Excellent, versatile shaver that lasts.
I originally bought the Remington Shortcut Pro back in 2017 and it has been excellent ever since. That's nearly a decade of reliable use from a single unit. The battery finally started dying and could no longer hold a charge, and that's when I knew it was time to buy the exact same model. I use it to shave my head with no guard — basically a zero. What I love about it is that it doesn't give you a close shave. It leaves just enough hair so you don't have that fully bald look. If you want a razor-close shave, check out the newer Philips head shaver. But that's $150 whereas this is under $60. The curved blade design works naturally with the shape of your head, making it easy to do yourself without missing spots. It's compact, easy to handle, and gets the job done quickly. No fuss, no complicated setup — just pick it up and go. This trimmer isn't perfect and I see some people have had issues but I had this for 9 years. For me, it was excellent. Highly recommend!

Bought this 9 years ago and it's the best hair trimmer I've ever used.
Highly Recommed. One of the best things I've ever purchased. I bought this in 2017 and it's still working without any issues (I'm writing this as of May 2026). I have a full head of hair but prefer to keep it buzzed. I use this trimmer once a week to keep my hair short and it works great. It's fast and easy and the design follows the shape of your head. I pulled this back up to see if it was still available, because usually everything I find that is great ends up being discontinued or changed. Like I said, mine still works like new, but it is just about 10 years old and I expect at some point the battery will give out. I was curious if I would be able to get the same one if it does. Hopefully they haven't changed anything with it since I bought mine.

Easy do it yourself hair cuts
I bought this because I’ve had the same 1/4 inch hair cut since 1991 when I joined the state patrol. And still have the same cut afterwards. It’s a great price to pay to save yourself the time and money of going to the barber. You can easily maintain your preferred hair style yourself with this device. It comes with more hair length sizes that you’ll ever need but always nice to have if you wanna buzz the kids hair. It cuts and trims very very well, you can’t even feel it cutting your hair it’s so sharp. It’s nice and wide cut saves time and it has a perfect weight to it that fits in your hand nicely. It feels very durable and it’s way quieter then you’re standard trimmers are. I wasn’t sure if I wanted this one or the con air one that’s round but I’m glad I chose this one after all. It seems to charge pretty quick. If I’m going to cut my hair I usually plug it in in the morning that way when I’m ready to use it in the afternoon it’s ready to go so I’m not sure how long it actually takes from dead to full charge. And if you’re in a rush you can just use it with the cord plugged in if you wish.

Greatest Hair Trimmer on the Market
UPDATE #2 - So I reduced my 4 star to 3. The build quality is sketchy. I've been on my replaced unit since my first one died on me for around shockingly, another 8 months. This time? The rubber edging on the unit has begun to peel from where the blade sits. That is really crazy considering I baby the damn unit. It has literally peeled out of nowhere... I'm not sure how annoying it will become but this brings back to Remington... They are like the German car maker of hair trimmers. They look nice and might feel good, but the lack of build quality begins to show shortly. It's really a bummer because the actual functionality of the unit and design is still awesome. Just don't be shocked if it falls apart or dies on you rather quickly. Again, we are talking months from original purchase. I had a WAHL that my sister bought me when I was 15. I threw it out after purchasing this. That was 16 years later... UPDATE - So I reduced my 5 star to 4 after my unit ended up dying on me about 8 months after the purchase. I reached out to Remington however who had me provide them with some etched model information and they sent me back a complete replacement unit as though I had purchased it again. While I thought that was great customer service to do that, it just made me slightly hesitant on their build quality which was something I always questioned in the past from previous Remington products I owned. I mean cmon here, I owned a Walh hair trimmer for 15 years and barely oiled it up and it always got the job done. I own this product for 8 months and it goes dead... you can't even compare build quality. With that said, I'm hoping they figured out what caused earlier models of this unit to potentially go dead and the unit that they sent me has the fix because I do love this machine but again, the build quality is questionable. Original review - So I didn't want to immediately write a review on this a week after I bought it feeling that I was just still caught up in the hype. Here I am a little more than 2 months of owning it. Let me say, BELIEVE THE HYPE. I'm on the internet, so I can say this without feeling the eyes balls shifting on me. I'm a hairy dude. Born hairy, and I hate it. I try to always keep the hair in check. I'm not just hairy in the common spots, I'm hairy like, if I crash land on an island and get found 10 years later, I might be shot or caged thinking I'm big foot or something. With that said, I was previously rocking the Walh Peanut, and it's sufficed over the many years (on my second), that I've used it to get the closest trim possible for my head and various other areas. The problem with that was the length of the blade is rather short. Obviously designed more so for clean cuts on the hair, face. Not ideal for large areas. In comes Remington HC4250. Holy cow. I used to own some Remington trimmers in the past and thought they were weak, at least compared to Walh. This one changes the game boys (and gals?). The length of the blade is probably the largest of any trimmer I've used and in comparison to the peanut, it's 2 peanut blades put side by side, plus some length to give you an idea. It makes the chest trimming a BREEZE. I'm talking about, what normally would be like a 15 minute affair between chest and legs, down to 5 minutes or less. It's effortless to grab and cut all the hair, especially because of it's angled blade. It's almost like a mouth consuming all your hair. While I also don't prefer cordless as I feel they aren't as strong as corded, I do appreciate that you can use this one both ways and have used it to the cordless route on a trip once. It was very convenient, however I'm back to corded whenever using it at home. It does come with multiple attachments, however as I'm always going for as close as possible, I've only used the blade. Has been flawless thus far. I keep it clean after every use and oil it every other use. If I had 1 complaint, it's that, my unit did not come with the travel case, but rather in a straight up box that looked like it was refurbed. I have no idea how that happened as I bought it direct through Amazon via Remington, but I never received my travel case with it. Not sure what went wrong but didn't really look into that until like a month later and then thought it was too late to care. Regardless, a travel case doesn't make the product and reviewing the product itself, I have to say over 2 months later, this is the greatest trimmer I've ever used and know that I WILL buy another one in the future should anything happen to this unit. UPDATE #3 - I've bumped it back to 4 stars. You might noticed I I purchased this in 2017. Yeah, I had a replacement unit within that same year. That replacement unit, despite the rubber falling off still works to this day and holds a charge as good as the day I got it. To me, that is some kind of technological battery miracle. I've had plenty of other rechargeable trimmers/devices where the battery weakens over time. The fact that this is on its 8th year and still holds a charge as good as the day I got it blows my mind. Not to mention, it just works, period. If it wasn't for the rubber peeling off and my initial experience where the unit died on me, this would easily be a 5 star device.

Works great overall, would be nice if it had a carrying case instead of a bag
I trim my own hair regularly and this trimmer works great! It's far easier to use than the typical stick-shaped trimmers when cutting along the back and sides of your head, and just as easy to use for a beard. I really appreciate how wide it is, as well as the curved shape, which makes it much more difficult to accidentally miss spots (I haven't missed a spot with this yet!) It's light weight, charges easily, cleans easily, and makes a nice clean cut. The only thing that would be better is if it had a nice carrying case instead of just a bag, as it can be difficult to find the length comb you're looking for, but that's a fairly minor complaint.

Never Pay the Barber Again
I have owned the Remington HC4250 Shortcut Pro Self-Haircut Kit, Beard Trimmer, Hair Clippers for Men for approximately 2 years now and just ordered my second unit as a backup. This little clipper really gets the job done! Let me explain: Unit/Mechanics: The unit is compact and fits quite nicely in the palm of one's hands. If you are afraid that you can't cut your own hair, this clipper takes the worry away with the ergonomic design (one handed operation is a breeze and NO CORDS) and the included attachments. Need to fade? No problem, just use descending numbered attachments, of which there are plenty for multiple lengths. Personally, I like a solid, short all over look. To achieve this, I use the #1 attachment and just go at it. Every two days to be exact. And this guys is still going strong. Even after two years of solid use, the clipper is still sharp and my hair doesn't get pulled or caught in the blade. Oh, and I use this guy in the shower, where it stays, no rust anywhere and the electronics still function like it is brand new. Battery: It is a rechargeable unit and comes with it's own charging cable which is not the standard USB hook up. However, if lost, they are replaceable through Remington or by finding a suitable male connection. After owning my first unit for over two years, the battery still holds through approximately eight buzz cuts and other touch ups across the body. Of course, just like any other rechargeable, galvanic cell, you will notice a slight decrease in return on your charge. That being said, charging time is just under two hours for my unit and it is ready to go for another eight haircuts. Your experience may vary obviously with the style of hair cut, thickness, length, etc.. Best part about the battery? No cord. Can't stress that enough. Power: This little guy really does it all. Chest hair? Check. Back hair? Check (helps to have a partner on this one, but it doable on your own with a little bit of flexibility). Beard hair? Absolutely. Hair on your head? Obviously. Hair in other...umm... regions? 100% check! Point is, if you have hair and you need it gone, this guy will be your go-to. Now, does it get as close as a razor, well no, but that's not what it is designed to do. That being said, the unit is usable without any guards on and does a fantastic job getting rid of stubble before using a razor or taking on bigger jobs (Want to get rid of that lion's mane? Perfect for that!). The only con I can find with the unit is that it doesn't have any indication of battery power. This can mean that if one forgets to charge it regularly the expectation of a hair cut can sometimes come up short (no pun intended). Now, if you maintain a regular hair cutting regime and are familiar with the battery capabilities, it's not a big deal as you will know how frequently you should be charging. However, if it goes dead in the middle of a big job, you may be going to work or school with a half of a head of hair. This is obviously easily remedied by leaving on charge (which I don't recommend for any rechargeable device) or just becoming familiar with the unit's capabilities. Overall, this little guy has become a part of my beauty regiment for the past two years and has saved me about $480 (1 haircut/month (@$20 including tip) X 2 years = $480)!!! So it's paid for itself about 16 times over (I was able to get it for $32.xx). Highly recommended!

Has it really been that long?
I bought this thing back in 2017, when I'd decided to learn to cut my own hair, rather than pay a barber every month. I'd had another set of clippers before, but they just didn't do it for me. To begin with, I have sensitive skin. When I say "sensitive", I mean that you could write your name on my head (in bumps) using a razor. My barber at the time had been cutting my hair since childhood, so he was the one who recommended clippers, as opposed to a razor. It's been almost 6 years since, and I can't remember what was wrong with my previous set, but immediately upon purchasing this one, it made cutting my hair by myself as simple as using a comb. It fits right in the palm, and even at its barest, it hasn't cut me (save for an already-present bump or two getting nicked), just my hair. Actually, I've been using it on my face, too, with no issues whatsoever. No bumps, no cuts, and as low a shave as needed. Granted, it hasn't brought me to "bare scalp" level, but my hair grows so fast anyway, that it wouldn't matter. Let's talk cleaning. Simple: just run it under water. By that, I mean run water over the netted part, through the slits that lead to the blade. It should get it relatively clean, and the little added brush can do the rest. Get some oil on there, just between the blades, and dry it off. Done. Before use, oil it up, and get to it. It's not overly-complicated, and as for taking the blades apart, I've done it all of two times in 6 years, just to clean out any hair inside. Using the brush, it's as simple as running the blades through water and brushing off the hair at the same time. Screw them back together, and it's good to go. Other than the oil, a hand-held mirror, and a barber's cloth, I'd say a replacement blade is a good idea. Back when I'd first checked for one, it wasn't available. I went on to use it for nearly 6 years without a replacement, and was happy with its operation all throughout. Now I think I'll get a replacement blade (probably should've checked back regularly, but whatever). Battery life seems fine. I generally just charge it the night before, then set to it the next day. Might not need that much, but I've had at least 2 cuts (25-40 mins each) off of one charge, and I didn't think to check how long a third could go for. Somewhat related, but the way I make sure I get the back of my head (and behind my ears) is to use both the handheld mirror, and my phone's video recording. The mirror is good for as far as the periphery can get you. If you don't have another mirror behind you to reflect the back of your head, then simply shave what you're comfortable with, then record it with your phone. Check how it looks back there on the video playback, then do what you feel is necessary with that image in mind. Hope this helps someone.

Decent Trimmer
I bought this about 2 years ago. It does the job, but eventually the charger dies, and it appears the plug that fits into the trimmer corrodes and needs to be replaced. The first time I contacted Remington and they replaced it at no charge. The second time, I figured it was my turn to just bey a new one.....going to try charging in non-wet(bathroom) environment this time.

La mejor máquina para cortarte el cabello.
Es una joya! Ya había tenido varias maquinas de otras marcas pero esta supera en calidad, corta parejo y la cuchilla es amplia. Se maneja muy bien. Inmejorable.

There is no 220V adapter that comes with it!
It is a brilliant piece of equipment but the charger that comes with it is a 110V adapter. So please do check before you plug into your wall socket !!! I had to use a converter to us it here in Singapore.

Kudos Remington
Loved the look, the portability and the functionality of the clipper. For Indians please buy a step down transformer ( for charging the clipper) to use it in India. Singway from AliExpress is the one I am using...works well with it. It is light weight and you don't even need to use the guards or attachments...you can just use the clipper especially if your hair is short.

Great trimmer that does the job super quick. Literally takes a couple minutes to cut my hair super short and does a great job. Wish I would have bought these long ago.
