I believe this is the same product, but the packaging and instructions might be different. It looks like the 104001001 is packaged and sold in the United States, and the 108601001 is packaged and sold in the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia.

This product works great with Windows computers. I don't own a mac, but since it's the same software and same cable for both platforms, itshould work equally well for Windows or mac.
