Description says it's stainless steel but it also says it's electroplated. That makes no sense. Stainless steel is never plated. What's up?

4.5 L 1.5 W you get an extra inch when latch is pushed out to be able to spread apart more if needed.

how far does it extend out? I need at least 1.25" to close the gap.

As I remember it extends at least 1" could be 1.25" or more

how far away are each of the screws from eachother?

From top view end to end with the space between the two that you can see is almost 4.5 in. Long. Their is an extra inch when sliding bolt is extended as far as can go. Gives you more room to fit better.
