For the most part. Its sorta amber in color but definitely goes on clear.

is this product pet safe?

Though this product is safe for human use when used following the manufacturer's directions, there is no mention on this product for animal use. I would recommend consulting with a licensed veterinarian to find a product designed specifically for animal use.

Is this good for bedsores?

Bedsores are extremely serious as they can open and spread like wildfire. The amazon community isn't qualified to handle such a serious issue. You must have a doctor or home nurse assess the situation and educate you on how to turn the patient every 2 hours and how to treat the wounds. Please let professionals advise you.

How is the first aid ointment different than the original diaper rash ointment?

I was curious myself. I had a tube of the first aid ointment that was running out, and I ended up ordering the diaper rash ointment because it was cheaper. According to the packages, the active ingredients are the same in both (Lanolin 15.5% Petrolatum 53.4%). They looked/smelled/worked identical. But the diaper rash version was $1.11/oz and the first aid version was $2.16/oz. Not sure how much of that is due to Amazon pricing
