Great sound very smooth, beware it's tuned on F key and the majority of tabs online played on a C scale. Great purchase, worth it.

I got the 21k in black walnut, and even though I have kalimbas three times more expensive, this is easily my favorite kalimba I own. It came with no dead or buzzy tines, and the tones are crystal clear, soft, and bell-like, just like I was hoping for. I was worried about the size, because I have small hands and other 21k models from different brands like Hluru have been uncomfortably wide and difficult to hold, and I thought the same would be true for this one, but it's the PERFECT size. It's actually more comfortable to hold and play than the 17k models I have! And the matte quality of the wood gives plenty of grip, so it never slips out of your hands. Also, I looove how soft and resonant the tines are! Other brands like hluru can have really stiff tines that make playing quickly difficult, but with this one, you barely have to brush your fingernail over the tines to make a full sound. Even in the high tines where you'd normally expect tones to sound a little plinky and dull, these have a beautiful, ringing resonance.

If I could give this a 4.5 I would. This arrived early for me, which was a pleasant surprise, and the package was undamaged. Opening it, I received everything in perfect shape, with no missing pieces. I had to tune three tines, but the rest were fine. Unfortunately, the stickers in this all tore when I tried to remove them, which is the only reason I did not give this the full five stars. That said, I LOVE this kalimba. It sounds beautiful and it's hard for me to put it down for breaks. I've never used a kalimba before, but even with 21 keys this is pretty easy to learn songs on.

Just received mine Kalimba from Amazon yesterday, LingTing LT-K21W, am extremely impressed by its Outstanding Quality !!! Have previously own two box type hollow-bodied kalimbas , none of it come close to compare with LINGTING . From packaging to the product , it's truely a Premium piece of musical equipment with high quality of craftmanship. Start with the body of Kalimba, the wood have a nice grain & is smoothly finished with warm and comfy visual appeal and absolutely great to feel when physically hold it in hand. its solid body makes it much heavier and its sound are much softer but lovelier & sweeter when compare to the box type hollow-bodied kalimbas. the high notes of the tines sounds beautiful and perfect . The sound by far have the most beautiful, soothing, calming and definitely apear to be most relaxing when playing songs with it. My 21 keys kalimba came properly tuned to F major. All tines resonated well, even the highest notes D and E on the side edges have no problems. It's definitely a brilliant thought out to include the tremolo chain, as compared to others more common 17-note kalimba, it tends to gives so much more possibilities in playing songs without limitations... Comes with tuning hammer, carry case, small bag , pick-up mic, sticker for notes to label on tines , wiping cloth ,tassel . Case is great quality, serve it purpose to protect the kalimba while not playing or whenever travel around with it . Overall I am very happy and highly satisfied with the instrument and would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to shop around for kalimbas , look no further, LINGTING is the ultimate choice!

I have tried quite a few kalimbas. When it comes to Ling Ting, these stand out above the rest. Let's take a quick look. SOUND The sound of this is amazing. The resonance is fabulous and although quieter than the hollow kalimbas, this solid base sounds amazing when you use the enclosed attachment to plug it into an amplifier, making it possible to play publicly or record. TUNING The kalimba came to me out of tune which is unusual for this company. With a little bit of research on the home site and gentle tuning, I was able to get this to sound really nice. CASE The case is a bit tight. Take out the burlap bag that comes with it and everything fits better. HAMMER The hammer is easy to use if you use it lightly. BOOK The booklet is not for THIS kalimba but it is still useful. LEARNING STICKERS You can use these if you want to learn the tines and notes for playing. CHAIN The chain adds a bell like tone to the tines- a tinkle so to speak. FINGER CAPS The finger caps did not fit me well and are not useful. If you have any nails at all, you can play without any aids. WHAT IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO READ MUSIC? I just play with this. I don't try to read notes. It is a great de-stress tool for me. It still sounds amazing too even though I don't know how to play it with the note reading yet. THE BOTTOM LINE This kalimba is one of the nicest I have tried. Its sound is rich, the high tines don't sound dead, and this kalimba is wonderful to play. Everyone loves it when I play. MY RATING FIVE STARS. This kalimba sounds beautiful, is sturdy, and sounds beautiful. It is a nice instrument to have if you want to de-stress and people around me love it when I play.

I tried out a few different brands of Kalimbas and for me, LingTing comes out on top by a long shot. It produces the most beautiful, crystalline sound with great resonance and clarity. The tines on the LingTing are thin but sturdy, even the angle of the curve is delightful to touch. I liked this 21 key Kalimba so much, I decided to get the 17 key one in C as well. I saw a couple of comments about it being uncomfortable to hold because of the lack of rounded corners but I have not once noticed or thought about it. It feels great in the hands even when I'm practicing for long stretches at a time. The only negative thing I can conjure to say is that the tines are not engraved with numbers and/or notes. It does come with stickers, but they are black ink on a transparent background, so difficult to see. However - I ended up writing the numbers & notes on the tines with a Sharpie instead, which can be easily removed with alcohol or acetone. The upside of doing it this way is that if I tune this instrument to a different key, I can replace the notes with the ones for the new key.

Love the instrument. Great sound. But just about everything else is trash. The stickers they give you so you can label the instrument are terrible. Incredibly hard to peel from the paper. Sometimes they peel away with the yellow background of the paper rendering them useless. Overall, I wish I could return it and purchase one that had the notes physically on the instrument so I didn't have to rely on these tiny stickers.

I have a musical background of about 40 years playing piano, organ, and keyboard. I started playing the kalimba in September 2020. This is my third kalimba that I have purchased through Amazon. The first two were hollow-body 17-tine kalimbas. This is my first flat-board kalimba and my first 21-tine kalimba. Here are the pros of this kalimba. 1. All the tines resonate well even the upper tines. 2. The tines resonate longer than my other kalimbas. 3. The 21 tines has a greater range of notes which allows more variety in playing. 4. The tines are very easy to play. 5. The wood, finish, and details are excellent. Here are the cons of this kalimba. 1. Since it is solid, it is heavier than the hollow-body kalimbas. 2. The edges of the kalimba are not rounded over. If they were, it would be more comfortable to hold and play. I have not tried the included pick-up (mic) so I cannot speak to how well it works. The other accessories are great, and the box is very attractive (not just a plain brown box). Please note that flat-board kalimbas do not have as much volume as the hollow-body kalimbas. Also, flat-board kalimbas cannot do vibrato. This is a great kalimba, and I would purchase it again. Happy kalimba playing!

The product is good and the sound is beautiful. The kalimba is tuned to the key of F. However, the last two tines sound a bit muted. Overall, it's a nice instrument.

The kalimba produced good sounds but the quality is not so good. The wood is smooth and OK. The tuning hammer broke into 2 pieces on the first use. As some tines were slightly off it was rather difficult to tune with a broken hammer. One of the screws was not painted properly (ie one gold and the other kinda blakish) the z bracet is not perfectly aligned horizontally. I do not have time to return the product or organise swaps etc. Just taking my time to review to help future buyers

we received the item today, it's good quality and all, but one of the pins is bent. E 7 on the photo attached. How do I about having a new one please? Not sure how to fix a bent pin like this.
