- MacroLife Naturals Miracle Reds Superfood Powder, 90 Servings (30oz)

I don't write too many reviews but upon looking through images of this product & reading the accompaning horse-headed negative comments, I had to throw in my 2 cents: 1. California Lead Warning - Any animal or plant from the ocean contains lead, mercury or a variety of heavy metals. This has been part of the overall decline of the environment going back years. For anyone who has written a negative review with complete surprise of the California warning label on the Macro Greens product - you are part of the problem why this decline is continuing to happen. Google 'lead in ocean fish' &/or Google 'ocean pharmaceutical contaminants'. What is surprising is the complete ignorance of these reviewers to the reality we live in now. My guess for this warning label is that Macro Greens contains chlorella which is harvested from the ocean & because of this, the warning label must be attached legally. Chlorella harvested off American shores is much better than anything harvested in China or Southeast Asia so calm down. 2. Half Filled Cannister - This product is a powder. As such, powder is constituted of 2 things. Solids & air. When an item that is powder is packaged, it is filled to the brim of the container at the packaging facility. This is because it is 'fluffed' at time of packaging. When the containers are shipped, settling occurs. The solids settle closer together & the air congregates to the top of the container. This is why you have to sift ('fluff') any powdered ingredient (flour, confectioners sugar, corn starch, etc) in every recipe - & im talking about millions upon millions of recipes. Macro Greens & Miracle Reds along with previously mentioned items are sold by weight not volume. For a reviewer to take multiple photos of this product with a measuring tape, at different angles to show the empty space inside the container & to say that they were short changed because of this is a blunder that boggles the mind! This is a common concept. 3. Color Change - To discount the Miracle Greens product because it isnt bright green is folly. Macro greens & Miracle reds are about rare macro nutrients that are not in our normal daily diet. That being said, some of the most valuable plants do not use green chlorophyll! For example - brown algae. The term "greens" is a cultural catch-all term for veggies - not the actual real-life color of all plant chlorophyll. No matter what your biology 101 textbook says, chlorophyll can be green, yellow, orange, brown, red, or blue. In my opinion, it would be more beneficial to consume brown algae (brown chlorophyll) than the majority of plants that photosynthesis using green chlorophyll. Upon noticing the color change, I would have assumed the product got better! My straightforward review: OVERALL Ive purchased both the Macro Greens & Miracle Reds product for years. They contain more macros than any other product out there. Macrolife INVENTED the macro nutrient powder industry, which is why all others are "copycats'. Take the Pepsi challenge. Pull up any other product & look at the difference in types of macro's, the quality of the macros & the level of detail in description. No other copycat contains Bromelain or Acerola. Good luck finding any other with Glucan, Dulce or Amylan. You can also bank on the fact that copycats dont have the same amount & variety of probiotics as this product does. For example, in the Macro Greens powder there are 5 different kinds of live active cultures in the amount of 18 BILLION per tablespoon! Repeat: PER TABLESPOON! People always complain of the taste & that seems to be a big point to talk about. I'm picky & I hate lettuce - but that never stopped me from grinning & eating a 'big salad' at the dinner table with my in-laws everytime we eat. In other words, the nutritional value of this is so high - just grin & bare it. In all honesty, the taste of these powders arent horrible & don't expect them to taste like fruity pebbles either. The label suggest mixing with apple juice which is great. Others mentioned other juices which works. All I do is pour a scoop of both Greens & Reds in a half filled water bottle, shake & just drink it. It's not that bad. POSITIVE This is the oldest, family owned product & inventor of this concept. I appreciate the exceutiating effort put into describing every ingredient that goes into these products. Immitators try to trick you listing items like buckwheat, oat bran or strawberry powder. Sure, Macro Greens has a buckweat product in it called Rutin - but buckwheat only becomes Rutin after the cell walls are broken down so your body can receive the benefits of its falvonoids. It's these little tricks & processing shortcuts the other products don't want you to know about. They might seem cheaper but in reality you're buying powdered cheerios with them. NEGATIVE The price of this product was steadily going up over the years (inflation) until 2019 when the large container jumped by $20! Also, when I received my newest container I noted the difference in color (like so many reviewers have been blathering on about). For that reason coupled with the price increase i can only assume the company had to instill an extra step in the processing. Maybe for stricter laws or a problem in supply chain. This extra step was probably expensive, which is why the price jumped & the color change. FINAL I've had nothing but great results with my health (auto-immune & an auto-inflammatory disorders) directly from this product so I can't quibble to much about price at the moment. If I notice a change in the health benefits, then I will make an addendum to this review which is on both the Macro Greens & Miracle Reds Amazon page. If you don't see any addendum then this product is still the best out there. Your body really changes for the positive with these products. cAVEAT I am a nobody consumer. I havn't researched every similar product ever made & I dont hold any special degree in biology or food processing. I have not been paid &/or given free product from Macrolife or Amazon for my review. I took the time to write all this down for the benefit of any reader out there looking for a real honest opinion of this product. Also to slug all the ignorant negative reviews. Huzzah

I've been using this for about 2 weeks with just water. I drink it throughout the morning in about 16 ounces of water. After one week, I thought maybe I had a little more energy, but wasn't sold. Definitely after the 2nd week I can feel a difference. I feel like I sleep better, am a more focused at work and wake up easier somehow. Today I didn't drink any until late this afternoon and I felt just blah. But am definitely feeling more awake (energetic) after a couple of hours. My boyfriend is trying it too as he says he can tell a difference with me (getting to sleep easier, getting up easier, better mood) so I'm already almost out. I'm pretty much sold. I'm going to try a different brand I found at a vitamin shop to tide me over until I can get more. I really like how I feel! It's subtle, but if I miss a day, I really notice! Going to try combining it with the greens in a kefir smoothie soon. I don't always eat great so I'm looking forward to seeing how I feel adding greens. I didn't give it 5 stars because it has soy in it. There is also a lead warning, but this is supposedly a very small amount due to naturally occurring lead in plant soil. I've read this is not the case with some other supplements so...4 stars. Lead or no lead, I definitely feel pretty good after drinking this stuff for 2+ weeks! Placebo effect? Maybe, but whatever. It seems to work! 8/25/2018 Update: After trying Ruby Reds, Vital Reds, and Torrie's Naturals, I definitely felt more energetic and focused using Miracle Reds. Out of all the supplements I have tried in 2018, Miracle Reds is my go-to now. This may not be the case for everyone, but for me it works wonders. I've been mixing it with kefir, blueberries, kale and strawberries in my morning smoothies and can't taste any grit at all. Bumping up the rating to 5 stars.

I recently had an allergic reaction to God knows what. I think it was one of my many supplements that I was taking since I bodybuild and care about health a lot, so I quit nearly all of my supplements but protein and creatine, and I even quit taking my multivitamin. The first thing I noticed was my lack of energy. I felt very lethargic. My plan was to slowly start adding back in one supplement at a time in order to figure out which one did me in the first time, but I needed something to give me energy in the meantime and keep me healthy. So I bought this guy, and I also bought Green Vibrance and mix both of those in a glass of juice. I gotta say that I am impressed. I feel great after having drank my health drink every day. I even sleep much better, and I have had trouble sleeping for all my life. The taste is the best of any greens or superfoods product I've ever taken as well, granted it is with juice and another greens product. My only complaint is that it mixes horribly with juice. At first, I scooped off the floating "pebbles" that were left unmixed from the top of the drink and ate them like that, which wasn't terrible since the powder didn't taste terrible. But then I wised up and just mashed the pebbles against the side of the glass in a circular fashion for a minute or two until they would break up and could be mixed. It takes an extra minute or two to do that, but it mixes after I do that and I have no other issues with the powder. Overall, I would highly recommend this product. Just make sure that you mix it well.

Love this product. This is my second purchase of Miracle Reds 30oz. This mixes easily into a smoothie, tastes great, is GF, raw, all natural, vegan and organic. Contains 1 Billion Pro-biotic cultures. Here is the recipe for my favorite smoothie using one of my other favorite products, 'Miracle Greens': 1 Cup of Almond Milk 1 Scoop of Miracle Reds 1 Scoop of Miracle Greens 1 Scoop of Bioplex WPI (Whey Protein) 1 Tb Fit Flax 1 Tb Fish Oil or Flax Oil 1 Cup or more of Fresh-Frozen Strawberries (or other fruit) Mix in a Vitamix or blender and enjoy. Have one of these in the morning and you'll start the day out with the nutrient equivalent of 5 servings of fruits and berries and 5 servings of vegetables from the Miracle products alone. Read the label... Goji, pomegranate, acai, mangosteen all well known antioxidants. But the real test for me was how I felt when I started taking these on a regular basis and MORE importantly how I felt when I stopped. My body was quick to let me know that it missed my Miracle supplements. Not saying that this is how you will feel - maybe you get all the nutrients that you need in the food you consume. I'm just saying that personally, I don't get 5+ servings of fruit nor do I get 5+ servings of vegetables EVERY SINGLE DAY. I'd be doing good if I got 2 of each. So, if you are like me and have the best of intentions when it comes to your diet and nutrition, but are falling short... and you like the idea of raw food supplementation over vitamin pills, I highly recommend this product.

Seeing an ad on t.v. about "Ruby Reds" got me interested in this "superfood", so I went online to find it. The cost of the "Ruby Reds" deterred me, but the thing that really turned me off was the fact that they wanted you to give them a credit card # & they'd automatically send it to you on a regular basis & deduct the cost from your card. So, I decided to look on Amazon for something comparable & found the "Miracle Reds". I can't really give an informed review because I haven't been using it that long, but it does contain lots of nutrients, etc. & from the other reviews I read on it, sounds like a great addition for keeping you healthy. I would have liked for it to have contained higher concentrations of vitamins, though, since I have a hard time swallowing the pills & was looking for an easier way to take vitamins. The taste isn't bad, since it has a berry or fruity taste, but I don't like the powdery taste of it. I thought I could just mix it with my o.j., but it says not to do that & suggests taking it with filtered water or apple juice. I'm really not sure why it would be any different mixed with orange juice?! I'd say the best way to use it would be in a smoothie because that way, the powder wouldn't settle in the bottom of the glass.

I am 71 and have the typical pains that go with it. I saw an article about this and decided to purchase it. The first 3 days I wasn't sure I wanted to continue with it because it upset my digestive system. I was lucky to be home. Someone told me that it was cleaning out toxins. Well I must have had about 4 days worth. I quit for a couple of days and realized that I felt better when I was taking it so I started to take it again. It's been a little over 2 weeks of using it every day and I have lost 5 pounds and my digestive system is actually normal for the first time in years, my stomach stopped hurting and the size is reduced, and most of all I stopped having cramps in my legs that were happening several times a night so bad I could barely walk to get rid of them. My leg mussels would be sore the next morning. Now I get a better night's sleep just from not having to be up several times a night with leg cramps. I guess I could say I would highly recommend this product. It has something my body needed. UPDATE 10/20/2016 It's been 3 months and I just ordered another 90. Now my wife is now taking it since she saw how it affected me. She reminds me every day at 4pm to take that red stuff. I make us both a batch. She used to fall asleep around 4 to 5 hours after getting up in the morning and now she stays awake. She wasn't aware if it till I mentioned it. To make it I use the scoop and add about 3 inches if ice cold water and stir it with a small battery drink mixer which does a great job. Will be getting a blood test soon and anxious to see if anything improved.

Day 1 - Got the delivery. Opened the box. I see the box is perforated, so that you break it open and the dozen envelopes sit like a marketing display, but also a handy way to grab an envelope and even a reminder to use it. The recommended mix is with about 10 oz of water and a splash of apple juice. OK, lets try that. I pull both from the fridge, using my Glacier Mist spring water, nearly icy cold and some apple juice. First, just water and the mix, before tampering with the juice. Hmm, what am I tasting? Not sweet, that must be why they suggest the apple juice. Beets! Mostly it tasks like powdered beets, rehydrated. Would not go so far as to say it;'s like a juice. Other unidentifiable tastes buzz around, something almost broccoli like, or perhaps that's just the beets. Can't put my finger on it, I'll have to go read the ingredients. Still, what I am really waiting to see is the effect. No cape has appeared yet. No "S" on my chest. In the time it took to write this, I've consumed half my drink. I'll be back... Day 2: I know what to expect, I like that it has inspired thinking about better food choices, less cookies, more vegetables, that kind of thing. I even picked up a bottle of pickled beets. The beet juice instead of apple juice is an excellent match. I look at the back of the packet for the first time, having finished consuming my second packet. What's in this stuff? Lots of great plant sterols, low sodium, low calories,wonderful list of ingredients. Oh? What's this? at the bottom? Warning: This product contains lead,... ? lead? Lead?! LEAD !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?! I'm eating the equivalent of 1940's paint chips?
