200-CU15 PVC Swing/Spring Combination Check Valve, Clear, 1-1/2" Union

These check valves are easy to install and I really like being able to see them working properly.

Absolutely love these check valves..easy to install and haven’t ever gotten plugged with debris. (My previous one was from Lowe’s and it plugged constantly) You will see in the video, I have two of them, one upright and one upside down…I am pumping up hill so I needed a durable valve that closes and seals with no leaks (so the water in the pipe doesn’t go back into my sump pit). The video is long but you can fast forward to the end to see them close. They don’t open and close much because these are installed on a 1-1/2” line which is the max size for my pump, so there isn’t a lot of force…I had the 3/4” version before and it really opened a lot, but I needed to move more water, faster, so I upsized. All in all, great product, durable, quiet, value for the money, and operates as it should. I would definitely recommend and buy again if needed.

So after installing a high-end, very expensive variable-speed water pump, the water system wasn’t working right. One of the issues we surmised might be happening is back pressure on the supply line. A check valve seemed to be the next step in eliminating variables, and so we decided to try this unit. Part of the decision to go with this particular piece of equipment was 1) it is see through. We would immediately know if our theory was right or wrong by visual confirmation, instead of guessing or installing unnecessary pressure gauges. 2) it can be used in a horizontal configuration. Most other see-through check valves are designed to only work in vertical applications. This fit our water system design perfectly. Happy ending: this unit worked like a champ! It fixed the problem we were experiencing. We could see that there was slight incoming pressure with the ‘flap’ being slightly open, and once the pump kicked on, we could see right away that the flap closed/sealed tight against the housing. I will probably buy more of this unit in case it ever fails in the future. For the price, this is an inexpensive insurance policy! Highly recommend.

I broke 4 or 5 of the home depot ones that have a seam in the middle. This one works perfectly and easy install, no leaks.

It was perfect for 18months.. Vertical install and after 18 months of use there is small amount of back flow. Wouldn't matter but we're using for Laundry machine.. a little back flow can cause staining of whites. Probably install a new one soon.

Using for pool pump suction lines from pool returns. Mounted vertically, and these check valves do not allow backflow when the pool pump is off, and do not clog with foreign material introduced to the pool from pine needles and leaves. It is clear, so you can see if you were to have any problems. Great replacement, and significantly reduced my pool maintenance time.

I debated between this check valve and the cheaper ones that use rubber connectors with hose clamps on each end. Even though this was more expensive I was very happy I spent a few dollars more after installing. It's a lot more durable and locks the piping together. Nothing flimsy about this connection. It acts as a union as well making disassembly to replace your sump (in my case) down the line a whole lot easier. Great fit and glued up very well.

We use check valves on all our systems and this an accurate. And quick closing , non fluttering check valve, pay attention to flow orientation when installing and don’t get glue inside !

Very easy install. Fixed loud water hammer thud from the cheap check valve I purchased originally. Now it literally makes zero noise. Great product!

I like the notion of a clear housing that lets me see water flow when the valve is open and check for leaks when the valve is closed. This valve's housing is isolated from the incoming and outgoing pipes with a pair of standard 1-1/2" union fittings. This allows me to use separate PVC pipes that are much better at handling the stress from the coupling clamps. It also reduces vibration from the sump pump itself. Other clear check valves I tried had a one-piece plastic housing with integrated pipe connections. Coupling clamps put stress on the housing that would likely lead to cracking. I much prefer the union couplers used with this valve. The attached video shows the quiet and smooth operation.

Works as expected, great as a union for easy removal of the pump itself as well.
