Chapter 6 is the most important part, yet it has no step by step solution.The book is really not that helpful

I guess the best measure is that I passed the tests and have been offered the job. Clearly you need to work at it but the book provides a shortcut and practice can make a real difference

This book is fantastic if you are preparing for a numeracy test. having not done any maths since GCSE level and really panicking about doing a numeracy test for a graduate level, this really really helped go through the basics and offered lots of practice questions. But if you are looking for a guide to help with a numerical reasoning test this is not for you.

This is an excellent book for the general job-seeker who has to do a online or paper based maths assessment. Really ideal if you need to brush up on your GCSE Maths as it reiterates most of the things you learnt in school, but in some more depth. There are excellent sample questions for you to try at the end and it uses a variety of languages to keep the reading more interesting. I was slightly disappointed as it didn't have much for graduates and numerical reasoning tests for graduates are a bit more tough than your usual GCSE maths. As I'm a graduate and looking for my first job, I wasn't overly impressed but would definitely recommend it to the average job-seeker. Great book

It definitely is something that will sharpen up your mental mathematics skills however I found that it only made me sharper in maths rather than directly contributing to my skills at numerical reasoning tests.

It didn't do me any favours! A bit repetitive, and all is available online, but for some it helps having a hard copy.

Easy structure. Definitely need to work through from beginning to end. Could do with a version of this for more detailed numerical critical reasoning and numerical comprehension.

It's a good book in getting you used to basics again, but frustratingly there are some errors in the calculations so I've lost a bit of trust in it. Use it as a start for revising concepts, but then practice online (e.g., with SHL).

Great book. At 40+ I recently had to sit the advanced numeracy test ...I failed!Well it had been 20 years. I read this in a day and did the practise questions. I passed the resit with flying colours 😊

I bought this to practice numerical reasoning tests for prospective jobs. Totally useless for that purpose as it is based on non calculator style questions. Total waste of money.

100% accurate (I found no mistakes). Covers fractions/decimals, percentages, data interpretation etc. A good number of test questions after each section. Very useful for middle management psychometric tests.

It's a very simple guide, but it helped me to revise everything I studied before and I eventually managed to go through all the reasong tests with no hesitation.
