Can this be used for power bricks? The dimensions show the power bricks would fit, but how difficult would it be to get them in and out?

Hello, You can install the power bricks from the wide cross side, then slide it to the position you need. If you have something bigger then our channel size, we would recommand you try with our Power Strip Holder. You can check this link to see if it meet your need: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TKTF8HW

Does it come with the adhesive tape roll?

Yes, it does. A really got one too.

Can it hide a surge protector?

Hello, We are sorry it it is not suitable for surge protector. But we have another item for holding up the surge protector onto desk. You can check here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TKTF8HW It is our new released item, hope it meet your need. Regards,

Can 3M Command Strips be used instead of the double adhesive tape provided?

I use 3M picture strips (the ones that are kind of like velcro) to stick this cable guide to my desk and they work great.
