Can you point me in the right direction to find some mounting tabs? I need to pole mount this, but standard tabs/ears will do.

You need to be more specific type and diameter of pole. Wood pole drill holes through back of box and use sheet metal screws. Metal or plastic conduit use electrical two hole straps and sheet metal or machine screws.

I don't see why the exterior can't be painted with the appropriate paint. (Spray paint for plastic surfaces should work.)

Will it keep insects out?

This enclosure is air tight. I doubt insects, moisture or COVID could get in.

Are there any metal parts such as hinge pins? I need a box to withstand the harsh coastal salt air

If there is any metal in the hinges it is not visible as hinges are made of hard plastic material as is the clips for locking closed. If worried put heavy grease on hinges.
