A founder of the French New Wave who became an international art-house icon, Agnès Varda was a fiercely independent, restlessly curious visionary whose work was at once personal and passionately committed to the world around her. In an abundant career in which she never stopped expanding the notion of what a movie can be, Varda forged a unique cinematic vocabulary that frequently blurs the boundaries between narrative and documentary, and entwines loving portraits of her friends, her family, and her own inner world with a social consciousness that was closely attuned to the 1960s counterculture, the women’s liberation movement, the plight of the poor and socially marginalized, and the ecology of our planet. This comprehensive collection places Varda’s filmography in the context of her parallel work as a photographer and multimedia artist—all of it a testament to the radical vision, boundless imagination, and radiant spirit of a true original for whom every act of creation was a vital expression of her very being. (2004) Here and There — Agnès de ci de là Varda (2011) Beaches — The Beaches of Agnès (2008) Review: Excelente - Un set increíble! Review: The whole package - I'm guessing I'm the first one to review this because at this point, most people have not had a chance to watch all of the films in this collection yet. Neither have I, but I've read through the included book and watched several features and shorts in the Blu-ray boxed set. Everything is logically arranged, packaged, and easy to access (physically and on the disc menus). As for the content and quality of the films themselves, you will not be disappointed! Most of Varda's work is home grown and low budget, so you won't see high-detail and bursting colors in the new restorations, as most of the original work was never like that. (Her old films were restored in 2K or 4K between 2013-2020.) But as writer and director of almost every film she made, her creative personality shines through. Many share themes of self-exploration, social justice, and local color around the beaches and towns of France. [EDIT, December 2021]: I apologize for mentioning in my initial review that Nausicaa (1971) is not included, because it is. However, I've done a more thorough search through the box set and have noticed 3 or 4 missing shorts, most likely because they are licensed through other agencies. I'll update this review when I have more answers about those titles! [/EDIT]

The Best Agnès Varda blu-ray complete collection available!
This is a divine treasure for cinephiles. Thank you Amazon for delivering it super quickly as opposed to Criterion themselves. I’m just saying Criterion has amazing products that can be purchased at their storefront here and delivered quickly (next day). Whereas, if I had ordered direct from Criterion it would have taken over a week. Agnès Varda blessed us with cinema, documentaries, art, art installations, recycling, repurposing and much more. This is the best way to experience her stories, art, friends (French Moviestars).

The Most Inspiring and Unique Woman of Cinema
I LOVE how The Criterion Collection had both Boxsets of Jacques Demy and Agnes Varda, I have both of them now and they always remain a lovely couple of Cinema in the afterlife and through the end of time. To Conclude, Agnes Varda is one of the most inspiring feminine champions of Cinema to be known.

Beautiful entryway to French New Wave
If you were ever interested in binging some French New Wave film, then this boxset is perfect for you! Agnes Varda was a key player during the French New Wave and era and beyond, not to mention she is a female director in a male dominated industry. In this set you’ll experience a range of films from narrative, to more documentary styled features. The more you watch, the more you fall in love with the way Varda views the world. This is a definite must buy for Boutique physical media collectors as it is premium feeling with tons of special features and shorts.

Good Boxset
I just want to comment on another reviewer's post regarding Nausicaa not being in here. It actually is: it's on the same disc as One Sings, the Other Doesn’t.
