1) my dogs feet was exactly 2.5 and i debated getting this pair or the 1 size up...i decide to get this one and they fit perfect to size no need for a size up like i was worried about 2) to help.. on the package for my size small that i got the breeds listed on the package says: beagle, boston terrier, fox terrier, french bulldog, jack russell, shetland sheepdog, and shiba inu....(I have a shiba inu and was shocked they were even listed since they aren't a well known breed wish this was listed on the information on these shoes cause it wouldn't have taken me 2 days to decide what size to get) 3) i use these because my dog has allergies to something in or on the grass out here in japan and she was chewing her feet til the bleed and no meds were working from the vet...so i tried this and it has stopped the itching and i love that they are cheap and all. For my dog they are a little bit of a pain to take on and off just to go outside to play or potty but for me its worth it than spending $100s on allergy meds 4) i tried to leave them on for the whole day at first for her to get use to them and noticed she was panting HARD..checked her feet and they were burning up...they don't breath so i don't recommend keeping them on too long..dogs release heat from their feet thats why you see dogs in summer dipping their paws in water to cool themselves down. We took off the shoes and 5-10 mins later her panting had stopped and her feet weren't on fire no more. 5) i have been using the same pair now for over a month and still no holes so they last long. 6) i also bought an expensive nice pair and she hates those and never wants to walk right in them...these it only took her 1/2 day to get use to them and walk properly again. she still tries to shake them off the first few seconds they go on but after that she runs and plays and forgets they are on. I think it does make a big difference that she can feel the ground through this thin material and her toes can spread out like normal on the ground. 7) works VERY well to keep the feet dry and mud free when letting outside to potty when its raining saves me time not having to wipe her feet when she comes in, just got to pull off the shoes.

Wow! I am severely unimpressed with the quality of this product. As was asked by someone on Amazon's Q&A page, yes, indeed, these are basically latex balloon material and nothing more. Some background... I was looking for some foot protection for my Golden Retriever who gets snow and ice stuck between her pads when winter arrives and we are outdoors. She doesn't seem to need insulation as far as warmth goes, but I always worry about the snow and the potential salts on walkways when we're out in the community. This seemed like an ideal solution. I was very wrong and should've heeded the warnings from some of the reviewers. First, the material is incredibly flimsy, but I was willing to give it a shot. These, however, are not easy to get on a dogs' paws. Even stretching them (like you would a balloon) before putting them on did nothing. I was not thrilled about having something so tightly fitting around her leg, but I figured I'd give them a chance since they'd only be on for a short time and not used daily. I may have been able to get over the tight fit (I understand why this would be done to keep them in place), but the quality is ridiculous. After having them on for about 10 minutes, the included photos of the "bootie massacre" were the results. It was absolutely an indication that these would not work for us. We didn't even get one solid use out of them, let alone getting any sort of reuse down the line. All four of the boots had holes and tears and one came off (impossible as that seemed to me at the start) while moving. I also tried another set on my Labrador (who doesn't suffer with getting snow stuck, but I thought they might just work as protection from salt) and they fell off of her after 30 seconds of walking. Literally just came right off as she was walking - and I'm frankly not sure how it happened because the fit around the securing point was quite snug. She also had holes in hers and, as stated, they were only on her for a few seconds before they came off. Perhaps for very small dogs these might work in VERY delicate use situations (maybe - though I can't imagine they'd be good for much of anything), but if a dog is of average to large size, I just can't see these as a viable option at all. Such a shame and a waste of money, but I would hate to see someone else buy these and think they would get multiple uses out of them when one use didn't even happen.

Several months after we got our (rescued) collie, she began to lick her feet, biting the pads until they were red and bleeding! We worked with our vet to determine that it was a grass/weeds (spring/summer) weeds and grass allergy. We gave her medication (which did help) - but then I came across these. The first set I bought (Blue) was just a LITTLE tight - but within 3 days of me putting them on her for EVERY trip outside...the biting and licking were gone! I purchased another set (Purple) and BINGO! These fit very well (I do need to keep her nails reasonably short for the best fit). I am confused with people who say they are so hard to get on because we don't experience that at all - granted, the EASIEST is for two people - one lifts a paw while the dog is standing, the other slides the boot on. (They are easy also if the dog is laying on the couch - something my dogs are really into anyway!) However, I can get them on her by myself with relative ease. For allergy purposes they MUST be on for every trip out (yeah, when I'm tired it seems like a bit of a hassle - but if I don't put them on, I regret it when she licks!). During the height of the season, I also sometimes wipe off her legs above the boots when she comes in, using a damp cloth. Anyone who has a dog with paw allergies knows how minor doing this would be compared to the worry of endless licking, chewing and bleeding paws. :( One set has lasted TWO SEASONS. Not one tear. Occasionally she (or another dog) will step on one, and pull it off. The Purple color makes it easy for me to find it in the yard. I LOVE THESE THINGS!! I have NEVER had an instance of the top "cutting" the ankle (if it's that tight, the boot is too small, in my opinion). They are sturdy and do the job I need them to do! Best of all, she takes NO more medication.

I have a small 10 lb maltipoo. He has white, soft, fluffy hair so when he goes outside in the morning the grass and dirt get all over his paws and hair and I have to wash his feet in the sink every morning. I bought these shoes to help. They work really well and they stay on nice and tight but I was worried it was too tight. They are also really hard to get on. I hate putting them on. He doesn’t like it either but he lets me because he is a really obedient dog. So I bought the next size up which are the red ones. And they were awesome to put on. They slipped on super easy and I let him outside. Unfortunately they came off super easy too and he came back inside with dirty paws. So I will be sticking to the orange ones from my 10 lb dog. Overall, it’s a pretty great little shoe except putting them on takes a minute. And I have never left them on long due to other reviews I read. We have had them over a month now and they have no holes in them, just some minor scratches on them which doesn’t bother me. The package comes with 12 shoes so when they finally break, I will just toss it and get a new one out of the box.

There are a lot of mixed reviews for these, They are basically heavy duty balloons. I live in Maine and I adopted a 6 lb chihuahua-terrier mix and want to protect his feet from road salt and from getting cut on the ice on our daily walks. I opted to try them for 2 main reasons - 1) my little rescue dog (to my knowledge) had not worn boots before so I didn't want to invest a ton of money in something he would reject and 2)I read somewhere that dogs get nervous if they can't feel the ground under their feet, so I thought the softness of these would be helpful to break him into the "feel" of something between his paw and the ground. Here are my thoughts after trying these with Rusty: 1)I have an AMAZING little dog - VERY patient with me while I struggled to get the last balloon on his front paw, it just didn't want to go on! Once they were ON I carried him immediately outside and didn't have any hopes of going anywhere. I was just "practicing" but was ready if HE was. I waved his favorite toy around a few times and after a couple of crazy donkey kicks, he forgot about the boots, took his toy in his mouth and off we went for our walk! We walk about 2-3 blocks routinely. 2)Consider the task of putting these on your dog as a 2-person job if you have a reluctant pet or one who is fussy about his/her feet. My Rusty was not thrilled but is SUCH a cooperative little guy that I managed to get them on by myself. 3)If you have a pet with LONG hair or THICK fur, these MIGHT be impossible to get on... my dog has long hair but had just been groomed and I still did have a little trouble. its like trying to stuff a ponytail into a balloon - the stretchy latex wants to stick to the fur and resists pulling up over the dew claw. 4)Puddles! I think to assume that your dog's feet will be completely DRY if they wear boots is a mistake. The boots really ONLY block ice & salt and maybe MOST of the water, but NOT all of it. Someone suggested using some of that self sticking athletic tape to pre-wrap the dogs ankle BEFORE putting the balloon on their paw, this might solve both the sticky hair problem AND the moisture getting in. I don't know for sure because we didn't try pre-wrap 5) (HERE IS ONE I DID NOT CONSIDER AND I FEEL VERY STUPID!) Imagine putting your bare feet into balloons and walking through a puddle. Got that picture in your mind? OK - now imagine walking out of the puddle and trying to cross a patch of ICE... OH boy! SLIPPERY! Those little legs were flying everywhere! My dog was a MOST excellent sport and kept on going! Bottom line THINK about what you really need/want these for before you buy them. They aren't a fashion statement, that's for certain! They look REALLY silly and are a hassle to put on, but they DID work out OK. For me, they are "training" boots and I will probably go with the UltraPaws traction boots after we are completely comfortable with these. GOOD LUCK! These are better than the usual dog boots. My dog can run and jump with his normal agility, there is no awkwardness and they protect well from salt and cold and heat. The best part is they stay on.

I bought the tool to help you get these on. But...Man, these are awful to try to get on her even with the tool because of how small both her feet and the boots are. Once I finally get 4 of them on her feet after struggling for 30 minutes or so, she stands there holding first one paw up and then the other, then shakes her feet and off they fly. So, I had to put them on and keep her off the ground, carry her outside and place her on the cold ground and coax her to walk on the cold ground long enough to go potty. This, she rarely wanted to do with the Pawz booties on, though it worked when she was most desperate to go. I resorted to placing some plywood on the ground to keep it from getting snowed on, frost forming, sleet, etc. Then lifted up the board for her to use that spot which was warmer than the surrounding area. My daughter swears by these for her dogs so I guess the problem is with my dog's smaller, more slender feet. I saw the warning by others with small dogs with small feet as to how problematic they were to get on but went ahead with the purchase bc I was desperate. They might issue a warning that dogs with slender (skinny) feet can sling them off easily. My dog is 10 pound Chi mix with a thin coat which causes her to suffer from being too cold year round, and with slim delicate feet and legs.

I was in the process of preparing my Shih Tzu for winter, this is the third and last brand that I’ve purchased for my Shih Tzu. I bought two other brands that were highly reviewed only to realize that it takes a lot of time for some dogs to get acclimated with wearing boots. I lacked the time needed to properly train in time since winter is already upon us. Even after a week of training indoors my dog would wear the other boots and walk awkwardly indoors when given positive reinforcement but when taken outdoors he refused to budge. Thankfully I had ordered these as backup. It took me a week to get used to putting these boots on him but once they were on he adjusted to them instantly. Quite honestly the YouTube videos help guide you but you just have to figure out your own way of getting them on. Since I have small fingers that aren’t as strong it took a while but I figured out a way that works for me. I still have to take my time removing the boots since I haven’t quite got the hang of that yet. I’ve had to replace 4 pairs since purchasing them but they are durable enough for us. Wear and tear depends usually on the dogs nails and the amount of activity as well as the terrain. We used them for daily walks on cement path and grass. I thought the boots were too snug even though they fit perfectly on his paws so I bought a size up but I’d suggest going with the recommendation for paw size because the size up I purchased was a little too big. The way he reacts as well as the protection when we are out walking with these on is definitely worth the purchase.

My Parsons Russell needed a toe amputation so I hunted the internet and pet shops for a shoe/boot etc for him to use while walking. His legs are so scrawny and paws so naturally thin that I've had real trouble finding something to fit. The Mikki boot was my first choice but was unable to get it on his very delicate, poorly foot, which still had stitches. I've found the Pawz rubber balloon like socks to be ideal. I have arthritis myself in my hands and struggled for while to get to grips with putting the rubber sock on. Making sure my dog was sitting or laying quietly on the settee to make life easier for me, with his front paws hanging over the edge of the seat, I began by placing 4 fingers in the neck of the sock to pull and spread apart and slowly and gently eased his paw in, then removing my fingers to allow the sock to close neatly around his ankle part, he was ready to go. I found it not only stayed on, but stayed in place and for me, I consider each rubber sock to be thick enough to be long lasting. I think it works well because he is able to feel the ground and he walks so much better with it on. (Brief note of before the Pawz arrived - I had placed his foot and leg in a clean new poo bag and tied the handles above his elbow which helped keep the bag on his foot/leg and kept his paw from getting dirty, especially with stitches still in - so the rubber pawz socks are proving to be worth their weight in gold.) THANK YOU PAWZ. I realise they are not designed for medical protection, but in the house, his foot is free as I let the air get at it. Out of doors we simply need to keep it covered and protected.

El material es bueno y mi perro no se derrapa incluso caminando sobre piso con loseta, el gran problema que tienen es que el orificio para meter las patitas es muy pequeño a pesar de haber comprado el tamaño grande. De inicio mi perro ni se movía después de ponérselas, lo que se tuvo que hacer fue hacer un pequeño corte en la orilla y con esto se redujo la presión en la pata sin que le quedaran muy flojas, el corte debe ser preciso porque si no la botita ya no sirve. También se debe tener cuidado de cuanto tiempo se les dejan puestas porque al ser de goma si la temperatura es alta les sudan las patas.
