These Are A Surprising Product
I have been playing harmonicas for 45 years now. From the days when all Hohners were made in Germany. So almost all of the many harmonicas that I have played and worn out over the years, have been Hohners. However, since the lower end Hohners are now made in China, I have noticed a definite downturn in quality. And have purchased other brands. When I began seeing these Swan harmonicas being sold on Amazon, I was curious and ordered a low priced diatonic on a whim. It's made in China, but is off a higher quality than a China made Hohner of that price range. So I ordered another Swan, and another, and finally this 1664 chromatic. Every one of them are of amazingly high quality for the price which is a fraction of what a Hohner, Suzuki, Seydel, Hering, or well known brand would cost. They may not be what professional harmonica players would regard as professional, but they are really good for us long time amateurs. I still love my Hohner Big Rivers for cowboy songs and church hymnal songs, but these Swans get played a lot!

Nice Chromatic that has surpassed my expectations.
It's hard to believe but this chromatic sounds like it should and plays like it should cost much more than it does.. I removed the mouthpiece and used a stone to smooth out the slide action though it wasn't especially rough unless compared to my Suzuki SCX-64 Chromatix that sells for 4 times more.. The air valves are quiet with no clicking or buzzing and it is very airtight.. I like it as much as my Hohner 280C for its sound and smoothness.. I have a few other Swan Chromatics that I also like and I ordered and received 2 of these so I can give the other one to one of my grandchildren that has been teaching herself to play. It is a real eye catcher too.

Great value
I prefer this Swan harmonica over my Hohner 280C for these reasons: 1. It has a richer ("sweeter") sound 2. The reeds don't clog as easily or as often as the Hohner 3. The shift button is smooth and precise 4. It cost less than half the price 5. The gold looks sharp! The Swan is not a loud as the Hohner but since I use a microphone /amp it is not a problem

Smooth, beautiful finish, expressive four octaves
From videos of the non-gold plated version, expected the slide to be noisy. It wasn't. It was very quiet and smooth. Was expecting to close up air gaps, not required. Out of the box the sound was rich and over all, an excellent harmonica, especially for the money. Took just a few minutes to get the mouth set to nail the tuning with a digtal tuner (about the player, not the device). Trumpet player here, so I find any harmonica easy to push sound. Know some want harmonicas make noise if air rustles from a gentle breeze, but I figure those are just asthmatics. ;) As an expressive instrument and four octave range, you just can't beat it. So much more than boring blues sounds. Pair with an acoustic pedal, pure magic.

The Swan Sunk....
Well how can put this ? Its nothing wrong with the seller..its this product thats bad..the low notes to mid notes 1-9 are usable but from holes 10-16 you need an air compresser attached to your mouth..i will keep it for a few days in hopes to lossen the higher reeds to play easier if i can..no use in keeping the product because id be losing also $10-$15 on return shipping and only through ups..only one good thing with the tone is the very low notes are good..i have 2 other swan chromatics a 1040 and a 1248 and they are nice harmonicas for the money.

Bringing soul back
Beautiful sound almost soulful if you play it right, I’m a new beginner but the more I practice the more I fall in love with it.

Very good Chromatic Harmonica
Among my Chromatics are the Hohner CBH Professional, Super Chromonica and. Tombo 64. They are all very good . I would say the CBH ( Cham Ber Huang) tops the list. That said, first impression of the Swan 1664 Professional is par to the next level. For the price it is such a bargain.

Will Make a Musician Out of You
This isn't my first harmonica, but it is my first chromatic; and wow what a pleasure this is to play. The soft and clear notes bellow out of this harp, at every hole, very easily; and this harmonica is a joy to play and show off. I'm looking for just the right tune up kit in the event I need to service this instrument over time. I don'k the extra 20 or 30 dollars is necessarily worth it, as I've played the 64 note in chrome and it played just as sweet. Thank you for making this available on Amazon.
