Wonderful book
I was looking for the perfect seashell book for my 4 year old grandson. We live in MN but have collected shells on various southern trips. He will love the special container of shells along with this book. This is an educational book with a great rhyming/counting story too. The illustrations are beautiful and even though there is a girl on the cover, there are two boys and a Grandma pictured within the story. Appropriate for many ages!

The beach, the sand and seashells
I love the illustrations in this book. I love the story line of the children's adventure to gather shells. I love that their is a family element. This is a great book for Elementary and Kindergarten students to learn about shells and collecting shells. This is also a great gift to go along with something made of shells or in a shell shape. You can take a bag of shells you have collected and look through the illustrations and match them.

Gift for Grand children
I started collecting shells with my grand son when he was 3 years old. I didn't realize that he would become fascinated with them and want to learn about the different kinds of shells. He now has a collection that includes shells (and stones) from Florida, Hawaii, Mexico, Malaysia and Michigan. He compares his shells to the ones pictured in the book and we learn about them together. Great beginner and intermediate book. I learned a few things about shells that I didn't know!

Beautiful book and illustrations with one small complaint...
My daughters and I love this book. They love the ocean and it's great to learn the real names of all the shells that we commonly see at the beach. My only complaint is that the author wrote that the shells become empty when the animals die, or something to that effect. I was surprised to see the word "die" in a children's book, so rather than get into a conversation about death before bedtime, I change the word to "leave" without skipping a beat. Other than that, I'm really happy with this purchase.

Great book on shells and counting for young children
Bought this book for my 2 year old granddaughter. We collect seashells on the beach and I knew sheโd love this. I even matched up shells on my collection to the ones in the book-she loves to match them up and knows most of the shells by name now. Wonderful little book.

Grand kids adventure book
When the grand kids come south to visit, I try to have a theme for their visit. This year is was She Sells Sea Shells by the Seashore. This book worked great as they drove to the beach to look for shells.

Nice little book
Nice little book. Good service. Only dropped 2 stars for personal reasons. There was no mention made of the fact the book mentioned a birthday celebration which we as a family don't recognize. Otherwise, all good.
