Leekalos Reusable Menstrual Pads - Bamboo Menstrual Cloth Pads

At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I tried a different brand, with a different style. Those didn’t live up to my expectations or my needs. So I decided to give these a shot. I am impressed with how well these hold up and how much they can absorb. I tend to have heavy periods and often would buy the infinity pads. These washable pads are equal, if not better in my opinion. I’m also saving money and it’s a small victory for reducing garbage. They’re great as everyday liners as well. They are thin, breathable, as they help absorb moisture and sweat away. I have had them more than a month, and they’re still going strong! Pros: Appearance they are as advertised. Thin, but mighty. Machine washable and dryer safe (delicate and medium heat recommended). Made of good quality materials, and comfortable to wear. My undies are always left clean & dry. Cons: They tend to slip down a little. But not enough to annoy me. Otherwise it stays for the most part. It might also depend on what material your undies are made of. Note: I bought a quantity pack of 3 = 21 units total.

So I have only used them for one cycle, but here’s my full review on them based on it: Pros: Very comfortable. It took a bit to get adjusted as it feels a bit bulkier, but otherwise very comfortable. The pictures show the size comparison to a standard size 2 “long super” disposable pad as that’s what I typically use. The ability to shift them. So I move mine depending on if I’m sleeping or out and about, and being able to slide it where I need it is a great thing I didn’t know I needed. Easy to wash. I soaked mine in just cold water about 24 hours, then used borax and a small amount of Gain in cold water to wash them. Borax has mixed reviews on if it should be used, but they came out alright Little to no bunching. I’m a larger person so my pads usually fold up and crinkle throughout the day, but with these I could readjust them without fighting Cons: Smell. The pads themselves don’t smell, but I do sweat a lot and I noticed that smell a bit more apparently than usual. Did not notice a smell when it came to my period though. Thickness. I’m a size 16 xxl no thigh gap person, and I wear leggings. I felt like you could clearly see the outline of the pad from the back, as I could feel it. These also do fold a bit as I go throughout the day, but fixing it isn’t a big issue. It does slide back and forth as I wear polyester blend underwear, but again fixing it is an easy thing to do. Overall great product. The snaps held amazingly and didn’t feel odd as it’s a hard plastic. The waterproofing worked great and I had no leaks or staining. This is a great product that I recommended to anyone looking to save some money.

I bought these pads two years ago and I can attest that they work amazingly. My flow is smaller now, less cramps, and my period is now over in about 3 or 4 days, and it used to be 7 miserable days long. These things changed my life. I can't recommend them enough. Also no stains after two years either on any of them, all of them wash completely clean.

I got the variety pack of these a few months back, overall I think that they work pretty decent for me. I got them in a large and I would say that they are a little longer than a disposable pad (something like always) in a size 2 (like the regular) and like the size 3 (like the extra long) in length. I normally go for the equate (Walmart brand) in a size 4 (the first overnight size) and I typically go with the maxi version of it. I would typically wear the disposable ones day or night because I didn't want to risk leaking. I wear I size 8 in women's underwear and overall I say that these reusable pads fit pretty decent. I don't think that I've leaked in them yet even though they are a lite shorter than what I would normally use. I typically use the closer button to make sure they stay in place. They do shift a little bit but I would say less than the disposables did. I can go 8-12 hours in these without leaking. I typically have a medium to heavy flow, so I was quite surprised that they held up. I don't normally hand wash anything, but I do hand was these. I just run them under cold water till the water runs clear then I use a bit of detergent and some more water and just give it a good cleaning in a bin then I rinse them and let them soak for at least 30 minutes after and let them air dry. Overall I really like them and honestly all I really don't like about them is they need to be washed right away and they take awhile to dry. Some people wash them is the washer but make sure that you don't put them in the dryer. I wouldn't mind washing them in the washer, but I don't do laundry often enough for them to not get gross by the time my cycle is done. I will say that when you let them air dry, if the humidity is high where you are at after you use and wash them, it's probably going to take 12-24+ hours for them to fully dry so make sure that you have other ones ready. If the humidity is so post to be high coming up. Also, make sure that they are fully dry before you put them on. I washed mine before I used them and I thought that they were dry like a few hours later, but they weren't yet. I couldn't really tell right away how wet they were, it felt like it was maybe a little damp but it was a lot wetter than I though. Side note, if you're sweating while wearing these, they will get "thicker" like puffy, idk what the right word is ,even if you're not bleeding a whole lot. The wings that go around your underwear to hold the pad in place take some getting used to, though. I would wear the disposable pads with wings, but they would never stay wrapped around my underwear, so because my thighs rub together, when I walk they wouldn't be irritated by it, but because these actually stay in place they feel different to me. I'm usually not a huge fan of fabrics that feel silky, especially when it comes to things like underwear, but for me these are fine. I had some irritation at first, but I think my body has become used to it now. I do have sedative skin so that may have contributed to the irritation. I will say that I've never changed these in public but they do come with a wet bag to bring when your out in public and when I washed it, I put water in the bag itself and it didn't leak out without dumping it so I would say it probably works.

I wish these were available when I had my periods because I love the fact that it cuts down a great deal on trash waste in our landfills. I have not had my periods for about 20 yrs now. However, I use pads for incontinence & I did put reusable incontinence pads in the search & this is what I got. I am so happy I found this. Now I can still do my part by not adding more trash to the landfills by using these reusable pads. I got the medium size because this product was a first time order for me & I wasn't sure how to gauge what I need vs what the product performance would be. They are soft, comfortable & more than meet the need (right now) for me. If I need something thicker I can always 'upgrade' to a thicker pad also offered by this brand. Thanks Leekalos for creating this product & Amazon for selling it!

These pads are OK. They twist and shift more than others I've used, and they are much narrower -- distance between snaps is only 6.25" compared to 7" with the better version. And the snaps are HARD to open, semi-broken-fingernail hard. Otherwise, they're decent. I wash and dry them most of the way and they do fine. -- d of B & d

When I first heard about women switching from disposable pads, to reusable cloth pads, I'll admit it grossed me out. The idea of being out and about, and having to change pads and stick the dirty one in your purse in a wet bag... ugh. I thought I could never do it. But then I watched videos about plastic waste and how horrible we are to our planet. They would cut open whales who had washed up on the beach, dead, their stomach full of plastic. So I thought about how our family could cut down on plastic in numerous ways, and reusable cloth pads was one of them. First off, these are soo much more comfortable than disposables. I always would get the sticky parts to adhere to not just my underwear, but my skin as well. Ouch! But with these reusable ones that snap on, that is no longer an issue. They stay in place just fine. I debated between medium or large. I chose large and I'm glad I did because I believe it helps to keep them in place. Secondly, they absorb A LOT better than disposables! I was surprised at how much they held. I can go an entire day (morning to night) with the same cloth pad, so personally I don't even need the wet bag in my purse but I have it just in case. Third, they are great at odor control. Disposables stink halfway through the day to the point where I have to take the trash out shortly after tossing them in there. These reusable ones don't smell much at all, even if my nose is right up to it. That's why I can go a full day before changing it. Lastly, they are very easy to clean. I personally rinse them with cold water (cold is recommended to avoid stains) as soon as I'm done wearing them. Then I hang to dry up until laundry day. On laundry day I get a bucket of cold water, mix a little oxi clean, and place the cloth pads in it with the printed side up to allow any remaining blood to seep out of them. Let them soak for minimum 30 minutes. Then pull them out, place them in a zipper mesh bag, and toss them with a regular load of laundry on gentle cycle (cool or cold water). Hang to dry. Again, super easy. Sounds like a lot when I write it like this, but trust me I am a lazy person and this takes very little time to do all together. Overall,, these are so much better than I initially thought. I am so happy I made the switch. Bye bye sticky, stinky, disposable pads. Hello comfy, absorbable, easy to clean cloth pads!

These things are incredibly absorbent! I was a little skeptical that this fleece-like material would do a good job of absorbing anything, but it's actually great because it not only absorbs great, but the surface of the pad stays dry-feeling, with only clots staying on the surface. So the pros of these: Eco-friendly. Very absorbent. More comfortable than disposable pads. Easy to clean. Comes with a handy waterproof travel bag so your period can be green even when you're not home. But there are some cons too: Bulky, not suitable for wear with form-fitting bottoms. Aren't as securely fastened as I'd like, snug underwear are a must to ensure they stay in place. Do not have anything in the way of odor control. This can be pretty irritating since period blood is generally not a pleasant odor, and that odor can accumulate after only 30 minutes of wear (versus disposable pads, which do not produce any odor unless they're completely saturated). It only seems to be noticeable when my pants are down for a bathroom break, but I'm still just not a fan of that. Overall, I really like these and I think I'll get many years' worth of use out of them (maybe even favoring them over period panties because they're more affordable and can hold more blood between changes). UPDATE, MANY MONTHS LATER: I've been using these almost exclusively for each period, but recently attempted to use a regular disposable pad just to escape the odor buildup for a little while. I completely forgot how uncomfortable and rough normal pads feel after wearing these so long. Immediately after using just one disposable pad, I started experiencing itching, sweating, rawness, dryness, and a little bit of swelling. I had forgotten what "the norm" was like with those things. Glad I have a comfy alternative that doesn't leave me with an uncomfortable reaction.

Great product, wash well and are comfortable.

These work well.
