GMRS only!
GMRS/UHF only. Works surprisingly well compared to my Diamond high gain antenna. Tuned for UHF. No good on VHF - high SWR.

Love it!
Nice antenna and great to have over the longer metal antenna that usually keeps you out of parking garages. The magnet is strong, but I am not sure it is a flush as I would like. But it looks good and does not take away from the car. Value for the money is there because at the price you are not risking much.

This coupled with Baofeng is decent repeater performance.
If you’re looking for durable, waterproof performance, it works 2.5x better than the whip for my Baofeng. I’ve got decent repeater performance in my car for under $110 total (Baofeng and this)

For me, garbage and badly made cable - GMRS
The magnetic mount was great. Held well on my truck cab. The ghost antenna also went on nicely, but the SWR was terrible. From 9-10. The connection to the radio had a center pin that looked like it was made of solder, instead of a pin. I also tested with some HT's, and they had about the same succes. With my usual signal stick, I could reach the repeater. With this ghost antenna, I could only send very good static. I also received some static with replies of: "Who is trying to connect?" / "Please stop" / "I think someone out there is trying to connect and failing miserably". As an informed consumer, I feel I should mention I tested this all with GMRS equipment only. I do not have a HAM or SPAM license, nor do I have a license to drive the truck I have. I do have a GMRS license, and GMRS is only what I tested.

GMRS WINNER !
I pick up so much more chatter around town on GMRS, FRS, MURS, 2m, 1.25m HAM than any other budget antenna that I tried before & it transmits far better too ! The SWR tested a little high at 3 but I don't care because in actual use, I got a report from a dude saying that I was coming in perfectly clear through a Repeater 17 miles away in heavily wooded Pennsylvania on a 10 watt handheld Radio that I have mounted in the car :)

Cheap Materials, OK Reception
This cost me $25 for the antenna and mount. In the antenna world, that's not much at all, and you should expect to get what you pay for. This is both good and bad. The antenna itself works ok. It absolutely beats sitting in my vehicle with a Nagoya NA-711G screwed into my hand-held. Its consistency and audio quality wasn't as good as the MXTA12 and MXTA26 I replaced it with though. There was also a popcorn sound on GMRS channels, but it was liveable, and wasn't present 100% of the time. The magnet is strong enough so that the low profile antenna will stay in place on your roof. If you move up to a larger, heavier antenna, you're going to want to upgrade your mount to something with a wider base, and a stronger magnet. The MXTA12 was a good replacement for me. Basically, if you're on a budget, this isn't a bad buy, and it's better than trying to use your hand-held's antenna from inside your vehicle. Now the bad. The PL259 connector cracked at the tip. There's a tiny piece of metal that's missing, about half of the very tip of the connector, and I can't find it. It doesn't seem to be stuck in any of my adapters, so I don't know if it broke during use, or was like that when it showed up. The magnet doesn't have any kind of silicone cover, so I suspect that over time, it would have worn away at my paint. I've replaced it with something else, but continue to use it for SDR scanning, and GMRS reception from my office. Stuck it on a 9" pie pan, and it does an ok job.

Great for the price.
Had a shorting out Nagoya whip on my Jeep, saw this, decided to try it out. The magnet is strong enough to withstand weather and such. I would definitely take it off before a car wash, were I to ever take a Jeep through one. Center of the steel roof, works great. Got clean signal to one repeater 9 miles away, unit-to-unit about 4 miles where the previous whip was scratchy at 3 miles. Can't attest to Ham capability, works fantastic on GMRS though. Unit is sealed, we'll see how weatherproof it is as Dallas heads into winter. Extremely small, but punches like a bigger antenna. I like it a lot.

Exceed my expectation
To be honest, I wasn't expecting this antenna to work at all. The previous antenna was too long for me to put on to enter underground parking, so I needed a somewhat short antenna for my radio to work. As soon as I put this antenna on, I start receiving signals where I wasn't be able to receive with my previous longer antenna, which shocked me. I suppose placement also plays a big role? Anyway, exceed my expectation.

Great Ham Vhf/UHF stubby mag mount.
Very good value and decent quality this is my second one. For winter opps rub down with dielectric grease. Highly recommend surprisingly good coverage.
