How can clear previous readings

It tells you last reading on when you turn it on

Can I use the probe cover when using the ear mode?

Thanks for your question. We advise you'd better not to use the cover to measure ear temp. Thank's OK but not so accurate than without the cover.

Does it need the disposable probe covers for ear mode?

Nope, this is not disposable thermometer, but a non contact infrared thermometer.
