windows 10 wont recognize? is there a driver i can update? or do I just have to return it?

It is not windows 10 that is the problem. It is not compatible with usb 3.0. USB should be backwards compatible but this device will not be recognized.

Does it need power to program? Also the software link doesn’t work!!

Program it with just USB connected, wires can be connected but power off. Go to puiaudio.com, resources, programmable indicator software for download. Also, be aware you need an older USB card on your computer, USB2.0 is too fast. I used my computer to set up the file then had to dig my old laptop out of the closet and email myself the file to get it to load onto the indicator
