicken your smoothie into more of a sludgy. It's also okay in Greek yogurt; it adds a bit of a nutty taste but it tastes fine. I make a little parfait with the yogurt, granola, and some fruit, and with all those other flavors in that I can't taste the supplement at all (though again it really thickens the yogurt). The problem for me is that I've got these two ways to take the supplement, but I don't consume those things every day (and don't want to) but I do need the fiber every day. So that makes it kind of impossible for me to just work it into a daily routine and remember to take it. I'm probably going to be going back to taking high quantities of fiber gummies instead, because at least I can take those easily, and I might save this to use on those days when I feel like a smoothie or parfait. But I won't buy it again and I won't reach for this type of product again in the future.

Manna
Old Review: I have been taking this, one scoop a day for three years now and no longer have a problem with constipation this whole time. It also is very filling and I am not hungry. I take it in oatmeal with honey and fruit and almond milk. New Review 8 years Later: Drink tons of water with this product and use it every day. I still take a scoop of this daily. Let me explain what I've found. To those who want a closer look at why this product works so well. also how to make it taste better, I have some words to say. First, it's the sprouted grains that make this easier to digest and fill you up and make it healthy. It also has probiotics and Omega-3 ALA. This product is a lot like Ezekiel Bread. Please take what I'm saying here and treasure this product. It is a gift to us who need it. I thought they were discontinuing it, so I studied the ingredients and found Ezekiel Cereal and Bread to be similar. So I got them both. I started adding one scoop of Ezekiel Cereal (the same scoop used for the Fiber) to the Fiber. The cereal makes the food crunchy! Here is my recipe and it tastes much better than the way I used to eat it. My Daily Manna Recipe: Water is the first ingredient. When you wake up start drinking water. I drink at least about 16 oz by the time I start breakfast, and drink more water all day. 1 scoop Garden of LIfe Raw Organic Fiber 1 scoop Ezekiel 4:9 Original Sprouted Crunch Cereal 1 scoop Amazing Grass Green Blend Sweet Berry 1/8 tsp cloves 1/8 tsp ginger 1/2 tsp cinnamon Add water and stir. After it thickens add more water so it's creamy and not stiff. (Add at least enough water so it's not dry, but not watery like soup) After that you can add what you want. My favorite additions are: cut up carrots and apples, Ezekiel bread with honey and sheep cheese ( My body doesn't like cow products ), sometimes, like 3 times a week, peanut butter on the bread (pb is not good to eat every single day). I've added a hard boiled egg on the side(I just started adding an egg daily because I need more protein). This food enough for breakfast and lunch and keeps you so full and content. Drink lots of water all day. You should not finish the whole thing for breakfast, but if you do, you'll need to drink another 16 oz of water or more. In 2014 I lost weight eating this daily and I never gained any of it back. I also take vitamins, follow a strict diet, with no Enriched flour, or chemicals or processed food, or bad oils or msg, etc. Make it simple for yourself and you will feel good and be able to move and enjoy living. Thanks for reading and I hope you can try out the recipe. God Bless!

Better Than Psyllium
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure about trying a fiber supplement. I tried a psyllium husk-based supplement once upon a time and regretted it for weeks after. But, I needed a fiber supplement to add to my breakfast meal-replacement protein shake. I’ve had good luck with other Garden of Life products, and I liked that they use a variety of fiber sources. I was also encouraged by the “gentle fiber” statement considering my last foray into fiber supplements. TASTE: 4/5 Weirdly, it’s not the worst. One review said it tastes like hazelnut, and that’s honestly the best way to describe it. I’m used to putting flax, hemp, and/or chia seeds in my granola, so the flavor was nothing new to me. I mix it with a chocolate protein powder and coffee, and it turns into a rich, nutty shake that goes down easy enough. I don’t know that I could drink this straight with just water, but maybe coffee or even milk would do if I absolutely had to. My advice is just to mix it with something else that has a thicker substance and at least a mild flavor rather than try to choke it down with water. BLENDING: 4/5 Since I put this in a protein shake, I normally use a blender bottle. I couldn’t imagine trying to stir this powder into any liquid. But in a shaker cup with a whisk ball, the fiber mix is evenly distributed in my protein shake and stays suspended while I sip it down over a half hour or so. I haven’t tried mixing into recipes, but it looks like it would be easy to mix into dry oatmeal for stovetop cooking or overnight oats. Long story short though, if you tried stirring this and got frustrated, try any lidded cup and shaking it instead. RESULTS: 5/5 First of all… start slow. I started with half a scoop and am still using just that for my breakfast shake. I imagine using a whole scoop straight off the bat would’ve been uncomfortable. I immediately noticed I felt fuller longer, which was my primary goal in taking this supplement. I drink my shake at about 8 AM and don’t feel hungry until at least noon. Within a week or so I also noticed other digestive improvements, which is just a secondary bonus to this fiber. Note, I drink plenty of water already, but if you are challenged to drink water daily, be extra diligent about staying hydrated if you take any fiber supplements until you know how your digestive tract will respond. I honestly don’t know that I need to go up to a full scoop, but it’s nice to know it won’t have any disastrous consequences if I do. OVERALL: 4/5 Yes, the taste can be off putting at times, especially if you’re craving something buttery and greasy for breakfast. Yes, it’s an extra “thing” to put in my breakfast. But for a supplement that helps me stay fuller longer, thus helping me keep my diet lower in calories, it’s worth it.

Pricey for what you get
I needed to add more fibre in my diet and this adds 9 grams of fibre per scoop. The scoop is huge and if you are counting calories there is 120 calories and 16 grams of carbs per scoop. I still use this and it does help but I break it up into one tablespoon in the AM and one Tablespoon in the PM
